Summer Days

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - SUMMER DAYS  -

hi there!

It is time for a new project for Scrapbook Nerd.  This week our focus is on the many free digital cut files the stores offers.  So with summer in full swing here in Toronto, I chose to use an image from the "Let The Sunshine In" cut file to create the background of this page.

First I chose to only use the large circle image, so i sized it to fit on half the  page.   To have the cut our pop on the page, I chose to add some Vicki Boutin art crayons (watercolor) to the background of the page.

While the background dried, I backed the cut out using papers from Simple Stories' "Hello Summer" collection and a bit of foam adhesive to create a bit of dimension on the cut out.

Once the picture was added, I went ahead and used stickers and ephemera from the collection to frame the picture and add a visual triangle to the page.

To finish, I trimmed a bit of the layout, and added a strip of rainbow to the page, a few black ink drops, and lines of journal. LOVE how this turned out  The colors are just perfect for the season, and the selfie of my kids and i wearing shades.

Together!

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - TOGETHER! -

hi there!

Today there is a new cut file being released at Scrapbook Nerd.   YAY!!!

This month, the Cut Shoppe has created the Shattered Glass cut file for the store. I took advantage of the cut file to create a layout all about my babies.

To create the cut out, I welded a polygon on to the cut file, so that it had plenty of white space in the middle where i can place my picture.

Next, I backed some of the empty spaces of the cut out with papers from the Vicki Boutin All the Good Things collection.

To bring the picture forward, i added a bit of mixed media to the back of the picture using some Distress oxides and the packaging technique.

Finally   I added some embellishments from Vicki Boutin's collection to finish the page.   I love how it all turned out.   Plus it took no time to put together.

Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to pick your free copy of the cut file, and to check all the materials used in this page.  As always you can leave me a comment if you have questions on how this came together.

Take care!

H2O Play

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - H2O PLAY -

Hello there!

Today, I am up on the Scrapbook Nerd  (we took a break for the Summer season) with a new layout that showcases the newly released All Angles.  The cut file was designed by the Cut Shoppe exclusively for Scrapbook Nerd, and you can get your own copy of the cut file for free at the store.

This cut file is so versatile, and can be used to document all types of memories.   We have had a packed Summer season, so it was only fitting i chose one of the pictures to document.

For this layout, the cut file was altered at bit, so that it stands out of the page.  For this, an offset was added to the entire shape, and then only about half of the cut file was used to create the cut out.

While the cut file was being produced, i created a watercolor background using some Distress Inks  so that it recreates the color of the water in the swimming pool.

Once the cut file was ready, i  liked the look of the negative triangles as little flaps so i used a bit of foam adhesive to keep them as such, while choosing to back just a few of the rest with papers from the Bella Blvd.  Secrets of the Sea collections.

I kept the decorations on the clusters to a minimum so that all the parts of this page will pop and work  harmoniously together.

A combination of textures was then used to create the title for this page.   I just love the look of the dimension of this page.  Here is the final layout:

I hope you like the final result of the page, and that it serves as inspiration to create with this great cut file,  Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to pick your free copy of the file.  As always, I am a comment away, if you need any assistance.

See you all soon!
