Shine

Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories  - SHINE -

Hi there!  Nathalie with you today, and I am so excited to share with you a new layout that celebrates all those girly dreams of fairies and rainbows.   The new Dream Big  collection is filled with all rainbows, butterflies, fairies, mermaids, and unicorns just every little girl  and woman's dream.

For this page, I wanted to play with colors in the collection, so i used a Paige Evans cut file to recreate a rainbow for the background.

A paper from the High Style pad was used for the background,  a bit of white acrylic paint was added as to form a cloudy sky

A few layers of papers from the Dream Big collection were used to back the picture.  Just love all the patterns and colors in the collection!!!

To embellish the page, I placed a few of the fairy stickers, from the Dream Big collection, so that they formed a visual triangle on the page.   Stickers, die cuts and the new puffy stickers were added around each of the fairies so that they pop from the page.

Just love all the puffy stickers in the Dream Big collection, all the stars work so nicely around the clouds and rainbow in this page.

This layout was a joy to put together, all the icons and papers in the DREAM BIG collection are sure to bring a smile to your face.   I cannot wait to see what you all create with this new Simple Stories collection.

XO

Find Wonder in All Things

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - FIND WONDER IN ALL THINGS -

Hello there!

It is time for a new round of  DT projects for Scrapbook Nerd (I love the owners of this store!!).   This time I chose to work with the Dream Big collection from Fancy Pants Designs to document a picture of my daughter as we experience some beautiful skies while flying to Ecuador.

I used a cut file from the Silhouette Store to create the large stitched title in the page,  A bit of watercolor brings the title forward.  Then I trimmed the cardstock and glued it to one of the papers from the collection.

I chose to distress a piece of the mat, and inserted a small cluster of ephemera so that there are small little spots of interest along the page.   Just loved the unexpected cluster.

To bring all the  idea of flying, I used pieces from the collection to create the clusters around the page.   I fell in love with the birds icons from the collection!!

I love how this came together.   The colors are dreamy, and all that stitching sings in my heart.   Remember to stop by the Scrapbook Nerd store to check all the materials used here.  There are so many beautiful products available at  the store.

I will be back in a bit with a surprise for you all,

take care!!

My Personal Journal

Traveler's Notebook layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - MY PERSONAL JOURNAL -

Hello there!

I hope you all are enjoying Summer's last hooray!

Today, Scrapbook Nerd is sharing a new sketch and inspiration for all its followers.   I am not that great with sketches, though they are a good starting point when creating a new layout.  But I like challenges, and set to use it to create a spread on my TN, instead.

This is sketch #41, and it suited the TN format rather easily.  I chose to rotate the sketch completely, and be as true to the design as possible.  Here is my take on the sketch:

I used Fancy Pants Designs'  Dream Big collection, as well as some pieces from the Golden Days collection to add the details on this layout.   First, I created a film strip on Lightroom to house the pictures being documented.

Next attached a 6x6 paper to the TN insert, and used  stickers from the collections to create small clusters just like the ones shown in the sketch.

Finally, I added my journal lines to a tag from the Golden days collection, and just added a few small stickers around it to complete the page.

It was easy to work with this sketch on my TN, and the page came together in no time.  I hope you visit the Scrapbook Nerd blog to see what this sketch inspired some of the members to create.  Remember i am a comment away if you need any assistance.

See you all soon!!
