DOCUMENTING EVERYDAY - Scrapbook Nerd

Hi there!
Today, i am sharing a few pages of my Everyday Family album using new products arriving at the Scrapbook Nerd shop.  I had requested the new LIVE LIFE HAPPY from Pebbles, and Joy was able to get it all for me!  I am a lover of combining Black and white with a rainbow, so i wanted this happy collection to help me document my day, especially since the theme of this week is RELAX.

I started with the basic paper pack from Echo Park's I Am Mom collection for the base of the page, then cut one of the Live Life Happy papers to create the large chevron that spans through the pages.

I added my pictures -after backing them with papers from the Pebles collection and added embellishments from the collection and also Pinkfresh Studio's My Favorite story and Rosie's Paper phrase embellishments ( A must for paper crafting!!!)

I used the chevron line to create my lines of journal using the alphas and stickers from the PFS My Favorite Story collection, and added my lines of journal to the inside of the chevron space.

Here is another layout created with the new Pebbles collection.  This time, i chose the yellow paper as the base of my page ( I Am Mom Basic Paper pack) and decided to create a horizontal design this time around!

Who doesn't love a rainbow!!!  i pretty much used papers and embellishments from the collection to create my design.  The cute stickers are just awesome, and thought perfect for this pictures of the hubby relaxing!

I created a pocket from the 6x8 paper pad, and used some of the 2x2 cut aparts to add some interest to the pocket.  I just added my lines of journal to a tag and completed the page by adding a simple title ( the white puffy stickers from the Pebbles collection are amazing) and viola!

Remember to check all the materials used in the Scrapbook NErd shop ( all the materials used in these spreads is available at their on line shop!)

Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Paeonia Japonica & Watercolor Brush Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there!
Welcome to the Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Paeonia Japonica & Watercolor Brush Marker Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You are arriving from Amber's blog - a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post, for your convenience-

So excited to welcome Altenew's new Paint-A-Flower: Paeonia Japonica along with the new Watercolor Brush Markers: Autumn Festival Set.  These new additions to the Altenew family are sure to bring the artist in you.  So, for today's project i decided to mix both the new products into one new layout for my family album

I decided to use Antique Gold embossing powder to create the images of the flowers on heavy cardstock.   The detailed design of the stamp is perfect to bring color and movement to the the layout.

I used the new Watercolor Brush Markers (Autumn Festival set) to detailed and color each of the flowers.  Since i have a yellow background to work on, i decided to use the new  Ultramarine marker to add a touch of blue to the page.  The centers of the flowers got a touch of Mango Smoothie while the leaves were created with a combination of the two green shades,

I took my time fussy cutting out the images, to avoid having large white spaces in the image.   Even though i color three images of the flowers, i only used two of the images on the page, as they framed the images nicely.

To finish the layout, i added a title using the sentiments from the stamp set, followed by a few enamel dots that match the colors of the flowers, and papers.

I hope this has given you a new idea on how to combine the new Paint-a-Flower: Paeonia Japonica and the new Watercolor Brush Markers in your memory keeping.

RAINBOW SMILE - Simple Stories

Hello  friends!
Nathalie with you today with a new project that brings all the shades of the rainbow to a page.   The new Color Vibe collection is not just a companion to the amazing Simple Stories collections, but also the best and colorful collection to bring a rainbow to a page.  Let me show you!

All the new texture cardstock of the Color Vibe collection creates the color and interest in the page.  I started with a cut file from Handipaper.   I used papers from the Color Vibe Brights and Color Vibe Lights to back the rainbow and large floral of the cut out.  A bit of foam adhesive helps to add dimension to the cut out.

In addition, i used the same papers to back separate floral diecuts making sure i used the same Color Vibe papers for it.   The texture in the cardstock brings extra interest to the diecuts.

I used Color Vibe Basic and Color Vibe  Lights to back the pictures of my little one, and decided to use the Warm White Color Vibe as the background.  Once i attached the picture and rainbow to the page, i added the small floral clusters along with sticker embellishments from the I AM 2020 collection and Magical Birthday collection in coordinating colors.

To complement the colors in the rainbow design on the page, i decided to use Color Vibe Foam Alphas (Pink, Coral, Orange, Yellow, Green, Robin's Egg and Teal) and the  Color Vibe Basics Alpha Sticker alpha.  But before gluing the title down, i created a strip of all the papers i used on the page as a way to anchor the title to the page.

This page is just a small burst of color, and all created with the new COLOR VIBE collections.  Be sure to check the cardstock and foam alphas you will love them!!

JULY 2020 CHALLENGE - Pinkfresh Studio

Hi there!

It is time for a new challenge for Pinkfresh Studio.  This month we are celebrating SUMMER with a fun color palette and the gorgeous Let's Stay Home collection.

Though i am not a fan of red, i really love how  it  brought so much vibrancy to the page, so i decided to mix it with the other colors to soften it a bit, and the best way to do it is with watercolor.

I used Aquamarine, Sky Blue, Clementine, Candy apple and Bubble Gum Liquid Watercolor ( all Pinkfresh Studio) to construct the color background for the page.

To bring more of the color palette to the page, i decided to use the  new Rubber Cling on: Popout Chevron background to heat embossed the chevrons to the side of the page.  This took a bit of help form a stamping platform, as i first stamped the PFS dye ink, then added embossing ink and crystal clear embossing powder on top .  IF you see up close the texture of the chevrons resembles water droplets - this was a result of the two inks mixing-.

I used papers and embellishments from the Let's Stay Home collection to back the two pictures of the kids at the pool.  I made sure to chose papers that followed the color order, i have on the background, so that i can easily add embellishments in a tone-on-tone fashion.  With so many embellishments it was so easy to create clusters at the photo corners.

To bring some of the pink of the palette, i trimmed the page about 1/2 in from the bottom, and added a strip of the pink Chevron in its place.  I used this area to add my title, trying to combine all the colors and embellishments of the day!

Just love how this turned out with the red and all!  Make sure to check the Pinkfresh Studio blog for more details on the challenge ( you could win prizes to the PFS shop), and all the materials i used in this page.

XOXO

LOVE YOU - Scrapbook Nerd

Hi there!
We are in July already, and like much of the world, we are slowly starting to restart our new normal life here in Toronto, after almost 4  months in quarantine.  Well, that has meant that birthday celebrations have move to a more  virtual way. So, i pulled a few pictures from my little sister (23 rd ) birthday to create this layout for Scrapbook Nerd.

I started with a cut file from Handipaper ( my friend Inna has beautiful cut files in her shop), and used Pink Paislee's Bloom Street to back all the flower spaces.  Once i had it ready, i tied a tag from Heidi Swapp's  Honey and Spice collection at the bottom of the flowers ( this serves as a title).

For the base of the page, i cut a piece of paper from the Magical Forest paper pad ( Crate Paper) to serve as the base of the layout, and glued the cut file to it, then added one small butterfly sticker.  For the other half of the page, i baked the pictures with a paper from Bloom Street and once i glued it to the background, added my journal  below it.

I added a few more stickers to the page, and a second butterfly at the side of the pictures to complete the spread.  Just love how it turned out.

Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials i used in this page, there are new goodies always arriving at the shop!

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Primrose Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello there!
Welcome to the  Altenew Build-A-Flower: PRIMROSE Release Blog Hop + Giveaway.  You are arriving from Nicole Watt's blog - a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post for your convenience-

Today, Altenew is releasing a new amazing Build-A-Flower stamp set.  This month's BAF: PRIMROSE Stamp and Die set is a dream.  Not only does it create beautiful images, but it is easy to layer and can be easily customize to fit your paper crafting projects.  Let me show you how i used the stamp set on a scrapbook layout:

A rainbow of Primroses creates the soft swag of blooms on this page all about my daughter.  I just wanted to bring a rainbow on the page, so i customize my Primroses using inks from the Spring Bouquet, Summer Afternoon, Tea Party, Rose Petal, Green Meadows, Shades of Purple and Glacier Caves Mini Ink Cube sets and Obsidian Black ink.

I added a bit of white paint to the background of the craft embossed cardstock, and while it dried, i used papers from the Reflections Scrapbook collection to back the picture.

I used foam adhesive to attach all the blooms forming the swag and following the rainbow color order.  I added a bit of white gel pen to the center of each of the flowers to accent the small details.  i added small enamel dots and epoxy butterflies in between the flower clusters.

To finish my page, i heat embossed the sentiment of the BAF:Primrose and cut it into paper strips.  I used a bit of foam adhesive to make it stand out.  All that was left to do was add a few lines of journal and extra embellishments.

I hope this inspires you to check a few more ideas of what you can create with the Build-a-Flower: Primrose set.   Remember you can always take advantage of the Subscription program to have the BAF stamps delivered at your doorstep each month
