#1 DAD - Simple Stories

hi there !  Nathalie with you today with a new project fit for the upcoming Father's Day weekend, and what better way to celebrate and document those sweet memories than to use the new Dad Life collection from Simple Stories.

To start this page, i used cut file design # 249913 from Paige Evans - Silhouette Store- and cut the Star wreath out of white cardstock.

The stars in the die cut were back with papers from the Dad Life collection.  A few of the stars were kept blank so that they create a few breaks from all the patterned paper stars and to help create a dimensional look for the  page

Once the wreath was ready, it was glued it to the background (Say Cheese 4 basics paper) so that it sit a bit off the layout.   Carefully, i trimmed the excess and then glued it to other side of the page, so that  it reads as a link of circles.

The picture was backed and layered with papers from the collection and then glued onto the layout.  Using stickers and fussy cut images from collection, clusters were created around the picture and layout.   One of the large stickers was then propped with foam adhesive so that it serves as the title for  the page.

I hope this has inspired you to check the new DAD LIFE collection from Simple Stories.   It is the perfect collection to document your Father's day celebrations or daily life.

As always please do not hesitate me with any questions.

XO

Boys Rule

Scrapbook Layout created for Sinple Stories  -  BOYS  RULE!!! -

Hi there, Nathalie with you today bringing you a new colorful and fun layout using the new Simple Stories "LIL' DUDE" collection.   This collection is filled with fun details for all those little boys and kids at heart, but my favorite thing is that it features a "Boston Terrier" design in it, and as a mom of a "Boston Terrier" baby, i cannot get enough of it (and might have to hoard quite a bit of it, too!)

To create the background of this page, I used a Just Nick cut file  to create all the stars from white cardstock, and backed them all with papers from the Lil' Dude collection

Since the Boy Oh Boy paper from the collection is being used as the background,  a little bit of white acrylic paint was used to mute the pattern under the stars.

Once the stars were set with a bit of foam adhesive,  the picture of my nephew with our baby Boston Terrier was backed and layered with papers from the Lil' Dude Collection, and nestled in between the star clusters.     I created clusters of ephemera at the corners of the picture using all the embellishments from the collection.  Love all the small details in each embellishment!

In addition, small clusters were also created around the background.   Some cardstock stickers and stickers from the 12x12 sticker combo sheet were combined to add more interest to the page>.

The large Chipboard sticker phrase was used to create the title of this page.  Love the addition of black in the Lil' Dude collection!

This page is all about fun and my little nephew, and i love how easy it was to combine all the elements in the Lil' Dude collection in this page!!!  Remember to check it out, I am sure you will love it!!

XO

Sweet Dreams Little One

Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories-  Sweet Dreams Little One  -

Hello everyone! Nathalie with you today with a new layout that celebrates those sweet baby sleeping moments ( i so miss seeing my kids sleeping faces!).  The new Simple Stories  "OH, BABY!" collections are ideal to document all those sweet baby moments

To start this page, i drew a few stars on some of the patterned papers of the Oh, Baby! collection, and the Oh, Baby! Expecting collection,  backed them with white cardstock, and added a bit of hand stitching around the edges.

To create the title of the page, a JustNick Studio cut file was used.  All the letters of the cut out were backed using papers from the Oh, Baby! paper pad.  Having the smaller pattern of the large papers is perfect to combine and display a lot of color  in the title.  The chipboard sticker just completes the sentiment of the title and page.

I wanted to create a very soft look for this page, so I used a sheet of vellum to cover a light blue piece of cardstock, and added all the  the stars, picture and title on top of the vellum piece.

Just a few extra details were added to the picture and around the stars.  All those little star stickers are a easy way to complete the look of the page.   A few drops of gold ink were added to bring some shine to the page!

Love the softness of the page, and all the starry background is the perfect frame for my sweet sleeping cousin.  The new Oh, Baby! collections are ideal to document your parenting journey, and beyond!  Remember to chek them out at your local scrapbook store.
Well that is all for me for now.
XO

Shine

Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories  - SHINE -

I am up on the Simple Stories blog with two new projects using the new and gorgeous, "BEAUTIFUL" collection.  Here is the first project:

You know that feeling when you see a patterned paper, and suddenly the entire layout comes to mind, picture and all!   This is what happened as soon as i saw the "Shine Bright" paper from the Beautiful collection. For starters the name of the paper, and all the gold foil gave me the idea to create a star filled page.

Next i wanted to incorporate one of my favorite and most used techniques, "a large stitched title".   For this i used one  of the Simple Stories' Silhouette Store designs to cut the large "SHINE"  word from one of the papers from the High Style paper pad.  It was then backed with the Shine Bright paper, and then stitched together with pink and gold embroidery thread.

Once the stitching was completed, then I trimmed the page, and stitched on a slant to another of the High Style papers from the pad (I love that all these papers combine seamlessly), and attached the picture to the bottom of the page.

Using the same cut file, a lots of stars were created from different papers from the collection (all the leftover pieces from previous projects), and these were scattered around the page, so that they look as exploding from the bottom corner of  the page.

Using pieces from all the embellishment add ons, small clusters were created along the page, so that they form a visual triangle, and bring attention to the picture, and title of the page.  Here is the final

I love the combination of colors, dimension, and texture in this page.   It came together in a heart beat (though the stitching took some time), and the end result is just worthy of the title.

As always let me know if you have any questions on how this came together!

See you in the next post!
