SNOW MUCH FUN! - Simple Stories DT

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to share a bit of inspiration using the new, fun, and gorgeous FEELIN' FROSTY collection from Simple Stories.   Living in Canada has taught us to always be ready for a few centimeters of snow during Fall, Winter, and even Spring!  So, loving snow and the outdoors during snowfalls is a normal for us.  So, I am loving all the cute  designs and color palette of this new collection,

I started my page with the Warm & Cozy paper, woodgrain papers are always a favorite. Here, I added layers of paper from the 6x8 paper pad, and Snow Days paper.

The color combo in this collection was perfect to make the colors of my niece's jacket pop off the page.   I made sure that the papers were just a bit bigger than 6x8" so that it leaves a lot of the woodgrain exposed

I pulled the large circle journal spot from the Simple Pages kit, and used it as way to anchor the photos to the page.  The 3x4 elements paper provided the best mats for the photos, I pulled the most solid backgrounds, so that  they work great with all the layers,

The large Snow Much Fun Simple Pages Pieces fit the page perfectly.   The size of this ephemera pieces is perfect to add that extra pop to the title.

I used an old snowflake die set to cut a few of snowflakes from white cardstock. I used different widths of foam adhesive to create clusters of the snowflakes around the page.  I wanted to give the idea of a snowfall around the page.   I sprinkled white ink all through the page to make  it make it more like a snow fall on the page.

A few enamel dots, stickers, and adhesive brads around the snowflake clusters just finishes the layout nicely.  I love how easy this came together just by playing with the papers and ephemera pieces from the collection. I  am sure you are going to also love the new FEELIN' FROSTY collection from Simple Stories

TOGETHER - Simple Stories

Hello there!

Nathalie with you today to share a new layout featuring the new Simple Vintage Weathered Garden.  I love Simple Vintage collections, but this new addition is probably one of my very favorite.  The color combo, floral design, and butterflies are probably the reason I love this collection.  There are so many beautiful pieces in this collection, it was so easy to create this page.

As always, the chipboard frames are always the first piece I reached for.  This time, I am combining one of the frames with the new Sticker banner for this page.

I started by trimming the Honey/Magnolia basic to 10.5x10.5 in square. I attached this to the Every Little Things paper ( along the top edge of the paper).   Here, I added a bit of mixed media to make sure all the pieces of the banner pop from the page

In order to fit the  chipboard frame as part of the banner.  I had to cut the frame in the banner so that the butterflies could sit atop the frame.    A bit of foam adhesive secures the frame to the page.

I added a few more embellishments through the banner, so that it bulks it up and is proportionate to the chipboard frame.

Lastly it was all about building a title for the page.  In order to balance the page,  I added a few of the foam stickers at the bottom part of the basic paper, making sure that it followed the same line as photo.  To finish, I added a few more butterflies, through the page,

I love how this turned out.  There are so many details in each piece of the collection, that you will have your projects done in seconds.

SIMPLE VINTAGE COUNTRY HARVEST Inspiration - Simple Stories

Hello Friends!

Nathalie with you today with a bit of  inspiration featuring the new and gorgeous  SIMPLE VINTAGE COUNTRY HARVEST collection.   I cannot get over how beautiful this collection is.  I love Fall, and this collection is just perfect to document all those glorious memories.  I just love how easy it was to put the pages together,  I have two layouts for you  today...

My first page was all inspired on the chipboard frames of the collection ( they are always my favorite piece of the kits).   Once I backed the  frame with my photo, the rest of the page came together pretty quickly.

I trimmed the 4x4 element page to 10.5x10.5 inches, and messily hand stitch it to the SIMPLE VINTAGE Stone/Pearl paper.    Once, I set the frame on the center of the page, it was all about embellishing the page.

I used pieces from the SIMPLE PAGES KIT - AUTUMN HARVEST to create a cascade of leaves on the page, as well as add some interest behind the frame.   Then,  I used one of the new Chipboard clusters ( that matched the detail in the frame) to add more interest and dimension to the page.

I continue adding a few more leaves so that they continue cascading down the page.   I added a simple sticker at the  bottom of the page as a title.  Then added a few more details to the page.

I love how this came together so easily and with lovely results.   Now, let me show you the other project I created for you today.

For my second page, I am using one of the Simple Pages kit -AUTUM HARVEST as the base for my layout.  All I had to do was trim a strip from the JUST THANKFUL paper and stitch it on top of the page for the base of my page.

Once again, I reached for one of the chipboard frames, but this time I  am using it as a layer behind my picture.  Along with a few pieces from the SIMPLE CARDS CARD KIT- HARVEST WISHES.

I added more pieces behind the frame so that they emphasize the details in the frame.  There are so many embellishments to chose from it was easy to create clusters.

For the title, I am repeating some of the elements behind the photo in a small  cluster at the bottom right corner of the page.  This balances the page nicely.  I tied the page together by adding butterflies throughout the page.  A few drops of white and gold ink complete the page.   Just love how easy this came together!

I cannot wait to see what you create with the new SIMPLE VINTAGE COUNTRY HARVEST collection.   This gorgeous collection is sure to become a favorite  for all!

SPOOKY FA-BOO-LOUS! - Simple Stories

Hello Crafty Friends!

Nathalie here to share a bit of inspiration using  the  new SPOOKY NIGHTS collection.   This collection is seriously super cute with the perfect mix of  spooky and fun.   It is perfect to document those Trick-or-Treating nights!  So, I pull a few old photos from my kids -back when they were little- for this page.

The inspiration for the page was the Gone Batty paper.  As soon as I saw the night scene, I knew that I could recreate it for my photos.

I cut a 6" circle from Color Vibe Warm White cardstock.  I  used art crayons and a bit of water to color in my full moon. A bit of gray and black art crayon create the spooky craters in the moon.  I set it aside to dry and started to work on the background.  I trimmed the Gone Batty paper to 11"x11"and framed it with the  Creep It Real Paper.

While the  moon dried;  I free hand-cut a few clouds from Color Vibe  Gray Cardstock.   I used  a stencil brush and black art crayons to  define the edges of the clouds, then added a bit of interest to the clouds with the  Jack-O-Lantern stencil.   I glued the moon and clouds to the background (a bit of foam adhesive helps to create the layered look of the clouds).  I sprinkled a bit of the star stickers around the background, and then added a few  bats  flying around.

I used a few of the haunted house images from the collection to create the bottom part of the scene on my page.    The cut apart cards from the 6x8 paper pad were perfect to frame the photos.   A bit of foam adhesive makes them pop from the row of houses.

The foam are one of the best ways to create a title for the page.  The size of the title just posts from the page; so,  I chose a small cardstock sticker to complete it.

This page was a treat to put together.  I just love how it turned out, and how perfect it tells the story of the day.  Remember to check the SPOOKY NIGHTS collection from Simple Stories; you are going to love it!!

GAME NIGHT! - Simple Stories

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to bring you a bit of inspiration featuring the new FAMILY FUN Collection from Simple Stories.   I am sure that all of you have many memories of you and your family spending time together.  Whether at the mini golf course, playing video games, or in my case laying on the carpet for long Scrabble sessions!, we all have those lovely memories to document.  This new collection is so fun, it will make it so easy to bring those memories to your album...

Since, we love the tile look of the game, I decided to use the Simple Pages Template - Design 2 as the starting point for the page.

My idea was to create a frame out of the Page Template!  I used a pencil to mark all the corners of the template and photos, and cut it from the Your Turn paper.  I used a bit of foam adhesive to back each of the photo space ( this brings dimension to the layout) with papers from the collection.  This was glued to an 11" Warm White Color Vibe basic paper framed by the Game Night paper ( I am continuing the frame look of the page this way!)

Next was all about filling the small frames.  For the top 6x4 frame, I am using a 3x4 photo, and a few embellishments from the collection to fill up the space.   All the embellishments fanning from the photo help to fill up the space and bring a bit of movement to the page .

For the bottom two spaces, I chose to use one to house a second photo.  I made the image smaller, and used a bit of foam adhesive to attach it to the page.   Then used the second open frame to add my journaling using embellishments from the collection.

I love the foam stickers, they are always the perfect way to create a title for any project.   I chose the Game Night  pieces and placed them along the vertical line of the design.   Just love having the perfect space for the large title!

Just love how this page turned out, and how easy it came together once I  pulled the Template as the base for my page.   Remember to check the collection in your scrapbook store!

HAPPY LIFE - Simple Stories

Hello crafty friends!

Nathalie with you today to bring you a bit of inspiration featuring the new Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection.  The color palette in this collection is probably one of my favorites, and the designs are just dreamy that it made today's project a breeze to put together.

As always, I am drawn to the chipboard frames, and that was the starting point for my page.   Once I added my photos, it was all about finding the best way to make the frame the focal point of the page.     So, I -literally- placed the 4x6 elements paper at an angle pointing to the frame, then used the 4x4 elements paper as the background for the page.

I added a bit of washi tape to under the angled paper, so that some of the color would peek from the ruffled edge of the paper.  Next, I glued the frame in place, and used a sample of all the embellishments in the collection to create two clusters at the sides of the frame.

The foam stickers are always my go-to for creating titles in my pages. I simply combine two of  them to create the title, then added the cardstock sticker as a sentiment under the title.

The butterflies in this collection are gorgeous, and the perfect embellishment to bring the page together.   I placed  a few of them around the clusters, then decided to  add a few more as if they are flying from the photo frame to the top of the page.  A bit of hand stitching helps to tie them to the page.

I love how this came together in a short amount of time.  The new Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection is just perfect for your memories!

HOWDY PARDNER! - Simple Stories

Hello there!

Nathalie with you today to bring you a new project using the super fun HOWDY! collection.  I just love the collection is just perfect to document life at the range, or all those cowboys and cowgirls in your life.   As soon as I saw the collection, I knew it was going to fit all the pictures of my little cousin and his love for cowboys.

This entire page is inspired by the jean pocket design/embellishment  in the collection.  I love the little detail, and wanted to use it for my page. I copy the design of the pocket and then enlarged it to fit the page.   All the pockets were cut from the Let's Ride Paper.   I chose to replicate the stitching design in two of the four pockets

To construct the page, I used the same hand stitching design as the pockets to attach the left over piece of the Let's Ride paper to the Out Yonder paper.   The small brads just brought to texture and look of real jeans to my page.   I used a grid design to attach my pockets leaving space in between them to add my title ( a combination of chipboard and foam stickers)

I attached the pockets, and filled each one of them with pieces of ephemera, stickers and chipboard from the collection and the Simple Pages kit.  I fussy cut one of the tags and added my journal lines there.   I used one of the pockets to house the story.

I used a pieces from the 3x4 and 4x6 Elements paper to back the picture.  I created a cluster of ephemera behind the top left corner of the photos, and then glued it all to the left of the jean strip.   A few extra small stars complete this page

Sometimes ideas turn better than what you expected, such as this layout.   I just love how the small pocket was the inspiration for the entire page.   Just love the HOWDY! collection.  Remember to check it out, you are going to love it, too!

TOGETHER - Simple Stories

 Hello there!

today, I want  to share a new layout using the gorgeous Simple Vintage Farmhouse collection.   This collection is just beautiful, and so versatile.

My starting point was the one of the chipboard frames (these are probably one of my favorite embellishments of the collections).   I love the small detail in the frame, and decided to build upon it to make it pop.

What better way to showcase all  the beautiful designs that to work with paper layers.  I  started with the Basic Cantaloupe as the background for my page. Then added layers of paper from the 6x8 paper pad, and also the 12x12 patterned papers.

Usually my titles are the last addition in the page; however, this time I found the perfect spot for the chipboard sticker, "Together", at the bottom of the paper layer.

To finish my page, I build up the clusters of ephemera on the page, so that they form a diagonal design on the page.  The florals in this collection are amazing, and there are so many embellishments to choose from, it was easy to put this together.

I love how this turned out, and how easy it came together using the papers and embellishments in the SIMPLE VINTAGE FARMHOUSE collection.  Be sure to check it out, you will love it all!
