EASTER FUN - Simple Stories
Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout all about those sweet memories of Easter Egg hunts. I think we all have memories of our children (or younger us) enjoying all the egg hunt finds, and what better way to enjoy them than to document them with the new Simple Stories Hip Hop Hooray collection. It is just the perfect Easter and also Spring collection.
I created a simple design for the page so that i can mix all the beautiful paper colors and cute embellishments. First i used the Butterflies stencil and some white texture paste to create a few impressions on a piece of the 6x8 wood grain paper.
Since both my little (niece and nephew) are wearing bunny ears, i quickly chose the Hippity Hop paper for the background of the page. First i chose a strip of the Puddle Jumper paper as an anchor for the page. I decided to keep add a few more paper layers behind the paper strip from the 6x8 paper pad and Hello Peeps paper.
I used the Bunny Tails and Hello Peeps paper to back the pictures, and then set them on the wood grain paper piece ( once the texture paste impression had dried). I set the paper on the middle of the page and then started adding embellishments around the photos and paper strips. With so many cute and colorful embellishments it was easy to mix and match them on the page.
The cute little bunny embellishments are so adorable, and so perfect to embellish the title of the page. I combined the sentiments from the Bits and Pieces and Combo Sticker sheet to create the title at the bottom of the page. Here i added the bunnies and a few more embellishments in a large cluster. To finalize the page, I used the Hip Hop Hooray stamp set to add a few sentiments to the page.
I just love all the color and cheery nature of the page. The textures in the paste, papers and embellishments complement the picture of my littles nicely. I am sure that you are going to love documenting your Easter/ Spring memories with the new Simple Stories HIP HOP HOORAY collection, make sure to check it out!
Til' next time.

HOPPY EASTER MY PEEPS - Simple Stories
Hi there! Nathalie back with you today. I am so blessed to continue working with Simple Stories for another term, i truly love their products and the people behind the scenes. As we start a new season, Spring -here in the Northern Hemisphere-, we are also getting ready to celebrate Easter, so i want to share with you a new project created with the new Bunnies and Baskets collection.
For this layout, i chose a cut file from Handipaper to be the centerpiece of the page, and cut it from white cardstock, backed it all with vellum. To add color to the flowers, i used some Vicki Boutin Art Crayon and Stencil Brush to add color to the back of the vellum, then backed the entire cut file with the Black/Cream basics paper from the Spring Farmhouse collection.
To build the layout, first, a piece of the White Dot/Chestnut Sn@p Basics paper was hand stitched to the b side of the Easter Blessings paper. I set the bunny on the right corner of the paper, and layered a few Easter egg cut outs (also from Handipaper) along the bottom part of the layout.
I used the other papers from the Bunnies and Baskets collection to create layers behind the picture of my little niece and nephew from a few Easters back, and then tucked the picture to the left side of the bunny. I fussy cut a few florals from the the Easter Blessings paper and used them to create clusters around the layout along with the stickers from the collection.
For the title of this page, i simply used the large word sticker from the collection, and propped it with some foam adhesive. A small cluster of fussy cut florals and stickers complete this page.
I really love how this turned out and how cute the picture of my littles looks nestled around lots of Easter icons. The new Simple Stories' Bunnies and Baskets collection is sure to bring the special touch to your Easter memories.
Til next time,

Happy Easter
Scrapbook Layout - Happy Easter -

a close up of the layout
Hi there!,
I am trying to kill all the collections from my stash, as i need to make room for all the goodies that are on my way (trust me I have pre-order enough paper to wallpaper my apartment twice). One of the collections I want to use up is Pink Paislee's Fancy Free collection (which i love, but couldn't get all the papers and add ons). Since the colors of the collection remind me of happy times, I chose to use it to document a picture of my son and sister on Easter Day.

A little bit of machine stitching can add lots of texture, and dimension to a layout
I started by cutting papers of the collection to 2x2in squares. I lined them up, slightly slanted, on the mat, and proceeded to machine stitched them at about a quarter of an inch inside each square. After they were all properly attached, I raised the edges of outer edges of the squares ( as seen on the picture).

black and white pictures are my to go choice as they lend to all color combination
I used papers from the collection to mat and layered the picture; all accents come from small clusters of ephemera, stickers and cut-outs.
For the title, I used a combination of Thickers and ephemera pieces. I added my journal lines at the bottom of the page, and added some extra details. Here is the final layout:
Though I love this collection, I also love all the new goodies coming my way, so I rather enjoy the pictures, and lovely papers together.
Till next time.
Happy Craftin'!

My Week in Pictures # 12

My littlest one, always ready to pose for my lens...
Hello everyone,
I hope you all took the time to reflect on Christ's Resurrection on this Easter weekend. I am a firm believer that our God-given lives are just the beginning of the true reward that is awaiting for us when our Saviour comes again. It is because of Christ that we have these blessed lives full of love and peace, and the best way to celebrate it is by capturing it, and sharing it.
Since holidays mean family, there are over 500 pictures to chose from this week, here are some of my favorites:
My nephew is never still, he just turned 3, and never stops. He doesn't like to smile for the camera, so I have to catch him with my lens in burst mode. This is one of my personal favorites, as he looks so beautiful looking up at my mom.

My niece loves to pose for the camera, but i like to catch her when she is not expecting it. Here she is playing with her toys on the dining room table. The window light reflects her innocence so perfectly...
My sister is such a loving person, and she always demonstrates it with smiles and warm hugs. She also loves to smile for the camera, and is always ready to pose for me -trust me I have lots of beautiful shots of her-. I love catching glimpses of her motherhood...

She is trying to put my nephew to nap...
As always my kids are my best models, even when they are going through the no-smiling for the camera stage. At the end, they can always be bribed, or i just shoot hoping for a great shot.
It is amazing to see my daughter bloom into a beautiful young woman in front of my eyes. She is my little girl always...
My son is rapidly becoming a man. I am glad that even when he turns his head at the sight of the camera, I take the shots anyways. He will thank me later in life...
Finally the weather is changing here... so for Easter we went on a long walk around our neighborhood (we are lucky to live next to a river path). Here is one of the perks of having a beautiful day, scenery and a great family...

Crossing the Humber River...
Finally, I was glad my people stopped to pose for me. I used the bridge as a background for their beautiful faces...

I love this three, and the fur baby who wanted to come home to play with his new found stick...
I hope that you are taking the time to capture your everyday...
See you soon..
