LOVELY TRULY WONDROUS LIFE - Scrapbook Nerd

Hi there!

Let's start this new week with a project for Scrapbook Nerd.   I love paper, embellishment, paints, etc. and have been lucky to be able to collect and curate lots of it.   So, it gives me great pleasure to pull out things that catch my eye and put them together in a page.   I started this page with no plan in mind, just a picture and some black paint.

Once a thin coat of black paint was added,  i started working on adding layers of paper.  I pulled the 6x6 paper pads from Carta Bella's Flower Market and My Mind's Eye Splendor collection  as well as the Floral Frame with swan die from Pinkfresh studio to create this page.

I layered papers and 3x4 cards (Splendor collection ) as well as a frame die cut (created from white cardstock using the Pinkfresh Studio die) to bring color and movement behind the picture.   Then started embellishing using stickers, brads and ephemera from the same collections.

The title was created using elements from the collections and the mini alpha stickers from Paige Evan collection as they match the  color of the papers used here.

To elongate the design, and complete my visual triangle, i created a small fold in the paper using  and created a small cluster using repetitive elements.  I added the lines of journal next to the folded, and here it is:

I love how this turned out, 40 minutes is all it took to put this together, but i got to enjoy the process.  Here is a small video that will show you how it all came together:

As always please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions about how this came together, and remember to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the materials used here.

CHOOSE HAPPY - Scrapbook Nerd

Hi there!
It is the last week of May!! so one more project for Scrapbook Nerd before the month is over.   I chose a picture of my daughter on one of our vacations to create this page.

To create the background of the page, i started with cut file from Handipaper, and  decided to shrink it so that it formed tiles instead of a large frame.  I cut this  four times from white cardstock and then backed each of the images with papers from the Happy Day collection from My Mind's Eye.

I played a bit with the formation of the titles on the page, and decided to go for a stacked look with some of the edges running of the page.  Once i glued the frames to the background, a bit of foam adhesive was added  behind some of the flowers to create dimension on the background.

i backed and layered some of the collection papers behind the picture, and set it in the center of the page.  I used the negative space created by the frames to add my title (Heidi Swapp's Emerson Lane collection),and then added a few more embellishments to each of the frames in a color blocking manner.  A few lines of journal and gold ink splatters complete this page:

Love how this turned out, and how the background brings movement and color to the page.  Remember to check all the products used at Scrapbook Nerd, there is so many new products arriving.  IF you have questions on how this came together, please do not hesitate to contact me!

THINGS CHANGE - Technique Tuesday

Hi there!

I have been having fun with this month's releases from Technique Tuesday -as i am one of their guest designers for May-.   This time i chose to work with the beautiful Layered Butterfly Crafting Die, Beautiful Butterflies Crafting Die and Beautiful Butterflies stamp set to create a new layout on my Family album -Life Crafted Album from Citrus Twist Kits-

I started by cutting papers from My Mind's Eye Gingham Farm collection to fit the page.   Then used the 6x6 paper pad Flower Market collection from Carta Bella to back the picture and cut some of the butterflies using the Beautiful Butterflies Crafting Die.  I also cut a few of the butterflies out of vellum, these were layered together and added to the bottom of the picture along with embellishments from the Gingham Farms collection.

Next i created a few butterfly silhouettes using the Layered Butterfly Crafting Die from vellum and papers from both collections being used.   One of the butterflies was added to the top right corner of the picture along with some embellishments.

The other butterfly was then used to help create the embellishment cluster on the title of this spread.  For this, i cut a label using the Essential Stitched Labels Dies and then stamped a sentiment from the   Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set.    These were layered on a picture frame (Gingham Farm collection) at the bottom of the page.  Here is the final layout:

I love how this turned out, the colors and simplicity of the page are perfect to document my nieces first day on social media.  You can check the stamps and dies used in this page at Technique Tuesday. If you have questions on how this came together, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Happy Days, Happy Life

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - HAPPY DAYS  HAPPY LIFE -

Hi there!

It is time for a new process video for Scrapbook Nerd.  This time, i chose to highlight the beautiful My Mind's Eye - Splendor  collection.

For this simple page, i am using a cut file from Handipaper, and used it to create the focal point of this page.   By layering cut files, and then adding some foam adhesive between them,  i created dimension and movement.

Though the star of this page are the floral images from the collection; the diagonal design of the page dictates the placement of the clusters. Here is the final layout:

I created a process video showing you how this page came together, and you can find it in the Scrapbook Nerd You tube channel, as well as mine:

Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in the page as well as all the new collections arriving daily at the store..

Read Always

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  -  READ ALWAYS  -

Hi there!

Time is flying, and we are about to move onto October, so how about one more project for Citrus Twist Kits using their September kits before we move onto the beautiful October kits.

For this page, i used the "Good Stuff" add-on kit and few of the exclusive stamps.   Just love the 6x8 Willow LAne paper pad included in the kit; so, a pulled a few of the papers to create a title for the page.

The letters were cut on the Silhouette Cameo, and then hand stitched to bring a bit more detail and color to the title.

Before adding the title onto the page, I used a bit of Whipped Spackle and a Stencil from Echo Park to add a bit of tone-on-tone deital to the background.  The letters were then glued straight to the page.  To complete the title i used the colorful alphas from the WIllow Lane collection under the large handstitched letters.

Next, I nestled the picture under the letters, and added a few details using the Vicki Boutin ephemera pieces, all the brads and enamel dots from My Mind's Eye and then a few Chipboard stickers from Amy Tangerine included in the Embellishment kit.

A few elements from the monthly cut-apart sheet and some stamped images using CTK exclusive stamps was all that this layout needed.  Love how this page came together so easily, and filled with texture and color.

Remember to stop by Citrus Twist Kits to check all the kits and add ons used on this page, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions on how this was put together.
