SHAKER CARDS - Doodlebug Design

I think all of us love all the cute Doodle Pops, especially the shaker ones.  But, now we can make them ourselves with the new  Doodlebug Shakers Balls.   What can I say, besides there are infinite possibilities with them.  My first choice was to create a few cards with them:

I pulled my Doodle Cuts Nested Scallops, Bunny Hop collection, the Easter Card set, and foam adhesive!

I started by using the large die to cut  the shape out of patterned paper and also a few pieces of white cardstock.   I stacked and glued them together, with a piece of acetate between them.   Then I used foam adhesive to create a close circle around the open space.   I filled the shaker with the Flowers Shaker, the adhere the die cut to the card.   I added a piece of Chit Chat and Bits and Pieces to complete the card.

I used the left over piece of the die cut to  create  my next card.  I adhere a piece of acetate to the back of the die cut piece, then added foam adhesive to create a dam for all the shaker pieces.  I mixed a few colors of shakers, then secured it to the card.   I added a sentiment and a simple sentiment and embellishment to complete this card.

For the last card, I used the flower shape of the  die set to cut 9 pieces from white cardstock, and three from  patterned paper.   I sandwiched acetate pieces between two layers of the die cuts to get  3 of each of the colors.  Next, I filled the color die cuts with solid color shakers, and the white die cuts with the flower shakers.  These are adhere to a white card in alternate form.   Finally, I added a small sentiment to complete this card.

I cannot wait to keep on creating with the new shakers  I  have so many ideas just waiting to come together.  Cannot wait to  see what you create!!

EASTER FAMILY FUN - Doodlebug Design

Time is passing so fast, and we are all getting ready to celebrate Easter!   Though my kids are not little anymore, I still have so many memories of all the times they loved all things bunny for this holiday.  So, I pulled a few pictures and the fun BUNNY HOP collection to create this layout.

I wanted to pull colors and patterns to my layout, so the idea of creating a sunburst design just popped in my mind.

I pulled some 12x12 paper pieces and 6x6 Paper Pad pieces, and trimmed them into long triangles.   I made sure that I had two of each  -for most of them-, and then started playing with them to create   the formation you see in the photo..

I set them on white cardstock, making sure that they sat on the top right quarter of the page.   I used a bit of foam adhesive to raise the ends of each triangle; this help to separate them bringing texture, dimension and interest to the page.

I added one of the border stickers to the edge of the sunburst formation, this helps to encase the papers. Then, I set the photos at the junction of all the paper tips ( the photos are framed with a paper from the 6x6 paper pad).   I added a few stickers to the top left corner of the photos  following the line of the paper strips.

To balance the page, I am using the bottom left quarter of the page to create my title.  Here I mixed pieces from the Chit Chat pack and a few stickers. I made sure that the title was long so it sat under the photos.  I added  a few Sprinkles throughout the page, making sure they helped to bring your eye to specific areas of the page.

I love how this turned out, and it was so much fun to play with paper for this design. I hope it inspires you to use the BUNNY HOP collection for your next project!

BUNNY SMILES

It has been  a long winter season, and  I am so looking forward to a change of weather and Easter.   So, when the new BUNNY HOP collection arrived, I quickly pulled the perfect pictures to document with this beautiful collection.

How cute is this!!  I had an idea of weaving paper for a page, and when I saw the  color stripes in  the Bunny Hop paper, I  quickly put this together.

I trimmed just one strip of each of the colors in the Bunny Hop paper, then weaved then on slight angle.  I glued them onto white cardstock, and trimmed the excess white cardstock.   I framed the page with the Everything Easter paper.

First, I set my title in place.  For this, I mixed Chit Chat with Gold Alphabet Soup  to create my title, and placed it in the top left quarter of the page,   I combined a few pieces Bits and Pieces with stickers to add a small floral cluster here.

Next, I cut two tags and used them as layers behind my photo.   I set them on my page on an offset following the angle  of the paper strip.  I repeated the flower cluster and a few extra stickers.

Next, I added one last cluster at the left bottom corner of the photos.   I pulled two bunny die cuts and added a  few extra details to this cluster.  I completed my page with a few Sprinkles

I love how this turned out, and I cannot wait to continue using the beautiful BUNNY HOP collection to document my memories

Pinkfresh Studio February 2024 “Pure Joy” Release

Hi there!

Welcome to PINKFRESH STUDIO FEBRUARY 2024 "PURE JOY" RELEASE.  We are celebrating this amazing release with lots of inspiration and prizes.   You can find a list of all the participants at the bottom of this post for your convenience

There are so many beautiful products available in this release, and it was super fun and tricky to just choose a few to play with.   I settled for the Dotted Petals Press Plate and  Cherry Blossoms die for this layout:

I just love the combination of these two products in this layout.  The movement in the Cherry Blossom die cuts was the inspiration for this page.

For all my die cuts, I am only using the Cherry Blossom die, but varying the colors of the flowers and leaves.  I used coordinating cardstock in shades of pink, blush, and peach to create all my flowers.  Then two shades of green and brown  to create the stems and leaves.

I wanted a soft look for the flowers and a soft change in the colors for this page.  It was fun to put this together.

Next, it was all about building the background.  For this, I chose the Dotted Petals Press Plate. Using Detail Black Ink, I created two panels on Pinkfresh Studio Watercolor paper ( soon to be available).   I carefully trim around the panel so that I can have that scalloped edge around it.   My idea was to have it in the center of the page, so, I cut one of the panel in half and set them in a straight line across the patterned paper.

Next, I used the Cherry Die cuts to weave them down the vertical column of Dotted Petal panels.  I made sure to use just one color of Cherry Blossoms per section.   Next came the photo, and a few embellishments from Lovely Blooms, and  Garden Bouquet collections.  OF course, I needed a pop of gold, so, I used Metallic Gold pearls around the page.

I just love how this turned out! And I hope it inspires you to check the entire release, it truly is amazing!!

To celebrate the new release, Pinkfresh Studio is hosting a generous giveaway

1. They will be giving away the full release on their blog and YouTube channel (one full release on each post)

LOVE YOU - Doodlebug Design

February is not over, so we keep celebrating love and all the lovable things in our lives.  For me, it is probably my sweet baby boy, aka our 13yr old Boston Terrier.   So, what better way than to use the fun LOTS OF LOVE collection for it.

I started with cutting two hearts from the patterned papers ( I drew a heart on copy paper, and used it as a template for the patterned paper hearts).   I wanted contrasting, but simple designs so that they will stand out on the page.

I set them on an offset at the center of  my base and then frame the entire page with a contrasting paper.  I added a bit of foam adhesive behind the corners of the hearts to add dimension to the page.   I added my photo next at the junction of the two hearts.

I am using all the flowers that I could find to embellish my layouts.   The flower swag was just perfect for adding details to the edges of the hearts.  I then added larger clusters of Bits and Pieces to the top of the hearts

I added small phrase stickers to each of the clusters, and a few sprinkles to just complete the cluster.   I then added a few extra embellishments to my photo.  The cute stamp washi tape is amazing!!

To finish the page, I used Chit Chat pieces to create my title.  I added a few extra stickers to make the title pop a little bit more, and completely balance my page.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for your next project with the beautiful LOTS OF LOVE collection.  Cannot wait to see what you create!

SO HAPPY TOGETHER _ Doodlebug Designs

February is here! And that means all things sweet and lovely are around us.  So what better way to document those loving memories with the beautiful LOTS OF LOVE Collection.  I love the colors in this collection, and play with a fun idea for this layout

I wanted something that was going to show contrast on the page.  So, I cut a half circle from the Hugs & Kisses paper, then folded the cut down to create the flap on the page.

To create the contrast, I cut a circle of  the same size from the teal paper, and glued it to the flap.  I  then added two eyelets to bottom of the flap, and used Doodle Twine  to hold hold the flap together.  Those cute snails from the Doodlepops were the perfect addition at the end of the twine.

I used Petite Prints to back the empty space, then framed the layout with the teal cardstock from the texture cardstock coordinating set.

I set my photos to the left of the empty half circle - these were framed with a paper from the 6x6 paper pad-.  Then it was all about embellishing... I took advantage of it all to create a cluster to the right of the photos, so that they curl into the flap.

Next, I created a cluster at the left side of the flap.  Here, I added my title using a piece of Chit Chat and a few extra embellishments.

A few enamel dots, and the small flower garland at the bottom of the flap complete this page.  I love how it all turned out!!  Remember to check the LOTS OF LOVE collection!!

HELLO WINTER - Doodlebug Design

The Winter weather here in Canada is truly showing off! And though we love snow, we are happy to be indoors  playing the beautiful SNOW MUCH FUN COLLECTION to document  a few memories of snowy, but not so cold days!  Let me show you what I have created.

My baby loves fresh snow, and I wanted to take advantage of all the colors and patters in the collection to bring a layered look to the page.

I started by cutting paper strips from the 6x6 paper pad and layering on white textured cardstock.  My idea was of snowflakes falling, so why not paper layers!!  I simply drew a line on the cardstock, then glued the top row of paper strips, then kept tucking strips under them until they formed this paper cascade.   I added one of the scalloped border stickers to the starting point of the paper strips as a way to anchor them and the photos to the page.

I added two photos of my little one at the top of the scalloped border.  A bit of an offset helps to bring extra embellishments and sentiments to the page.   I love all the embellishments in this collection, so it was easy to put this together.

I set the title of the page to the left of the photos.   I loved the trees, especially since my baby is outdoors.  So, I pulled a few Bits and Pieces and mixed them with a Chit Chat piece for the title.  I then started adding a few snowflakes to each of the major clusters in the page,

I addded a smaller cluster of stickers at the bottom right corner of the page in hopes to balance the page, and also add a bit extra interest.    To finish the page, I added Sparkles to the center of each of the snowflake stickers. All I need are a few journal lines and voila!

I just love how this turned out!  The SNOW MUCH FUN COLLECTION is sure to bring those warm happy feelings to your cold winter day memories!
