Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Hydrangea Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there!
Welcome to the ALTENEW PAINT-A-FLOWER: HYDRANGEA RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY.  You are arriving from Amber's blog!   - a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post for your convenience-.

Today, Altenew is releasing a new Paint-a-Flower, meet HYDRANGEA... this flower is so beautiful and you are going to enjoy using all types of coloring mediums to detail it.  Here is what i have created for today's hop:

I chose to stamped the PAF: HYDRANGEA with Obsidian Black ink on the left of the layout so that it covered the left side of the page.

I used the Altenew Artist Watercolor palette to detail the blooms in lilac, light blue and a hint of green in the centers of the blooms.  Once i finished, i used my typewriter to add my lines of journal and added the stamped title using the sentiments of the stamp set.

To make sure the picture is the focal point in this page, i cut the cardstock to form a large tag, and this time, i stamped the PAF: HYDRANGEA images at the bottom of the tag with Black Obsidian ink.   This time i added a wash of the colors used in the left side of the spread, and added splatters of the colors to both sides of the page to tie them together.

Just love how this came together so easily.  The new Paint-A-Flower: HYDRANGEA is sure to become a new favorite in my list of Altenew products.  Make sure you get yours.

OTTAWA FIELD NOTES - Simple Stories

Hi there Simple Stories Friends!
Hope you all are safe in  your little corner of the world. Though most of us are doing our part to beat this virus, it does not stop us from reliving ( and wishing to ) our travels.  The new Simple Stories GOING PLACES collection is perfect to bring the best of those memories.

I started with a Sn@p  basic ledger paper as the background for the page.  What better way to bring happy to a page than a rainbow.  I pulled some of the Sn@p  cards with the same background design in different colors, as well as some of the collection papers.  Then cut chevrons  and hand stitch them to the top right corner of the page.

With so many bright colors in the papers, i glued a few pieces as layers behind the picture an set it at the end of the rainbow chevron.    Here is where i had fun with all the stickers, bits and pieces and even fussy cut some tags from the paper to form a cluster at the top right corner of the picture.

Did i mention this collection has so many fun embellishments?  It was so easy to combine embellishments with some stamping to bring interest and sentiment to the page.

To balance the page, i cut strips of the Happy Travels, On Our Way, 3x4 Elements and set them at the bottom of the page.  Here, i added a large cluster of ephemera at the left side of the paper strips at the same level as the picture.

With all the color in the page, i pulled the Black foam alpha from the Color Vibes  collection to spell the title of the page under the chevron pieces.  I added a phrase sticker from the Combo Sticker sheet to complete the title, then used the coordinating stamp to add more sentiment to the title piece.

This collection is amazing, filled with color, fun designs, and just the perfect sentiments to document your past trips, or plan the ones you will go on once we are able to do so!

I hope you check the GOING PLACES collection.   You are going to love it!

'til next time, keep safe!!

Altenew April 2020 Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Stamping Mat/Sequins Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there!
Welcome to the Altenew April 2020 Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Stamping Mat/Sequins Release Blog Hop + Giveaway.  You are arriving from Alex Siberia's Blog ...  A list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post - for your convenience-

Today,  Altenew  is releasing a new set of beautiful products, and i had fun playing with them all , let's get started:

I used the new FLORAL WALLPAPER STENCIL and ZIG ZAG Floral stamp and die set to create this textural card.

I used Altenew's texture paste to create the impression on Kraft stock and then use Rose Petal Mini  ink cube set to create the flower cluster.  The sentiment comes from the small envelope labels and the  last touch a few ANTIQUE GOLD sequin.

The next project is all about the new Precious Blooms Stamp set to create this Valentine's Day entry on my family album.

I went for a very monochromatic approach for this page, and chose to frame my lines of journal and picture with the teal blossoms.

My next project features the new SWEET SPRING STENCIL.  This stencil is so delicate that i kept it very simple and chose to fussy cut around the bottom edge of the application to add more blue to the page - Gold Splatter navy washi tape-

I added a few of the new SEQUIN mixes to the page, and completed the page with sentiments from the PRECIOUS BLOOMS Stamp set.

For my next project, i went for  a very CAS card, using the new TEENY HEARTS Stencil.   This time  i chose to create a card pannel with ombre color inks and frame it with Strips of Tea Party washi tape.

I used the same washi tape and  cardstock to create the sentiment using the Fancy Hello Die set and then added the new SATIN WHITE SEQUIN around the card.

My last project is all about combining mixed media with the beautiful STATEMENT FLOWERS stamps set.    I started by adding color to the page using the Essential pan set and then used Antique Gold ink and the PATCHWORK KITE STENCIL to add a soft impression to the watercolor.

I stamped the images with black Obsidian ink and then finish the page with the sentiments from the  PRECIOUS BLOSSOM stamp set.

Just love how this all turned out.

Now , let me just talked to you about the newest products that i am loving:

PINKFRESH STUDIO APRIL 2020 CHALLENGE

Hi there!
I think with our new reality, we are all lost in the changing times.   It is April, Spring is here and hopefully we are all enjoying the comforts of our homes in hopes to stop the spread of this deadly virus.   Today, Pinkfresh Studio is launching their April Challenge, and this month we are inspiring our projects on a sketch and the Noteworthy color palette.

My first choice was to flip the sketch so that the flower cluster sits on the top left quarter of the layout.   I chose the b-side of the Right Now paper as the base for my page.

Following the sketch i used a bit of gesso to prep the page, then added ghost stamping (Fruitastic stamp set -PFS) on the white space before adding the splatters of watercolor to the page.  I stayed in a more masculine palette for the background.

While the background dried, i used the Florals and Leaves cut file to create the large diecut florals for the page.  I cut the outline from white cardstock and then used papers from the collection to back just the large florals.  I also created a hexagon shape/outline from the white cardstock just like the one used in the sketch.

All that was left to do was assemble the page.  I used dimensional adhesive to attach the pieces to the background.  I framed the picture with a paper from the collection and then nestled it in between the florals.

I kept the embellishments minimal, as the large florals are already  a large focal point on the page.   Instead i chose to create a large title combining alphas, ephemera and layered embellishments from the collection.

All that was left to do was add a few enamel dots on the page, and  a few lines of journal.  I love how easy this page came together using the Noteworthy collection, a bit of mixed media and this month' s sketch as inspiration.

Remember you can join in the challenge and have a chance to win gift certificates to the shop.   all you have to do is create a project inspired by the sketch and link it to the PFS blog..

I cannot wait to see what you create!

STAY SAFE

Altenew 6th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 3 + Giveaway

Hi there!
Welcome to the ALTENEW 6th ANNIVERSARY BLOG HOP Day 3 + GIVEAWAY. You are arriving from the always inspiring Ellen Hutson Blog , a list of the all the participants is available at the bottom of this post for your convenience.

Today we are celebrating Altenew's 6th Anniversary!!  It is amazing to see all the products, projects and inspiration they have created in the past years, but it is the team behind the business that makes this company so inspiring and a joy to work for.  So, today, i combined a few of their amazing products to celebrate them:

I discovered Altenew a few years ago when searching for a flower stamp, so it is only fitting that i use one of the newer flower stamps - Poppy Garden - to create this page.

I started with a bit of mixed media on the background.    For this i combined a bit of  Lava Rock Watercolor Brush Marker refill and Watercolor Essential 12 pan set on a piece of double cardstock to create this watercolor rhomboid shape.

I used Embossing ink and Platinum Embossing powder to heat embossed all the images of the Poppy Garden stamp set onto heavy cardstock.  Once the images were embossed, i pulled my Artist Watercolor 24 Pan set to detail each of the blooms.

Once the images dried i used the coordinating dies to cut all the flowers.  At the same time, i backed all the pictures with papers from the Verdant Walk paper pack.

I attached everything in place with a bit of dimensional adhesive and then added a few stamped sentiments ( Tabbed Stamp set) around the photos.   To add extra movement to the page, i used the Mix and Match Mariposa Die to cut a few vellum images, layered them together, and then glued them around the page.

I used the  alphas from the Live Your Dream collection and the Sophisticated Wreath stamp set to create the title for this page.   A few drops of Cosmic Berry Metallic Ink Spray complete the layout.

I love how easy this came together mixing and matching products from Altenew.  Just love the versatility of the products and all you are able to achieve with them.

To celebrate their Anniversary, Altenew is having a special promotion that will help you continue crafting through this difficult time.
