Summer is time for adventure, especially when that involves a visit to your local zoo.   So what better way to document those fun moments than the fun and colorful AT THE PARK collection.  

 It just works so perfectly for this memory of my little cousins enjoying the zoo resting spots.   It was so easy to bring this together.

It all started with the Zoo Paper, I carefully cut out the woodgrain frame out of it.  I then trimmed a piece of the Roly Poly Pandas paper and adhere to the bottom of the  Zippity-Zoo Dots paper.  Next, I adhere the woodgrain frame to the papers.

I backed the picture with a paper from the 6x6 paper pad, and set it inside the frame.  It was then time to embellish my spread with all those pieces from the collection.

All those cute animal stickers are just perfect to frame the photo and bring  more of the images in the picture.  I added  a few of them around the picture, and that helped frame it all.

I mixed some of the stickers with pieces from the Odds and Ends to create the title for my page.  I set it at the bottom of the picture then added a few Sprinkles all around the page to complete my layout.

MAGICAL ADVENTURE - Doodlebug Design

 Hi there! We are enjoying Summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, a time to enjoy the outdoors and travel.  So, today I want to share a new project featuring the super cute FUN AT THE PARK collection to document a recent travel adventure.

I wanted a clean and simple look for this page as I want to highlight the photo and memory. There are so many cute papers that it was easy to put this page together.

I selected the Sweet Celebration for the background of my page.   I then cut a strip of yellow cardstock and adhere to the paper followed by a strip of Fun At The Park paper above it.

I wanted the large castle to be a focal point in the layout, so I added a few pieces from the Bits and Pieces (fireworks) behind it as I set it on my layout.

I framed the photo with the red polka dot paper, this makes it pop from the page.  I then set it to the right of the castle.    I added a few stickers and Sprinkles around it to make sure it pop on the page.

For  the title of the page, I pulled a few pieces of Chit Chat and added them below the castle image.   A few of the park icons around the title complete the page.

A few extra Sprinkles complete this page. I just love how this turned out, and I hope it inspires you to use the collection to document your memories,

We are so ready to celebrate July!  Summer picnics, sunny days, and of course firework shows.   So, today, I am creating a new project featuring the fun HOMETOWN USA collection.  Even with all  the Americana feeling of the  collection, I was able to get  this new page right on time for our Canada Day celebration..

I started my layout with the fireworks acetate as a frame for my page.  I trimmed a piece from the All American paper and set it  atop of the acetate. I love the pops of silver and the transparency look of  the border..

I set my photos to the right of the layout, I backed the photos with patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad.  I used a few Bits and Pieces and Chit  Chat to add extra sentiments to the page.  The title will sit right under the photos., gotta love Chit Chat for this.

I added the large, "Let's Celebrate" embellishment to the left of the photos.  The firework Doodle Pop was the perfect addition to the page, it makes it all fun!

All those acetate firework pieces are just what the layout needed.  I pop a few of them to the top of the layout with a foam dot, then hid the dot with a Sprinkler gem.  The extra pop of shine helps to bring the idea of light to the page.

All the layout needs is the photos and voila!  I love how this turned out, and I am sure it will inspire you to get your memories documented with the beautiful HOMETOWN USA collection!

TROPICAL VACATION - Doodlebug Designs

 Summertime in the city is fun, but Summertime at a beach is a dream!   The warm weather, and yearning for a vacation had me pull the beautiful SEASIDE SUMMER collection to document  a memory from one of our tropical vacations with our family.

How cute is this page!?!   And it came together so easily, it took -literally- a short time. I simply  let the embellishments and papers work their magic here.

I started by trimming my cardstock to 10.5x12 in, then added pieces from the Let's Luau paper to the left and right side of the page.   I added the long scalloped sticker to the left of the page.   I then added the small stamp seal from  the Chit Chat pack and a few extra embellishments to the top edge of this side. The  flower Sprinkles bring an extra pop of the tropics to this corner of the page.

I backed the photo with papers from the collection, and set it  a bit to the right on the center of the page.  Since the sea is to the left of the photo, I decided to extend the water  feel by adding a few embellishments to the left of the photo.

I layered lots of embellishments from the collection to the right of the photo.  I wanted a large cluster that would hug the right edge of the photo.  I started with the tag, then the flowers, and to finish the palm trees in the background.   The cluster gave me the perfect spot for a title.  Once again, I am using Chit Chat, stickers, and more Doodle Pops to complete the large cluster look on this spread.

I finished my page by adding a few Sprinkles to the page.  I just love how it turned out!  The beautiful SEASIDE SUMMER collection is sure to bring  a taste of paradise to your projects.

SMALL FORMAT DOCUMENTING with HOMETOWN USA - Doodlebug Design

Summer is here, and the vibrant HOMETOWN USA collection is sure to help you document your memories regardless of the size and format of your choice.  Though, I keep 12x12 scrapbook layouts, my heart is in small format (traveler's notebooks and 6x8 albums) for my daily documenting.  So, when I saw the new Doodle  Cut die sets, the idea for this spreads came together,.

I love how these entries turned out using the die cut pieces along with embellishments from the collection.

First, I use the new Festive Florals Metal Die set to create my jar of flowers for my layout.   I used the the die and papers from the 6x6 paper pad, as well a papers from the Petite Prints 6x6 paper pads.   I wanted to create the frosted look of a glass, so I decided to back the jar die cut with vellum.

I complemented the rest of the layout with pieces from the collection, I made sure to add small clusters of Sprinkles to tie it all together.

For my next spread, I chose to work with the new Pocket Full O' Pride Metal Die for my spread.  This time, I used the dies to help me create a grid style design for my page.

I started by cutting all the pieces for my little pocket using the die and papers from the Hometown USA 6x6 paper pad, and cardstock.   I created 3 pockets, two of them are set on the right of the page.  Once the flowers were in place, I added a few pieces of ChitChat to help me tell the story.

I finished this spread by adding my photo atop the last pocket.  Then used Bits and Pieces and a few extra stickers to complete the spread.  I love how these turned out, and I hope they inspire your next project featuring HOMETOWN USA!

FUN FAMILY REUNION - Doodlebug Designs

We are heading into Summer, warmer weather, ice cream. and all things sunny and nice.  And, though I am not in the USA, the new HOMETOWN USA collection is perfect to document your adventures, Summer stories, and others. Let's take at I have created for my first project with it

Though the color combination is true Americana, it also vibrant and so ideal for documenting one of those infamous Covid family picnics.

I started by choosing simple patterns from the 12x12 papers, and trimmed them into chevrons.  I set them at the very top of white cardstock.   I wanted them to point directly to the photos of the kids spending time together.

Next, I used the 6x6 paper pad to frame the photos, and set them in place.   I added just a few embellishments around the photos themselves, but decided to create a large title that will help balance the page.

I love Chit Chat packs, there is always a sentiment that matches the story.  I combined a few extra pieces from the Bits and Pieces and Odds & Ends packs to make the title pop a bit more.

To tie everything together, I added a few of the little birds and sprinkles all over each of the clusters. I love how the silver foiling just pops amongst these colors.

EMERGENCY VISIT - Doodlebug Designs

 We  all have experienced those unfortunate events when one of your loved ones had to make a visit to the ER (Emergency Room).  Sometimes they are small health issues, and some times they require extra care.  Regardless of the hospital stay, it is always nice to have a way to document those moments, and the new  HAPPY HEALING collection is just perfect for it.   I am so glad that I had the collection at hand to document my young cousins appendectomy emergency surgery.

I started with the On The Mend paper for the background on the page.  Then added two left over pieces from the Happy Healing paper to the left and right of the page.  I then trimmed a 6x6 paper in half and tuck it under the larger strips. Next, I attached one of the sticker borders to the inside edge of the larger strips.

I placed the photos on the center of the page, then it was all about adding embellishments to bring the story to life.  

There are so many cute embellishments in this collection, it was easy to mix and match a few of them in clusters around the page.   I made sure that the small red cross repeated in each of the clusters as a way to tie the page together,

To finish my page, I used pieces of Chti Chat  to create the title for this page. I added a few hear embellishments to the title.  Then glued a few silver sprinkles to  each of the clusters.

I love how this turned out, and I hope it gives you inspiration for a project of your own featuring the beautiful Happy Healing collection.

DOCTOR FOR A DAY - Doodlebug Designs

If both your parents work in the medical field, then you are bound to try to be like them in a way or another.   So, when the new HAPPY HEALING collection arrived at my doorstep, I knew exactly which pictures of my littlest Goddaughter I was going to use for my first project.

I just love how this turned out!, but let me walk you on how I built this page using the new collection. There are so many cute embellishments, I focus on them for  my page.

I started with one of the coordinating solid cardstock from the collection as a base, and frame it with the Happy Heart paper.   Then, trimmed a small strip of the Happy Healing patterned paper and adhere to the base as an anchor  for my photos.

Then it was  all about going through the Bits and Pieces, Odds & Ends for embellishments for the page.  I wanted to create a column of  embellishments that will just bring the fun to this page.

I have to say that the silver foiling in this collection is amazing!   Once I  had all the embellishments in a column., I added small puffy hearts around the embellishments.

To finish my page, I pulled pieces of Chit Chat and Bits and pieces to create the title of my page.  The silver alpha stickers are just a great compliment to the title of this layout.

I  just love how this turned out!  The fun designs, the colors, the silver foiling, and the cute pictures are just so perfect together.  I cannot wait to see what you create with the new HAPPY HEALING collection!
