Scrapbook Layout created for Maya Road  -  DREAM-

Hello Roadies!
Happy Spring to you all!
Nathalie here with you today sharing a new scrapbook layout using one of my favorite Maya Road products:  dies.
Maya Road - MArch

Maya Road offers a large selection of dies that are just so beautiful, and can be used for all kinds of crafts.  This time, I wanted to share the last project created for Creativation 2017 using  the Geometric Stars Die set.

DREAM-4

This project started with a bit of mixed media on the background.  By simply using some watercolor, and the packaging technique, the background was set to look like a blue sky.   While it dried,  A large moon was cut on the Silhouette Cameo.   I wanted to keep the layout monochromatic, but brought just small color pops by backing the cut file with papers from Maggie Holmes' Gather collection.

DREAM-5

A little bit of hand stitching does not only secure the cut files together, but adds texture to the project.  Before gluing the crescent moon to the background,  a hole was poked at the top  corner of the moon.  Here I used some crochet thread to attach two Star Bright Charms, and  a Ken Oliver Vintage Heart and Key Charms, so that they hung on top of the picture i was about  to add.

DREAM-3

The picture of my little sleeping on my brother in law's arms was perfect for this layout.  I simply layered some gold vellum behind the picture, and a piece of Ken Oliver's Vintage Trim- Rick Rack edge -.    A small cluster was created at the opposite side of the picture using a Journaling Wood Token, some Vintage Crafting Tassels (Milk white), and a small Chipboard heart (colored with gold paint)

DREAM-2

To add to the dreamy feeling of the project, the Geometric Stars die was used to cut smooth white card stock.  A small piece of gold marbled vellum was then sandwiched between two of the die cuts, so that there white edge of the star will show on both sides.   These stars were then attached to create clusters around the big crescent moon.

DREAM-6

To finish the project, a large cork sticker was added to create the title for this piece, and some small embellishments just add little pops of color around the page.  Here is the final layout:

I hope this serves as inspiration to stop by the Maya Road on-line store, and check all the beautiful projects being used in this project, as well as the large selection available.  Remember to use the code DIESOFMARCH to receive 25%off all your die purchases until March 31st.

As always, I am a comment away if you have any questions on how this project came together.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love Him!

Scrapbook Layout created for The Cut Shoppe  - LOVE HIM! -

Hello!

I am up on the Cut Shoppe's blog with a new layout showcasing some of their beautiful cut files, and Clique Kits "Wonderland" kit.

The layout features one of the images in the " Bless my Heart" cut file as a background to the page.   The heart was sized until the  hearts within the image were slightly bigger than 1 in.  Next i cut the hearts from one of Pink Paislee's Moonstruck collection and lightly glued them down.  A few hand stitches just held the hearts in place.

The pictures of my teens holding their little cousin were then layered using papers and embelishments from Clique Kits Wonderland kit.

The title is a combination of the "Cupid's Arrow" cut file, and Alphas from the Moonstruck collection.  The arrow was sized to cover the length of the two pictures together, then cut in one of the papers in the kit.  Next another image was cut of an offset of  the page in white card stock, both image were glued together, and then mounted on the layout.  A few lines of journal around the heart, and some gold splatters completes this project.

The beautiful "Wonderland" kit from Clique Kits (you can use the code NATHALIE10  to obtain 10% discount at checkout) worked seamlessly to complete this layout.   The new cut files available at the Cut Shoppe's Etsy store are always a joy to work with.

As always let me know if you have any questions.

Special Bond

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits -Instagram Share -   SPECIAL BOND  --

Hello there!

Today is share day over at Clique Kits, and this month it has been all about using the beautiful and versatile Wonderland kit, which features papers from Bella Blvd., and Pink Paislee's Moonstruck collection.     I have created a small video on how this page came together, please enjoy!

Here are just a few close ups of the layout:

Since the background of the layout is busy, and colorful, the clusters around the picture were kept simple.

The title of the page was created by combining one of this month's cut files with the Illustrated Faith alphas included in the kit.

Here is a look at the completed layout (all the materials used come from the Wonderland kit from Clique Kits.

Aren't the colors in this month's Clique Kits just beautiful.   The Wonderland kit was just to perfect to document this sweet moment between my two kids.

Thanks for visiting today, and don't forget to visit Clique Kits to check the Wonderland kit or the upcoming Hey Sugar kit!   Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions about this layout, or just to say hello!

Have a Blessed Holiday!

Bold Layout Series #3: Be You

Scrapbook Layout   - BE YOU -

Hello friends,

With the year coming to a close, I have been reminiscing of the good times this year brought us, and specially looking at how my kids have grown.  So i decided to create a bold layout for both of them and the baby (our doggie), all using Clique Kits' Wonderland kit.   This month's  kit is beautiful and versatile, a must for all your paper craft needs.

To start this layout, I printed the picture of my daughter to fit into a 8.5x11 sheet.   I chose to put the title within the picture, so I picked a cut file from the Silhouette store, and cut the picture and a white piece of card stock.   I glued the two pages together, and  layered a small piece of vellum behind the title.   I glued the picture to a paper from the Moonstruck kit featured in this month's Wonderland Kit .

To balance the title, I chose to create a large cluster of ephemera at the opposite (diagonally) edge of the picture.  I combined the exclusive stickers, and die cuts from Clique Kits's Wonderland kit with pieces from the Moonstruck collection, and Illustrated Faith's tabbies.  I added my journal lines along the empty space at the bottom of  the page.  Here is the final layout:

Once again, the large picture is a bold choice for a layout, so I chose so simplify the project to create a striking, but soft look to the page.   Once again, the beautiful Clique Kits's Wonderland kit was so versatile to complete this layout.

If you have time, check the other two posts of the Bold Layout series to see how i used the one kit to create 3 large picture layouts.

Bold Layout Series #1 : Wild About You

Scrapbook Layout  - WILD ABOUT YOU -

Hello everyone,

As I start to close another chapter in our lives.  I have spent the last days looking back at pictures of my kids through the year, I am fascinated with how much they have grown and changed.  So i decided to create a series to document them before their birthdays (both my teens are Christmas babies).  Since we consider our doggie as our baby, I decided to start this BOLD LAYOUT series with him.

Thankfully, this month i had the beautiful Clique Kits' Wonderland kit to play with, and I am amazed on how versatile it is (you definitely have to check it out).   I started this layout by cutting the bulls eye circles from the Cut Shoppe's May Mash Up cut file.   I halved the cut file, and backed with papers from the kit.  These were then layered under the 8.5x11 in picture of our baby.

I decided to create a cluster of ephemera on the top right corner of the picture, I just used exclusives from the kit, along with some Illustrated Faith tabbies and Jillibean Soup's wood veneers (this are all part of Clique Kits's Wonderland kit).

Since the cut file used circles, i am using this Amy Tangerine tag from Clique Kits' Swan Lake kit (November 2016) to create the title of this layout.  Once again, I layer circle pieces from the ephemera pack, and tabbies that were included on this month's Wonderland kit.   Since there was  a lot of white space right under my baby's face, in the picture, i used a fine tip sharpie to write all the journal lines on the picture.  Here is the final layout:

If you follow my work, you know  i don't use large pictures, but i am glad i worked this for my 3 kids.  They will be the perfect ending to this year's scrapbook album.  I have finished all the layouts already, using one single kit, and will be posting them by the end of the week (i have a few assignments coming throughout the week).  So be sure to check back on the weekend to see how I used Clique Kits's Wonderland kit  in the layouts.

Thanks for visiting today!

LOVE

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits's December Challenge  - LOVE -

Hello everyone!

It is challenge time over at Clique Kits, and this month we are using the beautiful "Wonderland" kit.  The kit features Bella Blvd's You are Loved collection, as well as Pink Paislee's Moonstruck collection.   I have created a small video on how the layout was constructed, enjoy watching:

I hope you enjoyed the short video!  Here are a few notes and close ups on how the layout came together:

The background was created by welding some of the exclusive cut files -available for purchase in the Clique Kits store- .  I wanted the  look of the word love being transported by flying butterflies, so I size them to give the illusion of movement.   Once the cut out was created, I backed the butterflies with papers from Pink Paislee Moonstruck collection.   Also, I used some handstitching to secure the word love to the offset to the word that is welded to the butterflies.  A few machine stitches secure the butterflies to the layout.

To make sure the picture was also highlighted, I transform it into black and white, layered a few papers from the Moonstruck collection's 6x6 pad ( this is an add-on to this month's Wonderland Kit), and pieces of ephemera from the collection along with Clique Kit's exclusives, and Illustrated Faith's tabbies.

To finish, I added a few enamel dots, stickers, journal lines and the date when this picture was taken.    In addition, i added a few splatters of navy ink along the path already created with gold, pink, blush and teal color shine  drops.  Here is the final layout:

I really hope you can join us for this month's challenge over at Clique Kits, and while there check this month's Wonderland kit and all its add ons.  You can use the code NATHALIE10 to obtain 10% discount at checkout.

As always let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for visiting, today!
