FOREVER - Simple Stories

Hi there! Nathalie with you today with a new layout all about the loves of my life, my family.  The Heart collection is probably one of my favorite Simple Stories collections ever.   The colors and sentiments are just beautiful and perfect to document a memory for my son's album.

I started by cutting the floral frame from white cardstock using a cut file from Handipaper -who says florals are just for girls!-.   Each of the images was then backed used papers from the 6x8 paper pad, sn@p cards, and Simple Basics kit.

The cut out was attached to the b-side of the My Heart paper using some foam adhesive - this creates dimension on the page-.   All the colors in the frame  are just soft and masculine, perfect for a memory for my son.

The picture of  my family was backed with papers from the collection, and then nestled at the bottom corner of the frame.   To frame the picture, i used a combination of stickers and bits and pieces to create embellishment clusters.

The title of this page was placed at the top corner area of the floral frame - this balances the page-.   All the embellishments in the Heart collection are just gorgeous that it makes it so easy to embellish a page.

To finish this page, i used one of the tags in the Bits and Pieces pack to write my lines of journal, and then slid it behind the picture.   A few drops of gold ink complete this page.

I hope this inspire you to create a new project of your own.   The HEART collection is versatile, gorgeous and perfect for all those special memories.  Make sure to check it out!

XO

Life Today

Scrapbook Layout created for JustNick Studio  - LIFE TODAY -

Hello everyone!
Nathalie with you today with a new project that brings color and small details in a page to celebrate the small moments in life.   I love having a large selection of cut files here in the Just Nick shop that can easily be combined into a page of your own.

To start, i added a bit of watercolor (Prima Marketing) to the background -since i wanted to create a very abstract floral background, i chose a shade of green for the background-.  While it dried, the Doily Background was used to create the large cut out from white cardstock.

I chose to back the cut out using warm tone papers from Pink Paislee's Whimsical collection and some vellum.   A bit of foam adhesive helps to bring some dimension to the cut out.

A few butterflies were also cut from the same patterned papers using the Butterfly Background 2 cut file.  This time, i carefully highlighted just one of the detailed butterflies to create the cutting pattern in the Silhouette software.  A bit of fussy cutting -just one of the wings' corners- was all that was needed to have a single image.  I added the butterflies around the background making sure that they sit within the flower of its same color.

Once  the picture was placed on the layout, the Here and Now cut file was used to create the title of this page.  I welded the two words together, and cut them three times -2 from cardstock, 1 from patterned paper - so that they can be stack together.

I love how this turned out, especially when there are flowers and butterflies and i was able to sneak in  a picture of my boy in the mix.  Remember to stop by Just NIck Studio to check all the cut files used in this layout and the new ones being added each week.
If you have questions on how this came together, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Hello Today

Scrapbook layout created for Simple Stories  - HELLO TODAY-

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to bring you a bit of Springtime inspiration to your corner of the world, and what better collection to document the season than the new Simple Stories "WELCOME SPRING".

This simple set collection is packed with soft but vibrant colors and some of the most beautiful floral designs.  It is no secret I love florals, and as soon as I saw the ones in the Hello Spring paper, I knew i had to fussy cut them to scattered them on the layout.

I wanted to bring all the designs of the papers into one page, so I chose to create a large title using one of JustNick Studio's cut file.  Each letter was backed with papers from the collection, and a bit of foam adhesive which adds dimension to the title.

The stickers that come included in the collection are just the perfect complement to the title work of this page.  Gotta love all the phrases and cute designs.

To bring all the colors of the florals and papers, a bit of black art crayon -from Vicki Boutin- was added to the background.

Once the title was in place, the picture of my daughter and nephew on one of our Spring walks was tucked under the title, and all the fussy cut designs were used to frame the picture and title.

All the colors and designs of the Welcome Spring collection just shine in this page, but still don't overtake the picture of my family.   I just love how this layout turned out.

Well it is time to enjoy the season (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere), and the new Simple Stories' "Welcome Spring" is ideal to document the arrival of all things new!
Have a great Spring !

XO

Merry Memories

Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories  - MERRY MEMORIES -

Hello everyone!

Where has December gone!  It is hard to believe we just celebrated Christmas, and what better way to document those memories than to use the super fun and gorgeous "Oh What Fun" collection.

This picture of my littles was fun and playful (even when it is a bit blurry!), so I wanted to create a soft background for the page, and pulled a cut file from Just Nick Studio.   All those small holly berries and branches bring some texture to the page.

To bring playfulness to the page, I chose to create a colorful and large title, for this I pulled the Merry Wishes cut file from Just Nick Studio and used all the papers from the Oh What Fun collection to back the letters.  Then cut the script word from one of the papers from the collection.

All the fun elements from the "Oh What Fun" collection are so gorgeous ( i think I am left with small pieces from the collection!) that i had to use them to highlight the picture.   Gotta love that reindeer, just like my little nephew in his antler hat.

What is not to love of the "Oh What Fun" collection!!  the designs, the colors are just perfect to document  your most beloved memories.

Well now it is only fitting, I wish you all a Blessed New Year!

Sweet Things

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  -  SWEET THINGS -

Hi there,

Hope you are all doing well!
Scrapbook Nerd is hosting an online crop this weekend, "GAME NIGHT".  There will be lots of challenges and games being issued to all our followers.  My challenge is "Poker Night" which asks you to use circles in a project.

My challenge project starts with a background full of circles.  These were creating using the Full Circle cut file from the Cut Shoppe.   I just cut the circles in a small section of  the mat, and backed them with papers from Fancy Pants's Hello Sunshine collection.

To embellish the page,  a few drops of gold Nuvo liquid gel dots were sprinkled inside the circles, and small clusters of ephemera were added to the two right corners of the page.

The picture of  my son and the little was then placed on the mat.   A few clusters of ephemera were then created to frame the picture.   I chose to keep most of the pieces to a single color palette, so that it will pop from the colorful background.  Here is the final layout:

I hope you are inspired by the layout, and join us on this weekend crop at Scrapbook Nerd's Fans Facebook page.  We would love for you to join in the fun.

Remember i am always a comment away, if you have questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!

Grateful

Scrapbook  Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - GRATEFUL  -

Hello there!

I hope you are doing well!

Today I just want to share with you all a new layout created with this month's Stories  main kit from Citrus Twist Kits, and the exclusive cut file.    What can i say, this month's kit is gorgeous and the exclusives are to die for!

This layout was inspired by the left over pieces from the many cuts while designing the cut file!.     So i decided to create a layout that used the negative pieces in a creative way.

It all started by creating the cut out for this page.   I simply created a "S Shape in the mat, and send it to cut.  Then used some of the papers in the kit to back the cut out, making sure to glue all the pieces that held the leaf firmly to the mat.   Little pieces of foam adhesive behind the leaves create all the dimension in the layout.

My love of large titles is evident in the cut file design.  This time i chose the same Creekside paper to back the letters as well as the picture.   A bit of foam adhesive  adds that lovely shade under the title.

To emphasize the colors behind the leaves, I chose to color block the embellishments on the picture, and then add a few splatters of gold ink complete this page:

LOVE the layout, and it was possible using the negative pieces left on the cutting mat.  If you want to see a more in depth look on how this came together, just sit tight, and enjoy the following video:

Remember to check the cut file in the Citrus Twist Kits Facebook Fan Page, and the beautiful main kit is available at the CTK store.

I am always a comment away

Take care
