Life Doesn't Have To Be Perfect To Be Wonderful

Hello there!

I have debated about sharing this layout, but i think just like the title, I have to show you the wonderful results when accidents happen.  The layout was created to look like the picture on top(I usually photograph my work as soon as I am finished - if there is good light), however as I  was cleaning all the material, i knocked the bottle of color shine on the bottom part of the layout, so I had to quickly cut the bottom part so i can save it.   Then I was left with the debacle of what to do with the page.. SO  here is what i did:

Since I had stitched the cut file (backed with the papers from this month's Stories main Kit from Citrus Twist Kits) to the white cardstock as to form banners along with the sticky note flags from the Maggie Holmes collection, it was easy to cut the banner out of the cardstock.   I think the little layer of cardstock helps to add dimension.

Then glued it to a paper from Paige Evans' Turn the Page collection from last month's CTK kits ( i had run out of all the patterned paper from this month's kit).  The accident actually helped to bring the detail in the cut file more once it was glued to patterned paper.

Then I just cut the picture out of the original layout, and glued it back on this page (all the clusters are made up from the exclusive pieces from this month's  CTK kit).   Then just used some splatters to finish the page.  Here is the new layout:

I love the picture ( this is what a true portrait of my kids and the littles looks like!), and the new layout is just an echo of the title.  I guess things always happen for a reason!!!

Hello Beautiful You

Hope you are all doing well.   Been so busy lately with some deadlines (there are some amazing news in the upcoming months!), but i wanted to take time to share this project created with a few of the November Kits from Citrus Twist Kits -just love what Trina puts together each month-

This page was all inspired by the color combination in this paper from the Dear Lizzy's Star Gazer collection.  I bought the Patterned paper kit for this paper in particular!.   I pulled a pair of scissors and fussy cut the roses from the paper, being careful to cut some of the leafs, also.

Next I mixed some acrylic paint until I matched closely the navy blue tone in my daughter's shirt.   Once this dried,  i used a stencil to add a bit of gold paste around the page, and started adding the cur flowers as to frame the picture of my daughter ( gotta love all the exclusive embellishments form Citrus Twist Kits that form the clusters around the picture)

For the title, I used the large paintable chipboard word, from Dear Lizzy that are included in the "Wild Thing" add-on kit from Citrus Twist kits.  A bit of gold watercolor on the word brings the gold tones in the layout.  To complete the title, I used the alphas included in this month's PL kit, as well as one of the exclusive chipboard sticker to complete the page.

I love, love how  this came together so easily.    That is the beauty of working with coordinating kits, though there are 4 kits being used in this layout, they have been curated to that they work cohesively together.   Love this month's Citrus Twist Kits!!

I hope you are doing well!

Today I just want to share with you all a new layout created with this month's Stories  main kit from Citrus Twist Kits, and the exclusive cut file.    What can i say, this month's kit is gorgeous and the exclusives are to die for!

This layout was inspired by the left over pieces from the many cuts while designing the cut file!.     So i decided to create a layout that used the negative pieces in a creative way.

It all started by creating the cut out for this page.   I simply created a "S Shape in the mat, and send it to cut.  Then used some of the papers in the kit to back the cut out, making sure to glue all the pieces that held the leaf firmly to the mat.   Little pieces of foam adhesive behind the leaves create all the dimension in the layout.

My love of large titles is evident in the cut file design.  This time i chose the same Creekside paper to back the letters as well as the picture.   A bit of foam adhesive  adds that lovely shade under the title.

To emphasize the colors behind the leaves, I chose to color block the embellishments on the picture, and then add a few splatters of gold ink complete this page:
