LOVE

Scrapbook Layout created for JustNick Studio  -  LOVE  -

Hello everyone!
Happy Valentine's Day to you all!!!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new project all about love, but not the mushy-gushy-kinda-love, but the one between a girl and her fur-baby (actually our baby!).   And what better way to celebrate this love, than to create a page using some of the beautiful JustNick Studio cut files!

To create this page, the  Heart Background 3 was used to create the background of this page.   All  the fun hearts just brought this page to live, and create the perfect background for the picture of my two youngest ones together.   A few papers from Cocoa Vanilla's Bohemian Dreams help bring color to this page.

To bring a bit more of a feminine and romantic touch to the page,  the Blossom Blooms cut file was used to cut a few flowers that are clustered at the corners of the picture.

Just a few more details were added using the collection embellishments, and a bit of water color in the background.

I hope this inspires you to stop by check all the digital files available at the JustNick Studio store.  There are so many to chose from especially to document all those sweet-love-full memories.

Have a great day!

Beautiful Memories

Scrapbook Layout created for JustNick Studio  - BEAUTIFUL  MEMORIES -

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today with a new layout about one of my favorite people in the world, my aunt, Pamela!.  She and I are the same age, and have grown up together, but now live in different hemispheres.    So i wanted to use some of the new (and upcoming) cut files to document a picture of the 2 of us, while we were visiting my native Ecuador.

To create the background of this page, i welded a few images of the Floral Background 2 (which will be available starting tomorrow), and then combined it with one of the hearts in the Hearts 2 cut file to obtain the background for this page

I backed just a few of the flowers with papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Bohemian Dreams collection ( i love all the purple tones in the papers, so I had to use them in this layout).

Next, the Flowers cut file was used to create just the silhouette of the floral motifs from the heart - i sized the images so that they matched the ones used in the heart background).  These flowers were then backed with white vellum, and then attached with pop dots to the background.   Just loved the softness of the flowers, so there was no need to add much embellishments to the page, just a few pieces from the collection were enough to complete this page.

I hope this inspires you to mix and fuse some of the stores cut files to create a one-of-a-kind project.   There are so many beautiful designs available  (and coming to) in the JustNick Studio store; stop by, and check them out!!!

Remember I am always a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

Life is Amazing

Scrapbook Layout created for Just Nick Studio  -  LIFE IS AMAZING  -

Hello everyone!
Nathalie with you today with a new layout that focuses on the love my two younger babies have for each other.

As soon as Nicole showed us this month's cut file designs, I was completely in love with the new "Loopy Circle Background", so I cut two of the designs from white cardstock, then backed the circles with vellum and papers from the new Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Bohemian Dreams collection.

.

Once the cut outs were attached to the page on a diagonal,  the title was stitched to the page using the "Life Is Amazing" cut file.   A bit of watercolor helps to add definition to the title, and makes it pop from the page.

Finally  the picture of my little ones was added. Since there is so much going on the background, i chose to back the picture with a small cut out from the "Infinity Hearts" cut file, and a few embellishments from the collection.

I love how the circles form the perfect background for the page, and bring the picture forward.  All the new designs being added to the Just Nick Studio store are divine, are so easy to work with. Remember to stop by the store to check them all.

I am always a comment away if you have any questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!

You & Me

Scrapbook Layout created for Just Nick Studio  - YOU & ME -

Hello there!

I hope you all are enjoying these beautiful Summer Days (the current season here in Canada!).  After a long vacation to my native Ecuador, i am finally back home and loaded with lots of ideas, and memories to document.   For this particular picture of my cousin and my goddaughter, i used one of the newer cut files , Frilly Floral Frames, to create its soft and girly background.

My starting point was to create a grid design for the page, but once I started playing with the frames on my Silhouette software, I was drawn to the visual triangle the three frames formed around the picture.  So I went ahead, and welded the 3 frames together, to create the cut out for this page.

Once the cut out was created, i backed the flower in each corner with some of the papers from Cocoa Vanilla's Wild at Heart collection that was included in the May 2017 Clique Kits  monthly kit.

Since i wanted the layout very girly, i chose to use one of the papers from the collection as the background for the page.   The watercolor  design in the page brings the details in the white cut outs.  In addition, a layer of white vellum was added to the squares (as a layer behind the cut out) just to the sections where the square do not intersect.

Using a paper piercing tool, a stitching guide was created around the edges of the squares. Three different color embroidery thread was used  to stitch the frames, so that they match the colors in the background paper.

For the title of this page, the "You Make Me Smile" cut file was used to stitch the "You & Me" sentiment to the page.  Once the stitching was completed, a bit of shimmer watercolor complete the look of the title.   This same watercolor was used to create the splatters around the page.

I really hope this inspires you to take a look at the new designs available at the Just Nick Studio store.  The versatility of each of the designs will allow you to create a one-of-a-kind project.

Remember, I am a comment away if you have further questions on how this came together.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Beautiful - Love Yourself -

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits  - BEAUTIFUL - Love Yourself- --

Hello there!

Today I am up on the Clique Kits blog with a new project that focuses on creating your own embellishments.  I am so in love with this month's Aquarelle kit, that i am trying to use every single piece of paper in the kit.  Here is a small video on how i created this layout, so sit back and enjoy!!

As you can see in the video, I had used pieces from both papers(that had the mint/light blue color in them), so I found  a way of combining them both to create the layout's mat.

The number of butterflies i would need for this layout was larger than the ones left in the patterned paper, so I doodle a butterfly, and used it to create a cut file.  Using my Silhouette cameo, a large number of the butterflies were cut.  Before taking them off the mat, i sprayed a light mist of mint and light blue  on them.

To create the look on the butterflies, I used some distress oxides, and a craft mat (but any ink and plastic wrap/acrylic block would work).  After stamping each color on the mat, i diluted them with water, making sure that each color formed droplets on the mat.  Then i started smooshing the butterflies onto the color droplets and left them to dry.   Once they were ready, I used a fine black precision pen to delineate the butterflies.   The seam on the paper gave me a guide as to where to place all the cut outs.

The title of the page was first attached to the bottom of the page, followed by picture at the top of the seam line. Next using foam adhesive and glue, I attached all the cut outs to the page.

The picture of my daughter and me is nicely framed at the top of the page by pieces from the kit's ephemera pack, and some Clique Kits exclusive printables. My journal lines were added to a piece from the fussy cut paper in the collection, and some gold ink, here is the final layout:

I hope this serves as inspiration to create your own embellishments.   I am obsessed with butterflies, so this page is just fulfilling my creative side of my brain.   Remember to check Clique Kits if you are interested on the kit, or to check what they are stocking on their shelves.

See you all soon!!

Dream Big

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits   -  DREAM BIG  -

Hello there!

Today, I am pulling double duty on a few blogs.   This time, the project created is for  Clique Kits using the beautiful Aquarelle Kit.  I have loved working with this kit, as it features the gorgeous Wild at Heart collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.     I have created a small process video on how this page came together, so sit down and enjoy a super condensed process:

The background of this project was created using a few of the Prima Marketing watercolor palettes.  Though the orientation of the original design changed as the layout progress,  the colors in the background bring the project to life.

Using the Clique Kits's January 2016 exclusive cut file, some butterflies were cut from white cardstock and vellum;  the rest of the butterflies come from the Mariposa paper in the collection.   Each cut out was backed with vellum , and machine sewn into the layout.

Once the butterflies were in place, a cluster was created on the very top of the page.  This completes the path created by the background, and it is the start of the visual triangle on this page.

I love to keep track of the kids development using a fixed object.  This time both my niece and daughter purchased the same bracelet.  "DREAM BIG" is what is spelled by the beads, so i chose to photograph their development using the bracelet as the focus point.   To bring the photograph to focus, just a few pieces from the collection, and exclusive printables were used in clusters around the page.

Finally, the title of this page was created using the copper Alphas from Pinkfresh Studio that are included in the kit.   After a few more small details, and a few journal lines, here is the final layout:

It is the simplicity of this page that is so attracting to me, not to mention is full of butterflies -one of my favorite things, ever-.   Remember to visit Clique Kits for the kits, cut files and exclusives used in this page.

I am always a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

Thanks for stopping by today!
