BEACH, SAND and SUMMER SUNSHINE - JustNick Studio

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout that celebrates Summer.   With so many beautiful cut files in the JustNick Studio shop, sometimes all it takes is a bit of mixing and matching to bring your ideas to live.  This is one of them!

Love a large title layout!  To create this page, i reached for the   Beach Sand SurfSunshine on my Mind and Summer cut files.   I played with the words -in the Silhouette software) to create  a vertical design that had movement and could be quite colorful.

It all started with adding a bit of mixed media to the background -Vicki Boutin Art Crayon-, while this set, i used the Silhouette Cameo to weld the words in the title and cut it from white cardstock.

I used the machine to also cut the letters to fill the cut out from colorful papers from the Pebbles' Oh Summertime collection.  This helped when backing the title.

I added the picture at the bottom of the page, right under the title and used some of the collection's stickers and ephemera pieces to embellish the page.  I love how this turned out, all the colors scream summer, and the large title is perfect for the picture of some of my family while in vacation..

Remember to check the JustNick Studio Shop for all these cut files and the many more added  weekly.   If you have a question on how this came together, please contact me!

SPRING HAPPY - Scrapbook Nerd

Hi there!

Spring is finally here, or so i hope!  So what better way to start celebrating it than to bring color and lightness to your pages.   For this, i pulled the new Pinkfresh Studio Everyday Musings collection to create a new project for Scrapbook Nerd.

I love large bold titles, so this be cut file from Handipaper was the perfect starting point for  this page.   It was all backed with papers from the collection and set on foam adhesive so that it stands out on the page.

To have all the details in the title and picture stand out, i chose to add a bit of mixed media to the background.   So a bit of white paint and VIcki Boutin art crayon was added to one of the collection papers before the title and picture were glued onto it.

To balance the title, i chose to create a large cluster of floral die cuts at the bottom right corner of the layout.   The combination of die cuts, ephemera pieces and stickers balances the page.  IN addition, small pops of red were added around the page to create visual triangles.  Here is the final layout:

Love how this turned out, having a single collection to work with makes it all a so much easier to create a cohesive layout in a small amount of time. Here is a video that shows how it all came together:

You can check all the materials used at Scrapbook Nerd, there are so many new products arriving at the store, Be Sure to stop by and check them all out!

SWEET GIRL - JustNick Studio

Hello everyone!
Nathalie with you today with a new sweet and darling project that uses a few of the JustNick Studio cut files to start a new scrapbook album for a new member of our family.

One of the perks of cut files is that you can mix and match them to create a cut file that is truly one-of-a-kind, so it's the case of the large heart in the background of this page.

To create the large background heart, i used the outline of one of the Patterned Hearts cut file and welded to the Pretty Paisley Floral Background ( i copy a few of this together so that they could fill the heart shape before welding them together).   While this cut in my Cameo, i added a bit of mixed media to the background -Vicki Boutin Art Crayons and Prima Pastel Metallic watercolors-

I backed the heart with vellum and some foam adhesive, and set it on top of the mixed media.   Then added the picture of my new baby cousin/goddaughter with a few embellishments all from Echo Park's Welcome Baby Girl collection  around it.

To create the title for this page, i used the Girl Power cut file, and set the words, "Sweet" and "Girl"  3 times from white cardstock. I glued the die cuts together -so that they resembled chipboard diecuts- and added a coat of shimmer watercolor to each of them.   A bit of foam adhesive and glue keeps them in place.

I love how easy this came together by creating my own one-of-a-kind background using the beautiful Just Nick Studio cut files.  All the cut files in the store are just the starting point for a new project, so make sure to check all the new designs arriving weekly.  AS always let me know if you have questions on how this came together.

Love Forever

Scrapbook Layout created for JustNick Studio  - LOVE FOREVER -

Hi there and Happy Valentine's Day to you!

Nathalie with you in time to celebrate a whole day dedicated to love and friendship.   Today, i wanted to share with you a new layout created with a few Just Nick Studio cut files, and so perfect to celebrate the love of my life.

I used the Lower Case Alpha cut file to create the title of the page.   The letters were cut from papers from JIllibean's Garden Harvest collection, and then stitched together to an offset of the letters -created out of white cardstock in the Silhouette software-.

To complete the title work, the word "forever" was also cut from one of the Garden Harvest collection using the  Love You Eternal cut file.  This was cut three times so that glued together they can create some dimension on the page.

Before the title was laid down on the page, a bit of color was added to the background using VIcki Boutin art crayons and an Echo Park stencil. This makes the title pop from the background.

To complement the page, i fussy cut lots of florals and leaves from papers in the collection, so I chose to cut a few branches using the Stems 5 cut file out of white cardstock, and used them to create the clusters around the page.

i love how this page came together, even when it took a bit of extra time, i call it a labour of love.
Remember to stop by the JustNick Studio shop to check all the cut files used in this project.  If you have any questions please contact me, i would love to help you.

Enoy your Valentine's Day!

So Very Grateful for You

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - SO VERY GRATEFUL FOR YOU -

Hi there!

It is Gratitude week at Scrapbook Nerd, and i used this opportunity to create a seasonal layout using a non- autumnal paper collection.   The secret to mixing the collection and theme together is to play with mixed media to bring some of those warm tones to your page.

A little bit of Vicki Boutin Art crayons were mixed to create what i would call gold tones with out the shine.  These were used as watercolors to create the soft background behind the cut outs in the layout.   A bit of Heidi Swapp gold color shine was then added to bring the shimmer and shine of the season to the page.

To create this page, I pulled a few cut files from Handipaper, and used Kaisercraft's Bloom collection to back the flowers and leaves in them.  To warm up the tones in the page, i also used the Fleur collection from Kaisercraft to back all the leaves in the branches of the cut out.

To accent all the colors in the page, and to bring a bit more of the textures of fall, a frame of woodgrain paper was used as strips at the side on the layout and in some of the clusters of this page.  Here is the final layout:

It was so easy to combine a few paper collections, with the beautiful cut files into this page,  I love how easy it was to put together, the following video will show you a bit of the process behind the project:

Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in this page, and you can always contact me if you have questions on how all this came together.
