Hello Fall

Scrapbook Layout created for Simple Stories  - HELLO FALL -

Hi there, Nathalie with you today bringing you a bit of Fall.   I think that i look forward to the Fall season more than anything else; it's the cozy feeling, the colors, the cooler weather, PSL( Pumpkin Spice Latte!) and of course the crunching leaves.  And this year, Simple Stories new collection, "FOREVER FALL", is the perfect one to document all these treasured moments

To construct this page, a cut file from the Silhouette store was used to cut out letters to form the title from various papers from the collection.

While i hand stitched the title, I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe to a group of leaves from all the papers in the collection. The color palette of the papers and designs in the collection are just perfect for the season, that i just couldn't chose one!

To have all the details of the page pop, i chose to use the Sn@p Basic Walnut/Cream Dot paper as a mat for this page.  Once the title was set in place, I layered some of the leaves at both corners of the title

A few stickers and die cuts were also nestled around the clusters just to  bring more interest to the page.  I added the small, "Hello", circle die cut behind the top corner of the title so that it can read as "HELLO FALL".

Since Fall is my favorite season, there is always so many memories being made outdoors;  the picture was embellished with a few clusters at the top and bottom right corner. Just love all the embellishments included in the FOREVER FALL collection.

I hope this page has inspired you start your Fall documenting.   The FOREVER FALL collection by Simple Stories is sure to bring the season to your page!

Happy Fall you all

XO

My Travel Journal

Traveler's Notebook Spread created for Clique Kits -  MY TRAVEL JOURNAL -

Hello there!

I am still working on finishing my travel journal, though i have mapped each one of the pages, and have the journal lines in place for each, i am still to print the pictures, and so on.     Thankfully this month's Clique Kits' Sundance TN kit is packed with lots of goodies from Ashley Horton's Wish You Were Here collection for Pretty Little Studio.    I had purchased a few pieces from this collection, as they are versatile to document all kinds of memories.   Let me show you how i worked the first page of my Travel Journal with this kit.

Ashley Horton has designed a free cut file,  "LET'S GO", and i thought it will be perfect as the cover backflap for my Travel Journal, so I used my Cameo to sketch the design, and used a paper piercer to create the stitching guide for the design.  An hour of stitching completed the page.

The colors in the stitching match those of the entire paper collection.  But  just to complete the page, i added a small word sticker -with a bit of foam  adhesive backing- to  the center of the go, and the title was then formed.  I used a lot of double sided tape to glue the page to the cover of the traveler's notebook.

Next, I cut one of the cards  so that i can stretch it to fit into my midori.   I used the blank space to add my picture, along with a few pieces of ephemera from the kit, and the CK exclusives.

I love that i was able to finally put together the cover page of my Travel Journal.   The stitched cover, and the card is perfect to document the picture of our boarding passes. I am in love with the colors and textures.

I hope this inspires you to take a look at the Sundance kit at Clique Kits.   It truly is beautiful.  Remember to let me know if you have any questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!

Amazing & Timeless

Scrapbook layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - Amazing & Timeless  -

Hello there!

This is my last project for my week reveal at Scrapbook Nerd!

I think this month the theme of my reveal is fun with cut files.  I find cut files to be a spark to my imagination.  In fact this project changed as the background took shape.

I was inspired to create the background by the Wreathed in Love cut file from the Cut Shoppe.  Using the Cameo, the background was perforated.  A combination of 2 watercolor palettes gave color to the wreath, which then was stitched to add some texture to the layout.

Once the  wreath was finished, the concept changes completely, and i decided to fussy cut the flowers from Pink Paislee's Take Me Away collection.  I layered the picture with the flowers, ephemera and chipboard stickers from the sane collection, and a few embelishments from the Moonstruck collection,

For the title, i used a combination of ephemera pieces  and chipboard stickers from the 2 collections.   to tie in the design, a few drops of gold color shine, and gold rub-on starburst were placed along the page.  Here is the complete layout:

Even when the colors of the wreath are different form the ones in the leaves, the color scheme beautiful, and complement the black and white picture of my sister perfectly.

I hope this week's projects inspire you to take a second look at cut files and what you create with them.   Don't forget to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the materials used, and the Cut Shoppe for all the lovely cut files.

Thanks for visiting today!

Wild Heart

Scrapbook Layout for Scrapbook Nerd   - WILD 💓 -

Hello everyone!

It is almost the end of  my reveal week at Scrapbook Nerd (one more project for this month).   And this month was all about some of the women in my life, which means one of the littles (my niece and nephew) had to make it to a project.

This project was inspired by the colors in Pink Paislee's Take Me Away collection, available at Scrapbook Nerd store.   I paired all the colorful papers with, one of my favorite cut files, ever,  Spinwheels from the Cut Shoppe.   I simply added an offset to one of the spinwheels shapes. and cut different sizes of the isolated pinwheel.   Once I backed the shapes, different size adhesive foam, and glue dots were added to the back so that they all are at differerent heights.   I mapped the location of each spinwheel, and stitched the shape of the sticks onto the card stock.

I always built backgrounds before choosing pictures, and this time, I struggled trying to find the right picture for this layout.  But a few weeks ago was my sister's birthday, and my niece showed me her new room, and i asked her what was her favorite part, and she started jumping on the bed.  So this is one of 3 that i loved of her jumping, and then I found all the add ons that were perfect for it in the collection.   Here is final layout:

I love, love all the color in a white background (my favorite).  I am so happy with the end result!, and how the collection worked perfectly for this layout.  IF you want to check all the materials used here, do not hesitate to visit Scrapbook Nerd, and the Cut Shoppe.

As always, leave a note if you have any questions on how this came together.

Take care!
