Halloween Selfies

Scrapbook Layout   - HALLOWEEN SELFIES -

Hello, and Happy Halloween to you all!

I hope you are enjoying the day, whether you are trick or treating or just handing out candy.  Unfortunately, my kids are past the Halloween enthusiasm, and now we are just spectators to all the little smiles that knock at our door.  Since I was feeling nostalgic, I pulled my daughter's selfies from last year's Halloween, and documented her craziness.

I started by using the Wicked Good cut file, and the Ghost Town digital collection from The Cut Shoppe to create a large spider web, which i hand stitched to a mat (made of papers from the collection and some black cardstock).

I printed the picture in color, and layered it with papers from the collection.  I used the print and scan  function on the Silhouette cameo to cut the die cut pieces in the picture.  I also used the MInc to add some foil details to some of the die cuts and the words used in this cluster.  Here is another close up to the bottom cluster of this layout:

For the title, I am using the Halloween Acrylic piece from the Cut Shoppe (i love the pop of orange in the page), and some alpha stickers from Amy Tangerine's Better Together Collection.

Finally, i added a few splatters of black ink along the page.   I love the final look of this layout as the colors are traditional, and non-traditional but all together they scream Halloween:

I hope this serves as inspiration to document some of your Halloween memories,  you can always visit the Cut Shoppe to find all the  materials used in this layout.

Thanks for visiting!

Happy Halloween!!

Imagine-ck pep rally

Clique Kits Pep Rally   -  IMAGINE  -

Hello there,

You are just arriving from Enza's blog  ( the entire line up for today's Pep rally is located at the bottom of this post).

Welcome to my blog!  It is my first time taking part on the Clique Kits Pep Rally, and i am very excited to share one of the layouts i worked with this month's beautiful Sapphire kit.

The Sapphire kit features the beautiful Pinkfresh Studio's Indigo Hills collection, and these papers are truly beautiful, that i wanted to incorporate them all into a layout.  My choice was to use a punch to create butterflies out of each of the papers in the kit.  I  also use the same punch to create butterflies from different color vellum papers.

Once i had all the butterfly cut-outs, i lightly glued each butterfly to  a vellum one.    A few ink splatters were then sprinkled on the mat starting at the bottom corner, and moving up in a diagonal.

Next,I glued the picture (which i layered with some of the kit's exclusive cards), and using removable tape,  glued the layered butterflies following the path of the  ink splatters.

Using a paper piercing tool, i followed the path of the butterflies, and created a stitching guide by making holes in the mat.   I used gold and white embroidery thread to back-hand-stitch and secure the butterflies to the layout.

For the title, I used one of this month's Clique Kits exclusives to create the word imagine.   I cut the word on white card stock, and used a gold paint marker to color it.   I glued the word to the mat at the end of the stitched lines.  Here is the final layout:

I hope this serves as inspiration to pick your Clique Kits' Sapphire Kit;  there are still some left in the store, and also stop by to check the upcoming November kit -Swan Lake-.  Don't forget to comment on the blogs as you go along, you or a friend could win this month's kit...

Fall Snuggle

Scrapbook Layout created for The Cut Shoppe  - FALL SNUGGLE -

Hello there!

Today, I am up on the Cut Shoppe blog with a new layout about two of my favorite things: fall and my hubby!  Recently, we celebrated Thanksgivings (Oct. 10th) here in Canada, and we had family come over during the weekend.  Finally, Monday we were on our own, so we went for a family walk around our neighborhood.  As i always carry my camera with me, i asked my son to snap a few pictures of my husband and i along the walk.  This is my favorite of the bunch, so I had to create a lovely memory for it.

I used the Cut Shoppe's Boys Rule cut file to create the circle shapes ( i just cut out the star that was nested inside the circles). I backed the cut-out with vellum, and hand stitched the entire edge of  the circles.

Using the Leaf it to Me, and Oakley Avenue cut files from the Cut Shoppe, I created the leave cut outs out of card stock, vellum, and papers from Ashley Horton's Oakley Avenue collection for Pretty Little Studio.  I just clustered them  at both corners of the page.

The title and embelishments all come from the Oakley Avenue collection from Pretty Little Studio.  I love the color combination, it is perfect for all those fall memories.  Finally, I added a few details around the picture, and  called it done.  Here is the final layout:

I love, love this page! It is my hubby and I to a tee! Clean, colorful, simple and multilayered.

I hope this inspire you visit the Cut Shoppe Etsy store and pick some of the cut files available (they all are beautiful and versatile designs).  Also, the new Ashley Horton collection,  Oakley Avenue, is super cute, and a must if you love Fall as much as I do.

Thanks for visiting today.

See you all soon!

Amazing Gift

Scrapbook Layout  - AMAZING GIFT  -

Hello!

It is rainy and cold here in Toronto, and since my dinning room table is being occupied by baking goods, i found a spot in front of the computer adding my projects to the blog.

I was inspired by circles and bubbles for this project;  i started by using a circle stencil to draw all the circles, and used a paper piercing to create a stitching guide.  A few hours of Netflix, and a cup of coffee made all the stitching go really fast.

Once the stitching was finished, I pulled my Clique Kits' Sapphire kit featuring all Pinkfresh Indigo Hills collection, and cut some circles from the papers, and  die cut pieces from the ephemera pack.  I created small clusters of circles along the layout, and added small details around it.

I added a picture of my daughter and our baby on the day we brought him home for the first time.   I cut it into a circle, and matted onto some papers from the collection.  I continued my circle motive by adding die-cut pieces, and the Clique Kits exclusive flair in a small cluster around the picture.

For the title of the layout, I used one of the puffy stickers, and the alphas (both from Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hills collection) included in the Clique Kits' Sapphire kit.   Once everything was glued, I trimmed around the edges of the page, and stitched it to one of the papers of the collection.  Here is the final layout:

I love the clean and simple look of the page, but so full of texture and color at the same time.  I really loved the versatility of this month's  papers.  I hope you find inspiration on this layout, and if you want to get a kit, visit Clique Kits (you can use the code NATHALIE10 to get 10% discount at checkout).

thanks for visiting today,

See you all very soon!

Everyday Has A Story

Scrapbook Layout     -  EVERYDAY HAS A STORY  -

Hi there!,

I have been busy working on some new projects, that i had forgot to enter them into my blog, so here is a quick overview of one of the layouts created with Clique Kits's October kit, Sapphire.  To say that i love this kit will be an understatement, I have pretty much used up all the Pinkfresh Studio's Indigo Hills papers, and I am down to scraps.

For this layout, i am using Paige Evans's Chevron cut file (Studio Calico),  it was easy to back the cut-out with the papers from the kit ( i mainly used scraps).  I used foam adhesive to add dimension to the page.

I had this picture of my son and nephew watching tv their pajamas.  It depicts our daily life, but also how close they are -even though there is a 13 year gap in their ages-.   So I simply layered the picture with some vellum, papers and some of the exclusive printables (included in this month's Sapphire kit).  The title is one of the die-cuts from the Pinkfresh studio ephemera pack.

I chose simplicity for this page, and love the ending result.    In case you are interested in obtaining this kit from Clique Kits, please follow this link, and use NATHALIE10 at checkout, so you can get a discount.

As always let me know if you have any questions about how the layout came together.

Til next time,

Keep crafting!

Shine

Scrapbook Layout  -  SHINE -

Hello everyone!

I hope you enjoyed a well rested weekend.
Today, I will like to share with you all a new project i have created using Clique Kits' Sapphire Kit.   If you haven't seen the kit yet (you can click on the link above),  it features Pinkfresh Studio's Indigo Hills collection (one of my favorite collections ever).   Once I seen the colors of the papers, I knew that the picture of my babies would be perfect on this layout.   Here is a quick video on how this layout came together:

I started this layout by using  Clique Kits  Hearts cut file. created for World Card Making day -here is the link to the cut file- .   I backed the cut out with papers from the Indigo Hills collection, and white vellum.  I also added some acrylic paint to the background (white heavy body paint mixed with Acrylic ink), so that the cut-out will be highlighted.

I added my picture surrounded by simple clusters  made up of Clique Kits exclusive printables and flair, as well as die cut pieces, and wood paper clip from the Indigo Hills collection.

The title of this project was created with the Clique Kits's February 2015 cut file.   Since, i wanted to keep the project in the same paper scheme, I made sure to cut the word shine in navy card stock;  using the Silhouette Studio, I created an offset to the word, and cut the shape on white card stock.   Once the images were glued together, I attached them to the project with some foam adhesive.

This project came together rather easily.  The papers included in Clique Kits' Sapphire kit are so easy to combine that takes no time to create a new layout.  Here is a look at the final layout:

If you want more details on what is included on the kit, just follow this link, and don't forget to use the code NATHALIE10 at checkout to get a 10% discount at checkout.

I hope this gives a little inspiration to start the week.... As always let me know if you have any questions about how this layout came together,

Thanks for visiting today.

Take care!

Just Be Yourself!

Scrapbook layout created for Scrapbook Nerd on-line crop  - Just Be Yourself -

a close up to the layout

Hello everyone,

I hope you all enjoying the season.

During this weekend, Scrapbook Nerd is holding an on-line crop,  "Happy Fall Y'All" -you can find all the details in the Scrapbook Nerd forum, or their Facebook page.   One of my challenges for this weekend, is to create a project using fall colors.

a lot of orange flowers on a muted orange/pink cut-out.

For this layout, I started by using The Cut Shoppe's "Open Your Heart" cut file to create the cut-oust that serves as background on the layout.   All the papers come from Kaisercraft's Boho Dreams collection. I backed some of the empty spaces, and fussy cut the papers to  get the beautiful orange roses.

I tried to stay within the color scheme of the challenge, so I added most of the embelishments in the same palette.

a close up

The pictures of my daughter and one of her friends were sized to fit  a large size tag.   I  used a few more stickers just to complete a visual triangle.   Here is the final layout:

I hope you will join us at Scrapbook Nerd for all this weekend's crop.  There is always prizes given away!

As always let me know if you have any questions about the layout.
