GHOUL FRIENDS - Doodlebug Design

We are getting closer and closer to all things spooky and  fun!  So, today, I am going to share how I am using the colorful and beautiful Hey Pumpkin collection to create  a scrapbook layout that will hold my Goddaughters' photos for this year.  Let's take a look at the project:

I love graphic designs with straight and  repeating elements.  I played with them for this spread, and loved the weaved effect on the page.

I started by cutting strips from the Hey Pumpkin paper, then weaved them on top  of the Eek!paper. Once I secured them, I trim the paper to 11x11 and framed it with the Moonlight Magic paper.  The placement of the lines creates the perfect spot for everything else.

I am using papers from the 6x6 paper pad to frame the photos, and then added them to the top left corner of the layout.   The photos are on a slight angle so that they pop from the straight lines of the background.

I kept my embellishments subtle and added pieces from This & That , Odds & Ends to the corners of the photos.  There is so much already on the page that  works better to keep it simple this time.

To finish the page, I mixed Chit Chat with a few stickers at the bottom right corner of the page.  This helps balance the page as well as help with the design in the weaved paper strips.  A few sprinkles to add pops of color completes the spread.

I love how this turned  out, and I am ready to just add the photos come November 1st.  Be sure to take the pictures and then document them with the fun HEY PUMPKIN collection.

October is here, that means all things Halloween are popping everywhere! So, time to share inspiration featuring the fun and beautiful Spooky & Sweet collecton.   I love the colors  and design in this collection and wanted to use it to document photos from my little cousins on Halloween day,

I wanted a simple design that showcase color and design in a clean way.   I pulled a few papers and decided to build a cascade style layering for the layout,

I started by trimming the lilac cardstock from the cardstock assortment pack, this was trimmed to 11x11 and framed with the Taffy stripe paper.   I then pulled pieces from Moonlight Magic, Sweet & Spooky and Trick OTreat papers to create the long layers on the base.  

Oncet the layers were in place, I added my photos and anchor them to the page with a piece of the scalloped border from the This & Than sticker sheet.    I then used a combination of Doodlepops, Chit Chat, Puffy stickers to add interest to the top half of the page above the photo.

I added the Spooky Manor Doodlepop to the bottom of the paper layers and added puffy stickers and more phrase stickers from the This & That sticker sheet before building my title.

To finish the page, I used Chit Chat to create my title then added a few of the extra spiders from the Doodlepop set to complete my page.

GRATITUDE JOURNAL - Doodlebug Design

Fall is officially here -in the northern hemispher that is! Probably my favorite season as everything is so cozy and vibrant, and we get to celebrate major holidays. For us, here in Canada, Thanksgiving happens in October, that means my gratitude journal from last year needs to be completed before I start this year's album.   So what better way to get some of the last few entries completed with the beautiful Farmhouse collection.

I wanted to take advantage of the cut aparts in the Woodland Berries Paper to help me create my pages with ease and beautiful results.

 

My focus was the 3x8 journaling cards in the paper as they are the perfect size for my 6x8 album,but also provide plenty of room for story telling and a beatiful companion to my photos

I started with combining the design on the journaling card with papers for my layout.  I am using the Fall Floral paper to extend the card edge (it also helps with adding my perforations) to the edge next  to the Country Pumpkins paper.  I added my photo and uses Chit Chat, Bits & Pieces, Odds & Ends, and  This & That stickers to add embellishments to the page.

For this entry, I am using the pool color in the design of the edge of the card to bring it all together.   THe color and tone on tone design in the Farmhouse paper create a great background for my photo, and helped to make all the details in the clusters pop nicely in the spread.

I added a second journaling card to the back of the previous spread to create the journaling insert for this spread, then combined with a pocket page layout.  The cards in the Colors of Fall paper are just perfect to complete the spread.
