Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  -  READ ALWAYS  -

Hi there!


Time is flying, and we are about to move onto October, so how about one more project for Citrus Twist Kits using their September kits before we move onto the beautiful October kits.

For this page, i used the "Good Stuff" add-on kit and few of the exclusive stamps.   Just love the 6x8 Willow LAne paper pad included in the kit; so, a pulled a few of the papers to create a title for the page.

The letters were cut on the Silhouette Cameo, and then hand stitched to bring a bit more detail and color to the title.

Before adding the title onto the page, I used a bit of Whipped Spackle and a Stencil from Echo Park to add a bit of tone-on-tone deital to the background.  The letters were then glued straight to the page.  To complete the title i used the colorful alphas from the WIllow Lane collection under the large handstitched letters.

Next, I nestled the picture under the letters, and added a few details using the Vicki Boutin ephemera pieces, all the brads and enamel dots from My Mind's Eye and then a few Chipboard stickers from Amy Tangerine included in the Embellishment kit. 

A few elements from the monthly cut-apart sheet and some stamped images using CTK exclusive stamps was all that this layout needed.  Love how this page came together so easily, and filled with texture and color.

It is the last week of August, which means a new kit from Citrus Twist Kits is about to be revealed (and has already landed at my doorstep!).  So, it is only fitting that i show you one last project using a few the August 2018, Perfectly Posh, kits.

The background for this page was created using the new Pinkfresh Studio liquid watercolor (available at Citrus Twiist Kits shop) and the new This is Life - Outdoor Adventures.  I wanted a very organic/rustic look for the background, so that it mirrors that of the picture.

To create the layers behind the picture, papers from both the add-on kit and Patterned paper kit were used.   

All the clusters were created using a combination of pieces from the Cut-apart sheet (available for free at Citrus Twist Kits), the chipboard stickers, tag pack from the add-on kit, as well as stickers from the embellishment kit.   All the sentiments surrounding the clusters come from the This is Life stamp set and the Outdoor Fun stamp.

To create the title, the watercolor of the background was repeated, and the camp image -from the This is Life stamp set- was added.   The Maggie Holmes sticker sheet included in the embellishment kit provides the small sentiment that creates the title.  Here is the final layout

Love how this turned out.  The color combo and all the interest in the background are the perfect complement to this picture of my husband and son.  The following video willl show you how this was put together:

Hello everyone!

Nathalie with you today with this month's product highlight.   If you receive the main Scrapbook kit, then you will find a large piece of mini yellow pom pom trim in your Cypress Kit.  Love all these little details that Trina is always adding to the kits, makes them unique and fun.   Well, let's  me shoe you how i combined the pom pom trim with a few elements from the kits to create a fun and super colorful layout.

 Hi there!

To create the colorful background, I pulled the stencil in the mixed media kit (I love this new add on kit!), and used a few shades  of ink (Distress Oxides) to blend over the stencil thus creating the impression of the background.   I made sure the yellow strip sat in the middle of the page,

Once the pictures were aligned on the paper (before gluing them down), i chose to back them each with papers from the Add on kit, and the patterned paper kit, so that the papers matched the colors where the picture will be sitting on the page.  Then glued the pom pom trim around the one sitting in the middle of the page.

Once the pictures were set on the page, I used pieces from the add on kit, embellishment kit and cut apart digital sheet to color block the embellishments around the pictures.

To bring more detail and repetition to the clusters, i chose to use the TN stamp to add a few sentiments were the clusters were placed.

For the title, i chose a piece of ephemera from the add on kit that matched the yellow strip of ink.    Before gluing it down, i made a small cut in the center of the right edge of the page, and folded the corners in to create a small peek-a-boo detail. Here i glued a bit of the yellow pom pom trim, and then backed the space with one of the papers from the Add-on kit that match the color of the pompoms.

Love how this turned out.  First I used multiple pictures (YAY!!), the background is inky and colorful, and the pom pom trim is the perfect detail to complete this page.  Just love this month's Cypress kits!!!

Enjoying This Moment Together

Hello friends!
Nathalie with you today to show you how versatile the new Malibu kits are.  This month's kits are bold, colorful and a bit tropical, but they can easily be used to document those everyday moments easily.

By now you all know that i love to combine cut files and mixed media, so i took advantage of  one of this month's free cut files (there are quite a few free digitals being added to the CTK shop monthly!!)

I used the Floral Drops cut file to create the background of this page.  I simply cut it twice from white cardstock, and pretty much sandwiched patterned paper in between the two cut outs.  This just adds a bit of movement to the florals, and enhances all the patterns in this month's Malibu scrapbook and Patterned Paper kit.

Well, for the mixed media, i wanted to create a colorful background where the florals will sit, so I played with some Distress Oxides to create a watercolor background in the colors of  the papers in the kit.  I based the colors of the papers used  -when backing the cut out- on their placement on the background.

A bit of foam adhesive just adds some extra dimension to the florals, and makes them bring life to the page; Which is perfect for this  regular/eveyday picture of my husband and i (we were sitting on the carpet with our baby, so i reached for the phone and snapped a few selfies) .

I used a combination of the ephemera and stickers (from the  main kit)  with the CTK monthly printable and some of the embellishments to form clusters and add a title to the page.

I love how easy it was to put life into an ordinary picture of us (trust me this is us every day!) using this month's kits.  The following video will give you a  more in depth look at how the page came together:

NSD - CTK challenge

Hi there!

Welcome to my blog, and Happy 2nd or 3rd day of iNSD (it has been a fun weekend!)   I am so excited to take part in this year's Citrus Twist Kits NSD festivities.  So many challenges and inspiration being shared on their Facebok Fans page, and now it is our turn -Jennie is my partner in this challenge- to host the Mixed Media challenge.

I was so happy to receive this challenge, what can I say, I love getting "messy" (wink wink) on my layouts. So i  pulled the beautiful and bold Malibu Scrapbook,and embellishment kits to create this page about my niece's love for the pool (trust me whenever she visits we spent lots of hours in the backyard pool)

I wanted to bring splashes of water to the page, so I chose to work on watercolor paper, and simply add splatters of watercolor and shimmer watercolor in different shades of blue to form the background of this page.

This month's kits feature Crate Paper's Wild Heart collection, and the patterns in the papers and ephemera are perfect to document all types of memories, especially summer ones.

So i just layered a few pieces of the papers behind the picture, and then added clusters of ephemera to the corners of the picture.   There are so many cool pieces in the main and Embellishment kits that it was so easy to put these clusters together.

To create the title, i simply added a bit of the water to the bottom corner of the page -diagonal to the picture- and then cut a strip of the background, and replace it with the beautiful Pineapple Crush paper that is included in the main kit.  The title was then formed using some of the die cuts, from the Wild Heart collection,  and the new Alpha Stamp (all subscribers who switch their account to the new website, and all new subscriber will receive or have already received it).

Just love the happy and summer feel of this page.  I went for simple but "messy"(wink, wink)  look for this page, and totally love it!

It is time to share a new layout created with this month's Malibu kit from Citrus Twist Kits.   The kits are packed with papers from the new Crate Paper Wild Heart collection, and Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush collections.   So much to choose from, so i decided to mix a few of the kits to create this messy but fun page.

My idea was to add mixed media and lots of layers behind the picture of my kids in a cheeky pose.  So i pulled some modelling paste, and added some texture to the background, followed by some watercolor, and then acrylic inks.  Did I mention I was going for messy for this page!!

While that dried, I started to work on the layers behind the picture, so I reached for the main, and patterned paper kit to start building the large cluster. 

The new digitals available at the Citrus Twist store are perfect to add those extra layers in between papers, and also to add sentiments to the page.   Trust me, i jsut layered lots of paper and ephemera behind the picture.

As the background dried, the cardstock was curling from all the mixed media on it, so i stitched it to a paper from the kit on a slant, so that it created an angle on the page.   Then distressed the cardstock a bit, and added another cluster just to complete the page.  Here is the final layout:

Just loved how this turned out, messsy and all!  Perfect to document that particular memory of my kids trying to be funny!

Good Times Ahead -TN

Traveler's Notebook layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - GOOD TIMES AHEAD -

Hello friends!!!

Nathalie with you today.  Have you visited the new website already?  Well, besides being fresh and user friendly, now the shop also offers digital copies of the PL cards.  These cards do not only increase the number of options for pocket pages, but can also be used to create your own patterned paper, ephemera, and so much more.   So today, I want to show you how i combined the new digital journaling cards with the beautiful Savannah main kit in my Traveler's Notebook.

This month's Savannah Scrapbook kit includes a 8.5x11 sheet of vellum (i am kind of addicted to vellum, and import it monthly to my stash!!) which is perfect for creating an insert or tip in for my Traveler's Notebook.

For this "insert", i used Photoshop to create my own patterned paper using one of the digital card images.   I am not a master at Photoshop, but this process (which is the one used to add digital stamps to photographs) is simple,  easy to follow, and pretty much foolproof.   As a daily journaler,  the option of going hybrid for some of my entries helps to reduce the bulk added to the inserts.  Plus this way, i get to transform my beloved vellum into this beautiful translucent paper that can add that special touch to my pages.

Now, if you have seen my work before, then you know i like adding inserts/tip-ins in my books. This time i used the printed vellum as a means to add my title, and offer a peak of what the next page encases, thus tying all the pages together.

The new page is more of a traditional TN entry, and uses this month's Savannah scrapbook  and embellishment kits (the grid paper is the packaging from the Pinkfresh Studio cardstock stickers!) as well as the This is Life "Detours" stamp set.  Here are a few more close ups of the spread:

This entry came together in no time once I had the printed vellum.  Honestly, I devote 20 minutes a day for my daily TN entries, and going hybrid is a good way to speed your daily documenting.  The following video, will show you how easy is to create this vellum insert/tip-in for your notebook:
