Merry Selfie

Scrapbook Layout created for Maya Road  - MERRY SELFIE  -

Hello Roadies!
 Nathalie here with a bit of Christmas inspiration using the beautiful Maya Road products.  I am sure by now you all are almost ready to get together with your families, and record all those sweet moments, but always remember to include yourself in the picture!   Today, I want to show you how i documented my latest selfie.
  

To create this layout, a simple triangle was drawn on white cardstock -to recreate the Christmas tree-;  then a few shades of green watercolor were added to give it some color and dimension.   While the background dried, all the snowflakes from the Snowflake Mini Chipboard set were gold foiled.
 

Once the background was dried, all the snowflakes were then glued inside the watercolor tree.  A  White Pretty Resin bow was added to the top of the tree to add texture, and mark the tree topper snowflake.



This layout was created, and embellished using Simple Stories's "Very Merry" collection.    The colors in the collection match perfectly that of the ones in the picture.   



There are small clusters of ephemera and embellishments cluster around the layout.   On the top corner of the picture, a Wood Snapshot token,  a small heart from the Ken Oliver Lock My Heart Charm set, and a few pieces from the paper collection create a little cluster that bring attention to the picture.


The title for this page was created using one of the Very Merry chipboard stickers, and the Just My Type Clear Stamp set.   A few more embellishments and a few drops of gold ink complete the page.

Love Your Selfie

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  -  LOVE YOUR SELFIE  -

Hello there!

I am half way my reveal week for Scrapbook Nerd,   just  a few more projects to go.  

My little nephew is always on the run,  but he usually slows down for food, and to take selfies.   I make sure to always snap a few pictures of him  - they grow so fast-.   Thankfully my dad also took the picture of my phone as i was snapping the selfie, and gave me a copy.   I love this picture, and chose to use it as the centerpiece for this piece.

For the background of this page, I used a Silhouette cut file to create the large title.  Once cut, i stitched it to the page following the colors in the paper.

  


The title takes a large part of  the page, but left enough space for me to add the picture, and create clusters using pieces from the Life Noted collection, and the Mix #1 both from Pinkfresh Studio.

To ground the page. I added small pieces of papers  as to create a paper corner.  I tucked some pieces from the collections in this paper corners - this helped  create a visual triangle on the page.  Here is the final layout:

Selfie Love

Hello there!

This is my last entry for my week showcase at Scrapbook Nerd.  For this layout, I wanted to showcase the beautiful paper from the collection, so I went for simplicity and lots of paper in the layout.

I started by cutting a corner of one of the patterned papers,  I did the same to 2 more papers, but each time I increased the width and length of the cut, keeping the angle.  I glued them to white cardstock in an ascending order from large to small.

Here is the cut that inspired the layout.

The residual paper was then glued in the same fashion at the opposite corner side of the corner cuts.  I used the same technique of staggering the papers .  This created a beautiful angle in the page, and I used the corner of the angle to position the picture there.

I used a gold paint marker to color the wood veneer;
the other letters were fussy cut from one of the patterned papers.

To balance the layout, I added a small cluster at the bottom of the angle of this page.  Once again, I added fussy cut pieces, ephemera and stickers.

A little creasing of the edges of the paper, a few lines of journal at the bottom of  the title,and  the date of the picture completed the page.

This page came together rather quickly, and having papers from the same collection take some of the guess work from the planning.
