Love You Now Forever and Ever

Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories  -LOVE YOU NOW FOREVER & EVER -

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today with a new layout right on time to celebrate the season of LOVE.   Well, after twenty years together, it seems my husband and I are yet to learn how to take a good picture together, but that has not stopped me from capturing us through the years.  The new Simple Stories Kissing Booth collection was the perfect mix of colors and sentiments to help capture our story.

For the background, i used the Crazy in Love paper as the base for the page, then fussy cut a piece of the banners in the 3x4 Elements paper and a large strip of the Hugs and Kisses paper and attached them to the top of the paper.

I used a bit of mixed media (VIcki Boutin Art Crayons and Gesso) to add a bit of color to the backgrond just on the areas where the title and picture will be placed.

A fussy cut a few of the florals from the Always Be True paper, while the background dried.  I layer a few 4x6 Vertical elements behind the picture and attached it to the  page using foam adhesive.  I then  decided to use the large fussy cut floral as the top cluster on the picture.

I added a few die cut roses (SIlhouette Cutfile) around the picture as well as elements from the stickers sheet, bit and pieces pack, and puffy stickers to help frame the picture.

To create the title of this page, i pulled a cut file from Just Nick Studio and backed it with papers and pieces of ephemera from the Kissing Booth collection.   I placed it at the bottom of the page and completed the title by adding a chipboard sticker and one of the phrase stickers.

I really love how this turned out!  even when our selfie is not perfect, I  still love that reflects us.  All the details and colors from the Simple Stories' Kissing Booth collection are perfect to  make the picture that much more special.   Remember to check the collection, and have a great Valentine's Day!

3-to-Inspire

Citrus Twist Kits  -   3-to Inspire projects using the Love Stories kit

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today with this month's first 3-to-Inspire.  I hope you all have visited the store to see what Trina has put together for this month's Life Crafted - LOVE STORIES - kit, Add on kit and stamps.  I am always awed at the beautiful kits, and this month it does not disappoint.  So to give you a taste of this month's kits, i created two projects following this week's prompts:
  1. Use a Repetitive Shape
  2. Use a Black and White picture
  3. Go Monochrome &/or Same color family

Let me show you how i interpreted the prompts in  my Life Crafted album using the Stories Kit and the Diamond Heart cut file (available for free to all subscribers)

For this page, i decided to play with tones of pink to document a recurring moment in our lives with teens.  First i picked one of the papers from the kit to serve as the background, and use another one of the papers to mat and layer the picture.

This month's Love Stories kit is packed with embellishments, so i pulled a few hearts from the acetate shapes and the puffy sticker sheet to complement the die cut that forms  my title.

To add the journal of the picture, i used my typewriter on the tag that comes included in the kit.  While i typed the story, i set my Cameo to cut the Diamond Heart cut file from the same paper that mats the picture and twice from pink cardstock.   These were glued together to create the dimension on the die cut.

To complete the repetitive prompt of the challenge, i pulled a few more hearts from the Love Stories kit to accent a few of the clusters in around the layout.

How easy and fun is that layout, now let me show you a second project using the prompts, the Add-On kit, Love Stories kit, and the Add-on stamp.

I wanted to create a Valentine's Day page that was masculine and not  the usual pink or red, so i chose the cool tones of the papers of the Add-On kit to create this page.  Love all the papers and embellishments in the kit!

First i added a bit of Pinkfresh Studio watercolor to the background so that they match the colors of the papers.  While the background dried,  i backed the spaces of the Diamond Heart cut file with papers from the add on kit.

These triangles were the inspiration for my repetitive shape, those small enamel triangles (Dear Lizzy's New Day collection ) came in handy to contimue my repetition of shapes.

Since i wanted the background and picture to be highlighted, I chose to convert the picture of my husband and smiling baby dog to black and white.

I used papers from the Add-on kit as well as ephemera pieces, cut apart elements (free printable page available for subscribers) and a few pieces from the Love Stories kit to frame the picture. Here is a video that will show you how this page came together:

I love how these two projects turned out by following this week 3-to-Inspire prompts and this month's LOVE STORIES, Add-on Kits and Stamps... Now it is your turn to create a project inspired by these prompts.  Remember to share your creations with us on our Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or on social media by tagging @citrustwistkits or #citrustwistkits.  We love to see your works.

If you have any questions, you can always contact me.
Have a great weekend!

Love You

Scrapbook Layout created for the Vicki Boutin DT  - LOVE YOU -

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today as we start a new month.   February is the month of LOVE, and we are hoping to provide you with some inspiration that will help you incorporate Vicki's products and collections into your documenting!  For today's project i combined a bit of VB art crayons, some of the glazes, stamps and stencils to create a page that celebrates the love amongst siblings.

The inspiration for the color combination of this page was based on the cut out (i used a cut file from Paige Evans and my Cameo to create the large die cut).  After creating last week's project, i had some leftover gold glaze which i used to create a texture piece of cardstock, and then diluted the leftovers to cover the die cut with a shimmering coat of glaze ( the cut was created on salmon colored cardstock).   The diluted glaze adds a bit of shimmer to the cut out.

The color of the background was chosen to make the cut out stand out.   I used some blue and navy art crayons (neutral and cool Art Crayon sets) to create the watercolor look on the background.  Once it dried, a few flowers were stamped using art crayons diluted with water and a bit of iridiscent glaze.   To bring a bit of contrast and texture to the background, a bit of iriiscent glaze was added using a palette knife through the butterfly stencil of the All The Good Things collection.

I pulled a picture of my littles (niece and nephew) from a few years back, and used  it to back one of the hearts in the cut out.   The papers used  to back the cut out come from the All The Good Things  and Field Notes collection as well as the 6x8 paper pad.  I chose to stay in the blush/pink tones for the lettters, and backed the second heart with vellum.

To makes sure the picture stands out in this page, as well as the background and cut out, i pulled a few stamped flowers and colored them with a combination of art crayons and iridiscent paste, so that they have a light touch of colour.

I layered the flowers in an "S" form around the picture and cut out so that they merge with the stamped images in the background.  A few more small details complete the page.  I have created a small video that will show you how this page came together:

This page is soft, simple and perfect to document the "new" love between siblings.  Remember to check VIcki's products, her paper collections and media line are perfect to document all those love memories.  If you have questions on how this came together, just contact me!
