Summer Escape

Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories  - SUMMER ESCAPE -

Hi there Simple Stories Fans and Friends!
Nathalie with you today to bring you  a fun and cheery layout that will surely put you in a Summer mood!  The new Simple Stories Hello Summer collection is perfect to document Summer, the colors and designs are amazing. So i had to use a bit of everything in the collection to create this page:

I was inspired by the umbrella die cut to create this page, and all i can think was paper rosettes.  So i cut strips of paper of about 12x1.5 and 12x1in to create the rosettes.

Then used the cardstock stickers as centers of the rosettes.   Once they were all ready, the  rosettes were glued to the b-side of the Sn@p basics Chestnut/white dot paper on a diagonal.

The picture was then added (lots of foam adhesive and pop dots are behind the picture) and a few clusters were created at the corners of the picture using a combination of the cardstock stickers and die cuts, the small umbrella is also featured in the cluster.

Finally i used the large chipboard word with a sticker from the 12x12 sticker combo page to form the title of this page.   To finish the page, a strip of the Life is Good paper was added to the sided of the page.

Just look at all those colors and the happiness it brings.   So ready for Summer. I hope you check the entire Hello Summer collection, it should be hitting your local scrapbook stores right now.

XO

Wanderlust

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - WANDERLUST -

Now onto project 2 of the NSD!!

I love working with dimension on my pages, and that can easily be achieved though adhsive, clusters, layers, etc.  So i created this page using a  few dimensional techniques.

I am using one of Paige Evans cutfiles for this page, and lots of foam adhesive to back the cut file with papers from the Here and There collection.

To accent the dimension of the letters, I have added a few clusters around the letters.  This serve as embellishments but also give a sense of depth to the page.

Next I am using a variety of embellishments to create dimension in a cluster.  Foam adhesive and different type of embellishments work great for this.

and then to finish, I played with layers so that there is a lot of dimension and interest in the picture.  This also makes the picture pop in the layout.  Here is the final layout:

I love this page, though it is busy, it is  so colorful and filled with details.

Now i hope you join us at the Scrapbook Nerd Friends and fans page to join in our NSD celebration.

See you back in a bit!!!

Her Time

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  -  HER TIME -

Hi there!

it has been a very surreal week for our family, and i totally almost forgot to share this week's inspiration for Scrapbook Nerd.

I was totally inspired by this Ina Moreva cut file to create a dimensional layout( i love dimension).  So i manipulated the cut file a bit to obtain a group of flowers and then added a few extra flowers to the center of some of them.

Once the background was cut, i used a bone folder and a sculpting ball tool to give the petals of each flower a bit of movement.

Next I backed each of the flowers with papers from 1Canoe2 Twilight collection (love the colors of the collection!).I used the wooden buttons of the collection to add centers for the larger flowers, and then used some French knots to add some texture to the center of the smaller flowers,

I added a few more stitching details to bring attention to the picture, this time i chose to stitch the flying pattern of some of the fussy cut moths from one of the papers from the collection.

Then added the picture and a few of the rub on fireflies next to it, as to mark the spot for the title of this page.

Since i wanted to keep everything very soft, i  just added a few small elements to the picture, all from the collection, and a few lines of  journal to complete this page.

LOVE how this turned out,  the dimension and colors of this page are perfect for the soft picture of my daughter.  Super simple, and love all the clean look of the page.

Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in this page.

Take care!

Snow Selfie

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd -  SNOW SELFIE  -

Hi there!

It is theme week at Scrapbook Nerd!, and the theme is winter/holidays, so I thought I will combine some of my favorite things in one page.

First I used the Very Merry cut file to create the row of snowflakes in the edge of the mat, and then add a bit of foam adhesive to create dimension on the page.

Next,  I wanted a large title, so I pulled the Open Alpha, and Snow Day cut files from the Cut Shoppe to create the large title.   The letters were cut from two different papers, white for the SNOW, and one of Crate Paper's SNow and Cocoa collection for the SELFIE part, then they were all backed with the WInter Wonderland papers from Simple Stories.

The picture of us on the last day of the year is the center piece of this page, and it was easily framed with pieces from the WInter WOnderland collection, and the golden snowflakes from Crate Paper.  Here is the final page:

I love this page,  it is perfect for our family picture.   I went for very subtle colors, and love the result of the texture on the edge of the pages.

Remember to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the materials used in this page, and don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions on how this came together.

Take care!

Materials Used:

Crafty Fun

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - CRAFTY FUN -

Hello CTK fans and friends!

It is time for a new 3-to-Inspire challenge, and this weekend Nathalie is providing the inspiration for this challenge.

Here are the prompts she used in her page:

  1. Add dimension to your page
  2. Create a title that combines different alpha styles
  3. Use inks, watercolors, and/or paint on your background
Here is what i have created with these prompts:

It all started when I formed the rolled flowers using the Fancy Pants "Take Note" collection papers (the die used is called "Rolled Flower" from Maya Road).  I used both sides of the papers to create the flowers, and here is where the dimension on the page comes from.

Since the layout documents my niece on one of her crafty adventures with my scrapbook materials, I  wanted to add a bit of a messy/colorful background, so i used a few splatters of Prima watercolor to  add color to the background.

I added a few details along the page, so that there are a few details in small clusters.  This month's stamp was oh so perfect for this page, as well as the puffy stickers from Maggie Holmes Carousel collection that are included in this month's kit.   Those curly lines were ideal to frame the page.

Finally for the title, and last prompt of this challenge, I used  the beautiful gold/mint alpha in combo with some of the puffy stickers to create the title of this page.   A few lines of journal, gold and black ink splatter complete the page.

If you would like to see how this page was created, just sit and enjoy the following video!

I hope you  are inspired to use the prompts to make a page of your own!  I cannot wait to see what you create!

Now it is your turn!  Use the three prompts to create your own project, and share them with us here in the Gallery or the Facebook CTK Fans page.   We look forward to seeing your creations!
