LOVE YOU - Simple Stories

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today with a new layout that is all about documenting LOVE.  With Valentine's Day approaching, i wanted to share with you a fun idea to create a page about your loved one using the beautiful MY VALENTINE collection from Simple Stories.

I love the Sn@p Basic paper packs as they are the perfect background for your pages.  This time, i chose the Lace dots as the background, and cut a large strip of the Love You paper to serve as the anchor of the page.

Before gluing the paper to the page, i pulled papers from the 6x8 paper pad and the 12x12 collection to create layers behind the picture.  I  added a bit of paint to some of the edges of the paper to continue the look of the Love You paper strip.

I made sure to distress the edges of all the papers i used, and glued them together to the center of the page.  I backed the picture with one of the Chipboard frames, so that it peeks behind it and  glued it on to the paper strip.

With so many cute embellishments -including all the flower die cuts- i just started layering them between the paper strips so that they formed a diagonal line on the page, and cluster at the corners of the picture

I combined the Chipboard stickers and Stickers to create the large title of the page, then layered a few more embellishments beneath the stickers. I added  my lines of journal at the bottom of the paper layers and then added a few splatters of black ink to complete the page.

This was so easy to put together, and i just love how it turned out ( in a small amount of time!).  The new MY VALENTINE collection is just perfect to document your loved one.  Remember to check it out.

MONOTONE LIFE CRAFTED LAYOUTS - Citrus Twist Kits

Hello everyone!
Nathalie with you today with a few ideas on how to use the color tones of your Life Crafted Fierce and Fabulous kit.   I am sure kits are arriving at your doorsteps, and  you are looking for ideas on what to create with the beautiful goodies, well consider color families for your next layout.

One of my favorite things about the kits is the rainbow of possibilities, but i felt like focusing on a single family of colors for each of these pages, let me show you:

WARM TONES

The starting point for this page was the Life Crafted PL card (in the top pocket).  One of my goals this year is to #existinphotos, which means getting pictures of me documented ( not a fan of this!).  The sentiment of the card was perfect for the layout, and since the picture is pretty neutral, i decided use the warm tones of the card to complete the page.

I used one of the  Bonus 3x4 PL Cards to add my lines of journal, and then added the date with the Typewriter Month & Number stamp  ( this bring some of the black of the picture on to this side of the layout)

To add to the sentiment and feel of the story,  i used the This is Life: Fierce stamp set and Tattered Rose Distress oxides to create the frames out of the warm tone patterned papers of the kit.  I fussy cut them out and layered them on the book print paper from the kit.

I added a few embellishments from the Life Crafted kit and added also pieces from the cut apart sheet that matched the colors of the frames.  To finish the page, i added pops of black to the layout -puffy stickers, labels and stamped images-.  Love how this turned out, but now let me show you a new idea using another color family.

COOL TONES

I started with two of the patterned papers that had mint/green tones in them.   I cut striped one to fit the width of the page, and then used the left over strip at the edge of the other half of the page.

I started with the title for this page this time  -though the ephemera has a bit of pink in it- as it has gold glitter on it, so i wanted to make that detail that repeats through the page.   I used the Digital PL Cards to add my lines of journal on the computer and printed so that it fit at almost 5" in height.

I glued this to the inside of the striped paper strip, and layered ephemera and labels to complete the title at the bottom of the page.   I chose to bring  a small cluster of ephemera to the top corner of the page.  I used one of the fabric pieces and then fussy cut the stamped you sentiment -created using the This is Life: Fierce stamp).

I backed the picture with a piece of gold glitter polka dot piece of acetate -from my stash- and then layered pieces from the cut apart elements and ephemera  to create the clusters around the picture.   I repeated the gold pops and circular stamped elements to tie the two sides of the layout together.

I really love how this turned out!  and it all was possible using only the Life Crafted kit, stamps and a few of the digital files.    Hopefully, this inspires you to take a chance with a color tone layout for your Life Crafted album.  Remember to share with us what you create, i would love to see how you use this concept.

ALTENEW BUILD-A-FLOWER: TRIUMPH TULIP RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY

Hi there!
Welcome to the ALTENEW BUILD-A-FLOWER: TRIUMPH TULIP Release Blog Hop + Giveaway.  You are arriving from Ashlea's blog ( a complete list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post).

Today Altenew is releasing their new BAF: THRIUMP TULIP, and i could not be more excited about this flower, as it is a favorite of my sisters, and super easy to create with the stamp set.  As always I had to put it to use on a new layout, and just love the results.

Each stamp from Altenew comes with a trifold pamphlet that provides inspiration.  I loved the colors of the flowers here, so i decided to combine the Lapis Lazuli, Green Fields,  and Sugar Plums Ink sets to create the flowers for this page.

I chose to stamp a few of the flowers using all the BAF steps, but also stamped a few without the solid image background.  This creates a softer look for the page, and creates a more defined flower.

Once i had all the flowers ready, creating the layout was easy.  I started with a paper from the Our Family Scrapbook collection for the background, and layered white cardstock for the base. I decided to create two clusters of flowers coming into the page at different angles, and used the Artist Markers (set D) to hand draw the stems instead of stamping them.  A bit of foam adhesive helps adding dimension to the page.

Just a few details left were adding the title using the Across the Pond stamp set and a few sentiments from the Tabbed stamp set.   The following video will show you how it all came together:

I cannot rave enough about this beautiful stamp set, and i hope you are inspired to check the release.
