Perfect!

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits   - PERFECT!  -

Hello there!

It has been a busy week here in my blog, once again today there will be double duty as it is reveal week.  But we can complain when we are creating beautiful memories in paper.    In this case, this month i have been lucky to play with the beautiful Swan Lake from Clique Kits (and the kit is gorgeous!).  It was so versatile that i created a variety of projects, and a few that will be coming to the blog next week.

I started by using the Cut Shoppe's Oodles of Doodles to create a stitching pattern for this joint heart image.  I used 4 different hues of teal floss to stitch the edges of the cut file.

Once finished stitching, I went and used some shimmering watercolors to add pink and light teal to the image stitched on the page.

I used the papers from the Maggie Holmes's Gather collection (featured in this month's Swan Lake Kit) to layer  the picture of my sister and my daughter during our Thanksgiving weekend.  I fussy cut a few of the teal roses and added them to the clusters of ephemera, and exclusives around the picture.  To create the title, I simply used one of the exclusive printable tags, "Perfect".

I struggled with the placement of my journal lines, but found a solution by using a simple tag, and hiding it behind the picture (I simply used the glassine bag that contained this month's flair).  Here is the final layout:

I love the color combo, the simple but detailed designed, but above all I love the papers and ephemera  from the Swan Lake Kit that just enhanced the beautiful picture of my two girlies.   Don't forget to visit the Clique Kits website to see what the DT has created with this kit, or to obtain a  kit of our own,

Amazing Gift

Scrapbook Layout  - AMAZING GIFT  -

Hello!

It is rainy and cold here in Toronto, and since my dinning room table is being occupied by baking goods, i found a spot in front of the computer adding my projects to the blog.

I was inspired by circles and bubbles for this project;  i started by using a circle stencil to draw all the circles, and used a paper piercing to create a stitching guide.  A few hours of Netflix, and a cup of coffee made all the stitching go really fast.

Once the stitching was finished, I pulled my Clique Kits' Sapphire kit featuring all Pinkfresh Indigo Hills collection, and cut some circles from the papers, and  die cut pieces from the ephemera pack.  I created small clusters of circles along the layout, and added small details around it.

I added a picture of my daughter and our baby on the day we brought him home for the first time.   I cut it into a circle, and matted onto some papers from the collection.  I continued my circle motive by adding die-cut pieces, and the Clique Kits exclusive flair in a small cluster around the picture.

For the title of the layout, I used one of the puffy stickers, and the alphas (both from Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hills collection) included in the Clique Kits' Sapphire kit.   Once everything was glued, I trimmed around the edges of the page, and stitched it to one of the papers of the collection.  Here is the final layout:

I love the clean and simple look of the page, but so full of texture and color at the same time.  I really loved the versatility of this month's  papers.  I hope you find inspiration on this layout, and if you want to get a kit, visit Clique Kits (you can use the code NATHALIE10 to get 10% discount at checkout).

thanks for visiting today,

See you all very soon!

Lucky Me

Scrapbook Layout - Lucky Me -

A quick look at the layout.

Hi there!,

As i continue to upload the many finished layouts to my blog.  I am happy to see that all of them look different form each other, but have a lot in common at the same time.  This particular layout was inspired by the cut file, and my love for all things stitched.

The string heart background of the layout.

To start this layout, I  just drew a heart on the page, and used a piercing tool to create a stitching guide for the string art.   The colors of the thread were chosen to match the colors in the Life is Beautiful collection from Fancy Pants Designs.

a closer look at the title of the piece

Next i added the title of the layout.  This was created using a Silhouette store cut file, and backed with papers from the collection.  I chose to place the title at the bottom of the heart, but added a bit of gesso behind the cut file, so that the pattern would disappear a bit, and the title will be more visible in the layout.

The picture of my 3 kids (one of last Christmas outtakes, and a favorite of mine) was placed in the middle of the heart.  I used papers from the collection to layer the picture, and small clusters around it, too.

To finish the layout, I added some enamel dots, and a few lines of journal.  I love the  fact that the page has a fresh look even though the picture was taken in the middle of winter.

Thank you for visiting the blog!,  as always let me know if you have any questions about this layout.

see you all soon!!

Always Together

Scrapbook Layout  - Always Together -

a close up of the layout

Hello there!,

All my pre-orders for the new collections are trickling in, and I am still trying to put a dent on my stash.  This time, I have chosen to work with Fancy Pants's "Good Fellow" collection to document  a picture of my family and in-laws on Father's Day.

A close up to the hand-stitched  background.

To create the background, I used the Cut Shoppe's Peace Out cut file to cut the circles out of the different papers on the collection.  Once cut, I glued the pieces onto white cardstock, making sure to alternate the patterns on each circle.  Using a piercing tool, the entire edge of each circle was marked to create a stitching pattern for each circle.  I chose to alternate the colors of embroidery floss used in each circle.

Once the background was done, the picture was attached to the center of the layout.  A few clusters of stickers, cut outs and chipboard pieces were used to create clusters around the picture.  The rosette used in the layout was made with scraps from papers used in a previous layout.

For the title, I used the Alphas that were included in the collection kit.  Though the color is lighter that what i would have gone for,  I like that the tone matches the page perfectly.

the final layout

To finish the page,  added a few details around the edge of the page, and a few lines about when and where the picture was taken.

I really hope you like the layout,  I am off to keep using the last few days of summer break documenting my summer adventures.

See you around!!
