BEACH, SAND and SUMMER SUNSHINE - JustNick Studio

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout that celebrates Summer.   With so many beautiful cut files in the JustNick Studio shop, sometimes all it takes is a bit of mixing and matching to bring your ideas to live.  This is one of them!

Love a large title layout!  To create this page, i reached for the   Beach Sand SurfSunshine on my Mind and Summer cut files.   I played with the words -in the Silhouette software) to create  a vertical design that had movement and could be quite colorful.

It all started with adding a bit of mixed media to the background -Vicki Boutin Art Crayon-, while this set, i used the Silhouette Cameo to weld the words in the title and cut it from white cardstock.

I used the machine to also cut the letters to fill the cut out from colorful papers from the Pebbles' Oh Summertime collection.  This helped when backing the title.

I added the picture at the bottom of the page, right under the title and used some of the collection's stickers and ephemera pieces to embellish the page.  I love how this turned out, all the colors scream summer, and the large title is perfect for the picture of some of my family while in vacation..

Remember to check the JustNick Studio Shop for all these cut files and the many more added  weekly.   If you have a question on how this came together, please contact me!

WONDERFUL YOU - Scrapbook Nerd

Hi there!

Today i am up on the Scrapbook Nerd Social Media outlets with this new layout that combines a few paper collections,  cut files and subtle mixed media, in total some of my favorite things.

I started by adding a bit of gold watercolor to some cut outs -created with cut files from Handipaper-; these were set aside to dry completely.  In the mean while,  i added a bit of texture to the background by running texture stencil on the background.  I chose a stencil that had small and well spaced images.

Since i had chosen a patterned paper from the Saturday Afternoon collection from 1Canoe2 for the background,  i opted for adding paper layers of colors that will complement both the picture and background, so I cut  papers from the Pink Paislee's Indigo & Ivy collection for this.

To assemble the page,  first i used all the patterned paper to back and layer the picture.  The cut file was also attached in between the layers, as well as pieces of cardstock so that they add a bit of separation between the paper layers, thus creating dimension.

All that was left was to embellish the page. To make the picture pop, i added stickers and sequin that match the color of the dress my daughter is wearing.  All the embellishments come from the Indigo & Ivy collection.

Here is the final layout, i love how this came together and how easy it was to create.   Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check for the materials used in the page. If you have questions on how this came together, please do not hesitate to contact me.

SUMMER DAYS - Scrapbook Nerd

Hi there!

This week the Scrapbook Nerd DT has been working with sketches.   I chose to create a multi picture layout all about the girls love for our outdoor pool.  The sketch was the perfect starting point for this page.

My choice was to stay close to the sketch with a few modifications.  First, i added some mixed media to the background using Vicki Boutin's watercolor marker onto Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock.

Once the mixed media dried, i used papers from the Kaisercraft Paisley Days collection to create the triangular paper strips  at the edges of the page.   In this case, i chose to move them around so that they guide your eye to the top of the page.

I chose to replace some of  the pictures with a cut file from Handipaper which was backed with papers from the collection, and then used the  some of the ephemera to complete the clusters just like in the sketch.

To finish the page, i used the larger ephemera pieces to create the floral cluster at the bottom of the paper strip, then added a title to the page using chipboard stickers from a 1Canoe2 collection, and mini Alphas from the Joyful Day collection from Pinkfresh Studio.  Here is the final layout:

This page came together rather quickly as the sketch was a great starting point.  I hope you stop by the Scrapbook Nerd Friends page to check the sketch and more inspiration from the DT.   As always let me know if you have questions on how this came together.
