My Personal Journal - Week 3

Hey there!

Hope you all had a great weekend!   We are gearing towards the end of January already.   Suddenly everything is becoming pink and red, indications that February (and Valentine's Day) is around the corner.    Luckily, I am still on track with my daily journal, and here are this week's entries

I am using all my PL kits from Citrus Twist Kits and Studio Calico to complete the entries.   In addition, I am using all my CTK stamps along with Pinkfresh Studio and Studio Calico.

This week, I couldn't limit my days to a single picture, so I decided to create inserts and tip ins to    complete some of the entries on my TN

I hope you are also capturing and documenting your days, and still keeping my fingers crossed, that i keep up with my daily entries.

Till next time,

Nathalie

My Week in Pictures #16

My favorite picture of the week.

Hello everyone!

The last week of April is starting...  Time seriously is flying!  Here in Toronto, finally Spring is in full bloom, and the weather is cooperating with us.  As usual i have been busy running many errands and working on some projects for ScrapbookNerd.com, and coming to the blog soon.  However I have made time to capture a little snap of my every day.  So  here are my favorites of  the week.

As the weather is improving, my daily doggie walks are also getting longer.   My baby loves the walk, but he is more interested in finding sticks and trying to be friendly with all the strangers we find in the river path.

This is my view during the walks.

Part of longer walks is coming upon little brooks that feed the Humber river.  I love seeing how the leafs float by.  The top picture is my favorite, the sun caught the leaf, creating a cool effect. Here is another one of the shots.

Love the look of the dead leaves under the clear water.

And to close up my week, Soccer!  Yes, our weekends are full of soccer; and when you spent at least 5 days of the week with the same people, you tend to adopt them as part of your extended family.  Here is a picture of Vuc -one of the younger soccer siblings- watching the big boys play to win...

We always have gone as a family to all of our son's games;   my daughter is lucky to have a good friend to spend time with while the boys do their stuff.  These two have been  together since they were 7 and 6, and used to smile for the camera then.   Now they hide their faces when they see my lens come around...

my daughter is the one hiding from my  lens.

I hope that you have a great weekend, and take time to pick up your camera and take snapshots of your blessed life.

See you soon!

My Week in pictures #15

It has been"magenta" week on my Capture Your 365 photo-a-day challenge..

Hello everyone!

it has been a rather super busy week and weekend in my household.  There has been renovations, appointments, shopping, games, and family visits all in a week.  Through it all, I always carried my camera with me -to the dismay of my kids-, so that i can capture a glimpse of the moment that rapidly gets written in our memories.  Take a look at the highlights of my week.

As always, i had to photograph food in some way this week.  A simple onion serve as my muse for the layer prompt of my photo-a-day challenge.  It takes a second to elevate the ordinary into extraordinary.

My kids are growing into teenagers, and slowly we are becoming less of a parent and more of a friend at times.  My Gabi now is able to express her desires, needs and wants;  so shopping is a way to bond and spar at the same time.  Here she is showing her latest purchase.

As always my little ones (niece, nephew and fur baby) provide plenty of opportunities to capture the moment. I enjoy capturing and later documenting the pictures .  Here is the littlest member of our family with his cousin. They love each other.

As soon as my nephew arrives, my baby follows him everywhere

One of the reasons for my sister's visit was to take my niece to the photo studio for Communion portraits. I sneak my camera to capture some of the poses, but the candid pictures at home were so much nicer and natural.

She looks beautiful and peaceful in this pose

Sadly we had to leave my mom with the visits as my son is wrapping up his indoors soccer season, and we have been at back to back games the entire weekend.  It is amazing to see his development through my lens..

Josh playing soccer at Wild Water Kingdom

What better way to close the week than with a beautiful sunset.  Though there are no beaches or landscape,  there are perks on being in the road (coming home from a soccer game) while the sun is setting in the city.

I hope you are also taking the time to enjoy the little moments life has to offer.  Sometimes the snapshot of your life seems insignificant, but with time it becomes a  cherished memory.

Enjoy your week.

See you soon...

My week in pictures #14

My entry for PRECIOUS on my Capture your 365 Photo-a-Day challenge.
He is my most precious gift...

Hello everyone,

It has been a busy week in my household.  God has been good -as always- and we all have been blessed with a peaceful and cherished week...  As always -and not just because I follow a Photo-a-Day challenge-,  there are a lot of pictures  that I could share with you.  Here is my week through my lens.

We love bread in this house,  each one has a particular type that they prefer.   I enjoy this loaf, it is an artisan ancient multigrain whole wheat variety.  It served as my muse for one of the challenge prompts this week..

Since the weather has been varying a lot this week, it has gone from cold and snowy to rainy and windy.  That has stopped us from venturing out.  So i have been having fun capturing my family at its most natural state.  Here is my daughter peeking on my husbands iPad searches...

Weekends are always busy for us, but i always try to make a little space in my agenda to breathe, and catch what is going on.  Here is my son and the baby while the rest of the family is not around ...

He actually smiled for me -no bribery needed-

Since my niece turned 8 this week, we gathered to enjoy some time together.  I always take this opportunities to snap a few pictures (180 to be exact),  these two are some of my favorites.

My sister and niece

Always have to photograph the birthday girl...  I took so many pictures, but i love this one so much, it is getting a scrapbook layout -coming soon-

My little niece

Finally, since Toronto still is getting snow -in the middle of April- we are spending a lot of time indoors.  I kill my time by  crafting especially scrapbooking.  My choice is always to put on some Netflix on tv, and start a hand embroidery marathon on one of my scrapbook paper layouts...

The magenta pops beautifully on this black and white background...

I hope you take the time to pick up your camera and capture your everyday, better yet check a photo-a-day challenge for some help on finding beauty on your everyday.

See you soon...

My Week in Pictures #13

My baby and I,  he is my third child...

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are having a great Monday on your corner of the world.  Here in Toronto spring has yet to arrive,   it seems winter does not want to leave.  We are under a severe cold alert and have at least 5-10 cm of snow on the ground...

As usual, i have used the weather to my advantage when it came to capturing my life, here are some of the highlights.

We thought that glorious days like this (on Wednesday) were ahead.  Finally everything was budding, and long walks around the park were welcomed... Now everything is covered in snow once again.

My baby loves to walk along the river path behind our apartment building;  his thrill is finding little sticks he can play with and mess the carpet with.   Here he is showing off his latest find.

As always since i stay at home, most of my pictures revolve around my kids, but especially my little Poochie...  He is one of my muses, but lately he has been starting to lose power on his back legs, so we need to find incentives to have him walk and build some muscle.  I try to encourage him by bribing him with treats.

he loves these mini cookies

My son has been a soccer player since he was 6 years old.  Now at 15, he is still playing all year round, but life is starting to blossom for him, and slowly soccer is going to the backburner.  I am glad, I have carried my camera to every single one of his games, and have traveled with his teams.  So what better way to capture this chapter of his life than taking  a snapshot.

He is so tall now...

The weekend is the best time to capture  my entire family together.  This weekend because of the snowfall, we were indoors most of the time, so a lot of crafting happened.   I am so glad that my daughter is slowly learning to document her life, and is always finding her style.

Finally, i have to show you what i see some mornings from my balcony.   I am amazed at the beauty God has created and we don't appreciate...

I hope you are also picking up your camera, and capturing the little things of life...

See you soon

My Week in Pictures # 12

My littlest one, always ready to pose for my lens...

Hello everyone,

I hope you all took the time to reflect on Christ's Resurrection on this Easter weekend.   I am a firm believer that our God-given lives are just the beginning of the true reward that is awaiting for us when our Saviour comes again. It is because of Christ that we have these blessed lives full of love and peace, and the best way to celebrate it is by capturing it, and sharing it.

Since holidays mean family, there are over 500 pictures to chose from this week, here are some of my favorites:

My nephew is never still, he just turned 3, and never stops.  He doesn't like to smile for the camera, so I have to catch him with my lens  in burst mode.  This is one of my personal favorites, as he looks so beautiful looking up at my mom.

My niece loves to pose for the camera, but i like to catch her when she is not expecting it.  Here she is playing with her toys on the dining room table.  The window light reflects her innocence so perfectly...

My sister is such a loving person, and she always demonstrates it with smiles and warm hugs.  She also loves to smile for the camera, and is always ready to pose for me -trust me I have lots of beautiful shots of her-.  I love catching glimpses of her motherhood...

She is trying to put my nephew to nap...

As always my kids are my best models, even when they are going through the no-smiling for the camera stage.  At the end,  they can always  be bribed, or i just shoot hoping for a great shot.

It is amazing to see my daughter bloom into a beautiful young woman in front of my eyes.  She is my little girl always...

My son is rapidly becoming a man.  I am glad that even when he turns his head at the sight of the camera, I take the shots anyways.  He will thank me later in life...

Finally the weather is changing here... so for Easter we went on a long walk around our neighborhood (we are lucky to live next to a river path).  Here is one of the perks of having a beautiful day, scenery and a great family...

Crossing the Humber River...

Finally,  I was glad my people stopped to pose for me.  I used the bridge as a background for their beautiful faces...

I love this three, and the fur baby who wanted to come home to play with his new found stick...

I hope that you are taking the time to capture your everyday...

See you soon..

My Week in Pictures #9

This is the purpose of  loving photography, my family...
Our Family Picture wall

Hello everyone,

It is March already!,  time is really flying this year.  Soon spring will be here, and another nature cycle will start.  I am making sure to try my best at capturing my every-day through photography so i can later document it, either through scrapbook or Project Life.

This week, I have been rather busy working on different exciting projects (details will come very soon), and the weather has been horrible in Toronto, so my number of pictures barely got to 100.

This is a picture of my wedding bands.  I had taking them off to bathe my fur baby, and decided to photograph them.
It was nice to go back and look at the original pictures of my
engagement and wedding, and compare it to this one..

One of the topics on the Capture Your 365 challenge was purpose, so I photographed my planner.
That little book holds my week
in pictures, appointments, stories, etc. I think i will make a post on my planner updates this week...

My 3 babies (actually 2 teens and dog) are always the focus of my photography, so whenever i find them together or under perfect light, i make sure to snap a few shots...

My two youngest catching some sleep on the couch.

Here is my baby catching some sun, in one of his little corners.  He doesn't care whether he could be electrocuted, as long as he soaks up the sun...

He sits there until the sun disappears...

Finally,  it is important to take glimpses of the ordinary, mundane... you will be surprised  what it actually looks like...

A simple game of fetch, as seen by my lens...

I hope that you pick up your camera and take a few shots of your day.   Trust me, it is very rewarding at the end...  See you soon!
