Today, Thankful and Grateful

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbookingstore.com  - TODAY, THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL -

Hello there!

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Scrapbookingstore.com about creating a project using their upgraded November kit.  Since I had a bit of time between assignments, i agreed, and here is the first page created with this kit.

The kit contain papers and die-cuts from the Authentique Pleasant collection which are rich in Fall colors and motifs, and perfect to document the season.  Since the company was kind enough to send an updated kit, I also received a set of stickers from Pink Paislee's Auburn Lane collection, and another one from Studio Calico as well as some antique lace from Bo Bunny.

I love fall, so the kit was perfect to document some of my memories.   For this, i pulled a cut file from Handipaper (from my digital library) to create the pumpkins in the background.

I used the papers and cardstock in the kit  to back the pumpkins and leaves using a bit of foam adhesive in some of them so that there is dimension in them.  To break some of the orange in the cut out, I used one of the stickers to back the rose in the cut out.

To soften the background of this page, I started with a bit of gesso on cream cardstock included in the kit, and then used Vicki Boutin acrylic paint (that matched the blue tone in the stickers) to add a soft color to the background.  Then finished the look with paint and gold ink splatters.

All the stickers and die cuts in the kit were perfect to layer around and create some clusters around the page.    I brought the gold thicker word from my stash, and then accent it with some of the kit stickers to complete my title.  I love how this turned out!

Remember to stop by Scrapbookingstore.com to check the kit, it truly is perfect to document the season.   As always i am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

So Blessed

Scrapbook Layout created for JustNick Studio  -  SO BLESSED -

Hello everyone!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout that uses a few of the beautiful JustNick Studio cut file designs to document my biggest blessings, my children!

To create the background i copy and welded the Fussy Foliage Background cut file a few times so  that it fit the 12x12 format, and then drew an oval to crop it from the center of the page.   The background was cut from white cardstock and then,   I used Pink Paislee's Auburn Lane collection to back the larger leaves.

Next, to frame the oval center,  the oval frame in the Gratitude cut file was copied and welded to form the frame in the page.  This was cut from white cardstock, and attached to the page with a bit of foam adhesive.

A few flowers were fussy cut from papers from the collection, and then layered behind the picture. To bring some of the white from the frame and background, i used the the Grateful cut file to cut some of the leaves and layered them between  the floral images.

A few small stickers and embellishments from the collection were added in small clusters around the picture.  A small title was then added so that the focus remains the picture of my babies.

This layout took less than an hour to put together and I love how it all turned out! Remember to check all the cut files and all the new designs used in this page at the Just Nick Studio store.  As always let me know if you have any questions on how this came together.

Grateful for YOU

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - GRATEFUL FOR YOU -

Hi there! This week, we have asked the DT to showcase the beautiful Pink Paislee's "Auburn Lane" collection in their projects.   This collection has a fall color palette, modern designs, and some beautiful floral illustrations that are perfect to embellish a page.   The secret is to fussy cut each of the floral images so that they can be used as decorations in your page.

The floral images on  paper #3 and #6 of the collection were carefully cut (fussy cut) so that they can be used as layered embellishments that form a large cluster of flowers in the  page.

The secret to creating this embellishments is to detail cut the images from the paper.   In this case, paper #3  has a dark background, so each image was cut around its edge, so that none of the dark background shows in the image.  At the same time, paper #6 has a white background, so a very small white border was left around the image - this just helps to separate the images when layering them on the layout.  The following process video will showcase how this page came together:

All those fussy cut florals are the focal point of this page, and bring plenty of interest to the layout that minimizes the use of other embellishments.

Really love how this page turned out using the large fussy cut floral elements.   All the florals create the perfect background for this cherished memory of my family.
I hope this inspires you to create your own embellishments by fussy cutting embellishments off your patterned papers.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions on how this came together,  Remember to check all the materials used in this page at Scrapbook Nerd.

 Take care,
