EASTER FUN - Simple Stories
Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout all about those sweet memories of Easter Egg hunts. I think we all have memories of our children (or younger us) enjoying all the egg hunt finds, and what better way to enjoy them than to document them with the new Simple Stories Hip Hop Hooray collection. It is just the perfect Easter and also Spring collection.
I created a simple design for the page so that i can mix all the beautiful paper colors and cute embellishments. First i used the Butterflies stencil and some white texture paste to create a few impressions on a piece of the 6x8 wood grain paper.
Since both my little (niece and nephew) are wearing bunny ears, i quickly chose the Hippity Hop paper for the background of the page. First i chose a strip of the Puddle Jumper paper as an anchor for the page. I decided to keep add a few more paper layers behind the paper strip from the 6x8 paper pad and Hello Peeps paper.
I used the Bunny Tails and Hello Peeps paper to back the pictures, and then set them on the wood grain paper piece ( once the texture paste impression had dried). I set the paper on the middle of the page and then started adding embellishments around the photos and paper strips. With so many cute and colorful embellishments it was easy to mix and match them on the page.
The cute little bunny embellishments are so adorable, and so perfect to embellish the title of the page. I combined the sentiments from the Bits and Pieces and Combo Sticker sheet to create the title at the bottom of the page. Here i added the bunnies and a few more embellishments in a large cluster. To finalize the page, I used the Hip Hop Hooray stamp set to add a few sentiments to the page.
I just love all the color and cheery nature of the page. The textures in the paste, papers and embellishments complement the picture of my littles nicely. I am sure that you are going to love documenting your Easter/ Spring memories with the new Simple Stories HIP HOP HOORAY collection, make sure to check it out!
Til' next time.

JOY
Scrapbook layout created for Simple Stories - JOY -
Hi there! Nathalie with you today to share with you a layout all about the most joyful time of the year, Christmas. The new Simple Stories collections are so festive and joyous that it was hard to chose which one to use to document a picture of my littles (niece and nephew). Well, after much debating, I went for the new MERRY and BRIGHT collection to create this page.
To build this page, I used a Paige Evans cut file to create the wreath base from the 4x6 Horizontal elements paper and vellum, and then handstitched them to the Sn@p Basic 12x12 Elk/Cream ledger paper.
Next the poinsettas were created using a cut file from Just Nick Studio from the It is a Wonderful Life paper and another paper from the 6x8 paper pad. To break some of the red, i used a paper from the High Style paper pad to cut a few poinsettas, too
The flowers were built and glued onto the page. Then i used a Silhouette design to cut the ivy and pine leaves that are layered under the flowers from the Joy and Happiness paper.
The picture was then added in the middle of the flower cluster, and then just a few embellishments from the chipboard, puffy and cardstock stickers were added around it. To finish the page, the title was created using a die cut piece from the Merry and Bright collection along with a few more stickers. A few gold and white ink splatters complete this page.
Love how this turned out, and i am sure my sister will be framing this page as a Christmas decor piece for her home. I hope you are all inspired to check the new Merry and Bright collection from Simple Stories, it is sure to help you record all your upcoming memories.
XO

Wild & Free
Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - WILD & FREE -
Happy New Year to you all!
Today, I am sharing a new layout created for Scrapbook Nerd. Since it is so cold here in Toronto, I dug a summer picture of my littles, and the beautiful 1Canoe2 Creekside collection to create this layout.
It all started by enlarging this picture to letter size, and then attached it to one of the papers from the collection. I used the washi tapes as a layer under the papers and pictures, as i added more papers and cardstock behind the picture, in order to complete the 12x12 format.
Next I started to embellish the layout by using the stars in the rub ons, and roller stamp to create the visual traingle in the page. Then just played with the stickers and the ephemera to form a small cluster at the bottom corner and under the picture of my littles.
For the title of this page, I pulled some of the stickers of the collection and added them to the top corner of the page.
To keep the focus on the picture, I created a small pocket where i hid the journal in a small tab. I really like how this turned out. Here is the completed layout:
I hope this inspires you to use a large picture in one of your projects. Remember to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the products used here.
Let me know if you have questions on how this came together!
Take care!

A Christmas Classic 2014
Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories - A Christmas Classic 2014 -
Hello there!
Nathalie with you today to bring you some inspiration for the upcoming Christmas season! This time, I wanted to document a "classic" Santa portrait using the gorgeous "Very Merry" Collection.
The wreath that frames the background was created from a Silhouette design, and backed with papers from the Very Merry collection. All those classic designs, and rich colors create the perfect background for the picture.
To bring the picture forward in the design, embellishments from the collection were layered in clusters around the wreath, and in clusters around the picture.
The title of this page tells the story of the layout (this is one of my favorite pictures of my littles - a true "classic"-), and was formed using pieces from the Very Merry collection (chipboard, cardstock and clear stickers) as well as some sn@p Color Vibe Bold alphas.
The color combo, and beautiful designs are perfect to document all your Christmas memories. Don't forget to check the Very Merry collection - you will love it!
Have a blessed Christmas!!!

Very Merry
Scrapbook layout created for Simple Stories - VERY MERRY -
Nathalie with you today. It is starting to look at lot like Christmas, and what better way that prepare for the upcoming season, that to document last year's memories with the beautiful and super fun "OH WHAT FUN".
For this page, I wanted to take advantage of the colors in the papers of the collection, and what better way to display them than to create a wreath to display a photo of my littles -niece and nephew-.
Using a die from Maya Road, I created a lot of stars that were arranged in a circle to create the wreath.
There are so many beautiful designs in the papers and cut apart cards from the Oh What Fun collection that can easily be fussy cut to be used as clusters around the layout.
This layout's title was created using one of the 4x4 card from the cut apart elements page.

Here are just a few more close ups of all the details around the picture. The poinsetta images are one of my favorite designs in this collection, and the perfect flower to give this layout that soft and Chrsitmasy look.
The "Oh What Fun" collection is by far one of the most beautiful and FUN collections for the upcoming Christmas season, and a must to document all those special moments.
Remember I am always a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

a close up of the layout, |
Hello!,
I have been busy creating new projects for the different design teams, I am part of. However, in between assignments, I have been using the breaks to try and use up my paper stash, and document some of the pictures from the summer outings.

A look at the mixed-media on the layout's background. |
I started this layout, by trying to replicate the water splash created when kids cannonball into a swimming pool. I chose water colors like blues and teals for the background. Once the paint was dried, I used the May Mash up ampersand cut file to add a large focal point on the layout.

I attached the picture of my littles with a few pieces of ephemera around it. I picked pieces that had a lot of color in the blues and fuschias to match that of the picture.

the title of the page |
For the title, i chose to play with the stickers and ephemera from Simple Stories' Sunshine and Happiness collection. I added the title to the top left corner of the page. To complete the page, I glued and stitched the page to a pink watercolor paper. I made sure to trim a small edge around the entire page, so that the background paper will show as a frame to the layout.
Here is the final layout:
I like how the contrast on colors shows throughout the page, and I hope this serves as inspiration to finish documenting summer pages (though i still have at least 100 pictures to document).
As always let me know if you have any questions about this page.
Take care!

a close-up to the layout |
Hello!,
As i am writing this post, there are many collection arriving at my door step, so I have tasked myself to make a dent on my paper stash. Trust me, it is not easy, as I love pretty paper, and have lots of it safely kept in Iris containers. But i knew that I had to work on trying to use up the collections, so I created this layout with a combination of many small pieces of different collections.
I am using the "Fresh Squeezed" cut file from the Cut Shoppe to document a picture of my littles taking a rest while shopping around the local plaza. They both have drinks on their hands, so the cut-out was perfect for this project. I am using a combination of vellum, Simple Stories' Sunshine and Happiness collection, and The Cut Shoppe's Sunny Side up digital collection papers to back the cut out. I attached it to the white cardstock using foam adhesive squares, so that there is dimension on the page.

I framed the picture with papers from the collection, and added pieces from different collections in clusters around it.
For the title, I used one of the cardstock paper piece from the Sunshine and Happiness collection. Once again, I am using foam adhesive to attach it to the cut-out, so that it will stand out in the page.
Finally I added some details around the page, and a few lines of journal to the bottom of the page.
Here is the final layout:
This page is one of my favorites, as it tells the story of my littles on a hot summer day, plus i got to combine different collections in a coherent look.
As always let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for visiting today.
See you around!!
