Darling Just Believe in Yourself

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - DARLING JUST BELIEVE IN YOURSELF -

Hi there!

Today's series of projects are up on the Citrus Twist Kits blog.  I fell in love with the Ridge paper from Pinkfresh Studio's Indigo Hills 2 included in the Little Things kit, and wanted to use it to the max, so i created 2 very different pages using the one sheet as inspiration.

For the  first page, the Pinkfresh Studio liquid watercolors were used to create a bit of color shadow in the background of the cut outs created with one of this month's free CTK cut files.

The flowers of the cut file were backed using the b side of the paper and vellum.   I was very careful when cutting out the paper as i wanted to use the hexagons on the A side of the page.

I used embellishments from the Indigo Hills 2 ephemera, sticker and wooden sticker sheets as well as the Willow lane puffy stickers to decorate the page, then added a few stamped sentiment using this month's Add-on stamp around the page.

I love how this turned out, as it is soft and very muted just like the b side of the paper, the following video will show you how this was put together:

Stop by Citrus Twist Kits to check all the kits, and see you in the next post!!!

Taking My Sweet Time

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - TAKING MY SWEET TIME -

Hi there! It is time for my weekly inspiration for Scrapbook Nerd.  This time around I pulled the new Pinkfresh Studio Sweet and Simple collection to document an everyday picture of my little guy catching some zzz.

The background of this page was created on tbe b-side of one of the collection papers.   A bit of white acrylic paint, followed by some Distress Oxides yield the sky look of the page.

The cloud cut out comes from a cut file from Just Nick Studio, and the empty spaces were backed with papers from the collection.  A bit of foam adhesive creates that soft shadow, and helps to add movement to the page.

The picture was framed usingg embellishments from the collection, and the Let Your Heart Decide collection,  A bit  of gold colorshine and lines of journal complete this page:

Love the cleaniness of the page, and all the small details,   Those huge lemons slices are just perfect for summer.   Remember to check this new collection at Scrapbook Nerd, and do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions on how this was put together.

Real Life Captured

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - REAL LIFE CAPTURED -

Hello!

It is time for my weekly share for Scrapbook Nerd, and if you are a parent of a teenager then you will understand how hard it is to photograph them.   Well at least my kids are!  they are at the stage where the smile lasts 2 seconds, and then the frown last the day.   So i decided to make lemonade out of lemons, and created this page about this so awesome moment in their lifes.

I started by using a cut file from The Cut Shoppe, and backed it with papers from Pinkfresh Studio's A Case of the Blahs collection.  I truly love how on point this collection is especially when dealing with my failed days.

Before laying down the cut out on the mat (Bazzill embossed cardstock), I used a bit of Vicki Boutin's art crayon just to pop the colors of the stars.   A bit of foam adhesive adds dimension on this page, and creates that soft shadow on the background.

The clusters around the picture are made up of stickers and ephemera from the collection, and also from the Mix2 and Let your Heart Decide, both from Pinkfresh Studio.   A few extra details were added using the collection stamp.

For the title of this page, I used a combination of the collection's ephemera and alphas from the Mix 2 collection.   A few extra stamped sentiments and some lines of journal complete this page,

I cannot but chuckle every time i see the picture, and i think having the stars around the picture just makes it sillier.  Truly a clear representation of life with teenagers!

You can check all the  materials used in this layout at Scrapbook Nerd, there are so many new things arriving daily!

As always, I am around if you have questions on how this came together, just leave a comment, and i will be happy to assist you.

Til next time!

My Personal Jourrnal - WEEK 24

Hi there!!

It is amazing to see how much life changes day to day.   We are going from final exams for the kids to having a major kitchen reno so i totally forgot to update my blog with the entries for week 24.  So here we go:

I have been trying at best to put a dent in my CTK kits (though they are so lovely, i have lots of material arriving) so I used pieces from the June, July main and PL kits to create some of the entries this week.

As you can see we have a bit of World Cup fever, so be prepared to see lots of POrtugal jerseys in the next few weeks!

I love working in hybrid entries for my TN. Having digital stamps and cards from both CTK and In A Creative Bubble is a practical way to add  entries in my journal in a short time.  Plus they are easy to combine with any stamp, too!

Well that is for me today,  i will be back in a bit with the entries for week 25.

Take care!

Be Yourself

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - BE YOURSELF -

Hi there!

I am still wondering were October went, and how fast this year is flying!

There are still so many memories of my kids that need to be documented, but there are not enough hours in the day to do it!  But i keep on trying to squeeze time  for my memory keeping, and this time  i used it to create a project for Scrapbook Nerd all about my teenage son.

I fell in love with the new Pinkfresh Studio Boys Fort collection as soon as it was available.   The colors, and embellishments of the collection are ideal to document all those special men in your life.  For this page, I went for a watercolor background that will stand out in the contrast with the black/grey & White in the papers that frame the picture.  I simply layered  the paper strips (cut from the corner pieces of the papers)

The picture placed in the center of the page is nicely framed by the color in the background and all those fun pieces from the collection.   Those fabric banners can easily be transforned into flags by gluing a toothpick to the back of them.

All the fun embellishments come in handy when creating clusters  in the page.  The title for this page comes from the Mix 1 collection ( can never have enough embellishments).  After a few drop of white acrylic and black ink, here is final layout:

Love the look of this page (just wonder if a ruler would have helped to create straight lines for my journal)  and how easy it came together with a bit of watercolor and the entire collection.

Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in this page.  I am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!

Hey There

Scrapbook Layout created for JustNick Studio  - HEY THERE -

Hello there!
Nathalie here with a new layout that is all about my teenage son!.  I love my kids, but i find that it is easier to document my daughter, so this time,  I chose to create a page that combines the Positive One and Positive 3 Backgrounds to document my boy!

I wanted something that will bring the eye to the picture, and at the same time will be graphic and simple.   The Positive One and Positive Three backgrounds were perfect for what i had in mind, even when the design changed a bit along the way.

Firstly, I isolated a single cross from both the files.  Then used the cross from the Positive One file to sketch some crosses on half of the page, and used the same design  (in three different sizes) to cut some crosses from vellum.  I proceeded to poke holes in the sketched designs, and used thread to back stitch the designs.

Next i used the Positive 3 cut file's isolated cross to cut some designs out of the papers from the Boys Front collection from Pinkfresh Studio.  Once everything was cut, then a bit of foam adhesive was used to attach the crosses just to half of the page, as if they all were leading to the picture.

After the graphic background, just a few more details around the picture complete the page.

I love the final look of the page, along with the contrast in dimension, and it all was created by using the simple designs of the two cut files.   That is why i love cut files!!!

Remember to check the JustNick store for these, and all the rest of cut files available.  All the designs are so versatile, and you can easily create unique pages with them.  I am always a comment away, if you have a question on how this came together.

See you all around!

Dream Big

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits   -  DREAM BIG  -

Hello there!

Today, I am pulling double duty on a few blogs.   This time, the project created is for  Clique Kits using the beautiful Aquarelle Kit.  I have loved working with this kit, as it features the gorgeous Wild at Heart collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.     I have created a small process video on how this page came together, so sit down and enjoy a super condensed process:

The background of this project was created using a few of the Prima Marketing watercolor palettes.  Though the orientation of the original design changed as the layout progress,  the colors in the background bring the project to life.

Using the Clique Kits's January 2016 exclusive cut file, some butterflies were cut from white cardstock and vellum;  the rest of the butterflies come from the Mariposa paper in the collection.   Each cut out was backed with vellum , and machine sewn into the layout.

Once the butterflies were in place, a cluster was created on the very top of the page.  This completes the path created by the background, and it is the start of the visual triangle on this page.

I love to keep track of the kids development using a fixed object.  This time both my niece and daughter purchased the same bracelet.  "DREAM BIG" is what is spelled by the beads, so i chose to photograph their development using the bracelet as the focus point.   To bring the photograph to focus, just a few pieces from the collection, and exclusive printables were used in clusters around the page.

Finally, the title of this page was created using the copper Alphas from Pinkfresh Studio that are included in the kit.   After a few more small details, and a few journal lines, here is the final layout:

It is the simplicity of this page that is so attracting to me, not to mention is full of butterflies -one of my favorite things, ever-.   Remember to visit Clique Kits for the kits, cut files and exclusives used in this page.

I am always a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

Thanks for stopping by today!
