Home Sweet Home

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - HOME SWEET HOME -

Hi there!

It is theme week at Scrapbook Nerd, and we all were asked to create a project about our Summer Favorites.   Well, I chose to document my baby's favorite... Sitting in the living air conditioned living room!!!

Using  a Paige Evans cut file, and Amy Tangerine's Shine On collection, the backrgound was created.   A bit of foam adhesive helps adding dimension to this pretty light background.   The paper that serves as base for this page comes from Simple Stories High Style paper pad.

Using the Shine On collection, a few clusters were created around the large title.   I mixed a few stickers from Simple Stories Good Vibes collection, and a few stickers from Citrus twist Kits that are in my stash

To frame the picture, I created two clusters of ephemera, stickers and fussy cut pieces from the Shine On collection.    The colors in this collection are to die for!!!

A few lines of journal were hidden under the large title.   IF you know my work, then you know that large titles are my favorite, so this is a home run in my view!

Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in this page.   There are so many new goodies arriving at the store you don't want to miss.

As always I am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

XO

Explorer - Take Your Time

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - EXPLORER - TakeYour Time - -

Hi there!

It is the middle of the week, which means it is time for a new project for Scrapbook Nerd.   If you follow my work, then you will  know there has not been a Pinkfresh Studio collection i have not loved. So this time i reached for the Let Your Heart Decide collection to create a page about my ever-growing boy.

First i cut the star wreath (Paige Evans Design)from white cardstock, and  used it to mark the center circle of the cut out onto white cardstock.  Then used a few shades of blue Distress Oxides to create the water color background of the page, making sure to leave the center circle intact.

While the background dried, all the stars were backed using papers from the Let Your Heart Decide collection.  A bit of foam adhesive was added to bring some dimension to the page.

Once the background was dried, it was trimmed and then glued to white cardstock, and the wreath was then secured in place.   A few clusters of ephemera and stickers from the collection, as well as the mix 2, Live More and The case of the Blahs (all from Pinkfresh Studio) were then added along the wreath.

I chose to add the picture to the bottom right corner of the page, and then added a  large cluster at the bottom of the picture, and then used some of the negative center space to add journal lines.

Finally to create the title, i used a combination of the collection stickers, and added them to the top corner of the picture.  A few stamped sentiments using the collection's stamp complete this page:

Totally loving how this page turned out.  The colors of the collection were ideal to bring this everyday picture to live, but mostly to convey the sentiment of having your baby grow up and start a new chapter on his life.

Remember to check for all the materials used in this page at Scrapbook Nerd store and contact me if you have questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!

Wanderlust

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - WANDERLUST -

Now onto project 2 of the NSD!!

I love working with dimension on my pages, and that can easily be achieved though adhsive, clusters, layers, etc.  So i created this page using a  few dimensional techniques.

I am using one of Paige Evans cutfiles for this page, and lots of foam adhesive to back the cut file with papers from the Here and There collection.

To accent the dimension of the letters, I have added a few clusters around the letters.  This serve as embellishments but also give a sense of depth to the page.

Next I am using a variety of embellishments to create dimension in a cluster.  Foam adhesive and different type of embellishments work great for this.

and then to finish, I played with layers so that there is a lot of dimension and interest in the picture.  This also makes the picture pop in the layout.  Here is the final layout:

I love this page, though it is busy, it is  so colorful and filled with details.

Now i hope you join us at the Scrapbook Nerd Friends and fans page to join in our NSD celebration.

See you back in a bit!!!

Not Today!!!

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - NOT TODAY!!! -

Hi there!

It is Product Spotlight at Scrapbook Nerd, and this month is all about Pinkfresh Studio.  So the DTs will be creating projects using their collections to create a project of their own.   Once I saw the new The Case of the Blahs collection, I knew that it would work with my every day life pictures, just like the one documented of my constant fight with losing my eyeglasses,  just to find them atop of my head.

For this i took advantage of the papers of the collection to create a paper pieced background.  The "Akward" paper was cut on a diagonal, then one of the new triangles was flipped to the b side, and hand stitched together.  To compensate for the angle of the cut, a strip of paper was also hand stitched to the top and bottom of the layout.

To create the large title, one of Paige Evans font cut file was used.  The title letters were welded together, and cut from white cardstock.  Each empty space was then backed with a different paper from the 6x6 paper pad.

To bring more intererst to the title, the exclamation marks were backed with some phrases that are recurring in the paper designs.   The title was then attached to the layout using a bit of foam adhesive.

A few of the collection embellishments, and a few pieces from the Mix 2 were used to create a few clusters around the picture.  A few lines of journal and some ink splatters (not my best splattering effort) complete this page.

Let's just i totally love how this turned out, and the reality of the picture and the story behind it. If you haven't seen the new Pinkfresh collections, they are all available at Scrapbook Nerd, along with lots of the latest releases from other manufacturers, too!

As always let me know if you have questions on how this turned out.

See you all soon!
