Hello Amazing

Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories  - HELLO AMAZING -

  Hello there!

This second project  at Simple Stories blog is all about my little cousin (she was named after me!), and she is also growing up so fast, and we only get to see her when we visit our family in Ecuador, so it is easy to see how much she has changed, and i wanted to document her as she enter into her tween years.

This page started with the large heart in  background.  I drew two parallel hearts in a piece of white cardstock, and cut the edges of both hearts so that they formed a hollowed out heart.  For the background of this layout, I used one of the papers in the High Style Paper pad -that matched the colors of the Beautiful collection-, so i searched on my stash for some thin crochet yarn that matched the paper's color, and used it to wrapped the entire heart cut out.

Once the heart was completely covered in yarn, I  cut a large heart out of the mint marbled paper from the 6x8 paper pad -using the wrapped cut out as a template-, and glued it to the back of the hear cut out.  I used hot glue to attached this piece to the mat ( as i wanted to completely secure it).

There are so many floral motives in this collection, so I used a pair of fine scissors to fussy cut them from different papers, and also to trim the white edges from the stickers and die cut pieces -this allows for the flowers to mixed together without much space between them-.   I used a large number of them to layer behind the top of the heart and picture, along with some of the stickers and die cuts from this collection (there are so many to chose from)

The die cuts in this collection are just so beautiful, that i had to use them to create the title of this page.   I affixed the two die cuts at the bottom of the heart, and added a few of the floral motives behind the words.  The balloons sticker adds the little bit of whimsy to the page.

I love the end result of this page.  It has texture, softness, and lots of flowers...what is there not to love!!

I  hope these inspire you to create beautiful pages about all those special people in your life.  Trust me, once you receive the new Simple Stories BEAUTIFUL collection, you will also be looking at those special pictures to document.

AS always, let me know if you have any questions on how these came together.

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!

Lovely Dream

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits's Pep Rally   - LOVELY DREAM -

Hello friends,

It is pep rally day over at Clique Kits!  Which means two things, there will be a lot of inspiration from the DT and subscribers using the beautiful BEE YOU kit, and a new kit will be unveiled.

For today's project, I chose to play with two of this month's kits exclusive cut files.   I simply welded some of the flowers together, then welded this image to one of the hexagons in the beehive cut file, and cut the image on white card stock.  In addition, I used the pencil attachment to draw the rest of the hexagon shaped around the hexagon.

The cut out was backed with vellum and then with one of the papers from the kit,  a bit of hand stitching  to the pierce edges completes the look of this layout.

To bring softness to the page, I simply trimmed a bit of the white card stock, and stitched it to the a side of the paper that backs the center hexagon.   The picture of my cousin and my goddaughter (her daughter) was then attached to the bottom corner of the center hexagon.   A few pieces from the kit form the title and frame the picture.

I hid the journal on this page using a small envelope ( taped to the back of the layout),  and wrote all the details on how much  i love these girls even when they are so far from me, and i have to live through video chats and pictures.   To bring attention to the journal card,  I added some of the cork triangles at the top of the page, and glued a small butterfly along with it,  Here is final layout:

It is amazing how  two images can be manipulated to create the background of this layout.  You can find the cut files used for this layout at Clique Kits.   You can find all the digital products at the Clique Digital Store, and since you are there, take some time to check what is available in the shelves  -there is always new stuff being added-.

As always let me know if you have any questions on  how any of  this came together.

Thanks for visiting today!

Our Sweetest Blossom

Scrapbook Layout - Our Sweetest Blossom -

a close up of the layout

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are enjoying the last days of summer vacation.  We are starting to ready all our stuff and lives for a new school year.  Particularly, I have been trying to also put a dent in my paper stash (since I have a lot of new collections on pre-order that soon will be arriving).   At the same time, one of my cousins recently had a baby girl, and i had to create a layout to capture the moment, please enjoy the video on how the layout came together...

I am trying to use as much of Pink Paislee's Fancy Free collection, so I have chosen two of the papers to complete this project.   First I cut up all the beautiful flowers out of paper #9, and created a flower cascade along the one side of the page.

the flowers were added with different glue and foam dots to add layers and dimension on the page.

Before gluing everything down, I used my Cameo  to create the title for this page.  Once the title was stitched, I proceed to color the words using some shimmer watercolors.

This picture was taken a few days after she was born, and was captured using a cell phone.  I chose to work with Adobe Lightroom to clean up the image.  I chose to add just a few pieces of ephemera  around the picture...

a close up to the layout.

Finally, I added just  a few notes on how it feels to be a long distance ncousin/aunt at the bottom of the page, along with some  other small details.  Here is the final layout...

I love how the papers worked on this page,  it took very little effort to put together.

Thanks for visiting today,

See you around!!
