PINKFRESH STUDIO MONTHLY CHALLENGE

Hi there!

It is the first Sunday of the month, time for a new Challenge from Pinkfresh Studio, and this time is all about RAINBOWS...

If you know me, then you are familiar with my Black and white with a hint of rainbow approach to my work.

I started with a bit of watercolor work for my background.   For this, i used Pinkfresh Studio's Liquid watercolor  in  a rainbow palette and watercolor paper. My idea was to form a soft diagonal rainbow line for my page.

While the background fully dried, i cut the new Floral Corner Swag cut file from white cardstock and used papers from the Celebrate collection and Let's Stay Home collection to back the cut out using the colors of the background as a reference for the flowers.

I used a bit of dimensional adhesive to attach the flora diecuts to the page following the color  formation.  I placed the picture at the center of the page, and surround it with more of the floral die cuts.

I made sure to embellish the page following the position of the colors. For this, i pulled stickers from My Favorite Story collection, Noteworthy collection and Let's Stay Home collection.   For my title, i used alphas from the Let's Stay Home collection and attached them on its corresponding color position.

To finish the page, i added my lines of journal, enamel dots from all the collections, and then stamped sentiments -Celebrate Today stamp set and Pinkfresh Studio inks-  around the cluster flowers.  Just love  how this turned out.

Remember you can join in the Challenge by creating a project that fits the Rainbow theme and linking it to the Pinkfresh Studio blog. A winner is selected each month, the prize: a $50 gift certificate to the PFS shop!

cannot wait to see what you create!

HAPPY TOGETHER - Pinkfresh Studio Monthly Challenge

Hi there!
I am so happy to have been invited back for a new term with Pinkfresh Studio -it was a check on my crafty bucket list, and i am so blessed to make it a double one-.   To start the year, we are reviewing the past years challenges and welcoming all to play along with us.

For my page, i chose the September 2019 challenge -Mixed Media and Watercolors- for my layout.    The color palette of the challenge was taken from the Just A Little Lovely collection, and it was perfect for what i had in mind.

I started with a gesso piece of double cardstock to which i added splashes of Pinkfresh Liquid Watercolor to match the colors in the Just A Little Lovely collection ( Purple, pink/coral,and light blue).

While the background dried, i heat embossed -white embossing powder- a few images created using the  Floral Cluster Stamp set.  Once cut with the coordinating die, i used the liquid watercolors to detail each of the flowers in the image using colors that match the  paper collection.

I backed the picture of my family with a paper from the Office Hours collection so that it matched the soft coral tone of the collection.  I used the Rainbow with Splatters Washi Tape to create watercolor alike panels on cardstock, and used the Essentials: Lacey Edgers die set to cut a few of the panels into detailed strips. These were pieced together to repeat the colors of the background and then layered under the picture in two rows.

To build the layout, i added the watercolor images to the side of the picture and bulked up the clusters using fussy cut flowers -Just  A Little Lovely collection papers- and some acetate die cuts.  Just a few extra embellishments were added to each of the clusters.  All that was left was to add a title -created with  a combination of Alphas from the Just a Little Lovely and Home for the Holidays collection- .  I added a small cluster right under the title to help balance the page.

I love how this page turned out!  All the Pinkfresh Studio stamps, papers, dies, washi tape and liquid watercolor are designed to coordinate together, so the design came together so easily and with lovely results.

Remember to stop by the Pinkfresh Studio blog to check all the details of the challenge and join in to have the chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the store.

You can always contact me if you have questions on how this came together.

ALWAYS REMEMBER TODAY - JustNick Studio

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today with a new layout fit for our "word" challenge.  I love large titles, so this theme fits right up my alley, and with so many cut files available in the JustNick Studio store, this was just a dream to put together.

To start this page, i pulled together the Word 3, Love List and Word 2 cut files to create the title of the page, "ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS".   I simply pick a word of each file and weld them together so that they naturally create a space for the picture.

Once the words were welded, they were cut twice from white cardstock and once from a paper from the Pinkfresh Studio's Everyday Musings collection.   The white cut outs were glued together, and then the patterned paper cut out was attached to the white ones with a small offset so that it creates the illusion of dimension.

To add color to the background a bit of liquid watercolor (Pinkfresh Studio) was added so that it covered all the area where the word and picture would sit.  While the background dried, i pulled the new Butterfly cut file to cut a few outlines  and the shapes from white cardstock and patterned paper.

To assemble the page, first the title  was glued to the background, and then using a black fineliner  the outline was traced - this emphasizes the title-.  The butterflies were glued together, and then they were clustered on the layout based on the respective color in the background.

A few stickers and embellishments from the Everyday Musings collection were added around the layout.  A few lines of journal and gold ink splatters completes this page.
I hope this inspires you to check all the word files and other designs in the JustNick shop, the choices are infinite when it comes to mixing and matching designs to create a one-of-a-kind cut out for your project.

JUST DO YOU ALWAYS - Scrapbook Nerd NSD 2019

Hi there!

The NSD celebrations have started, and of course i am joining in the fun.   Scrapbook Nerd is hosting both a physical and on-line crop to celebrate the day.

The crop theme is scrapbooking, and i got to design the Stamping challenge.  So, i set to use stamps and ink to create the background for the page.  For this, I used the new Pinkfresh Studio's Adore Alpha stamp set, and a butterfly stamp from Kaisercraft.

Once the ink had set, i added a bit of liquid watercolor from Pinkfresh Studio and splatters around the background and title ( this was so inspired by Suse Fish), and then it was ready to embellish.

I chose a picture of my daughter and used pieces from Pinkfresh Studio's Joyful Day  and Everyday Musings collection to decorate.   A few stickers from an old Heidi Swapp collection just bring a  few pops of color to the page.

To emphasize the butterfly theme on the background, i added a few cut out butterflies (created using a cut file from Handipaper) as well as small cluster at the bottom of the title.  Here is the completed page:

I hope you join us at the Scrapbook Nerd Friends page on Facebook for some scrapbooking fun!

Remember to check all the materials used in the Scrapbook NErd shop and contact me if you have any questions on how this came together.

Nathalie

Everyday Moment

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  -  EVERYDAY MOMENT  -

Hi there!

It is a rather busy week here in my blog, and there is still so much to show you!  But let's start with this week's inspiration for Scrapbook Nerd.   They just stocked the new Indigo HIlls 2 and the Liquid Watercolor set from Pinkfresh Studio, so, i had to used them both for this project.

First I used a bit of the watercolors  to pick the dark plum and purple tones of the collection onto the background for this page.   I used a gessoed sheet of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock for the base of this page.

While the background dried, I went ahead and used cut files from Just Nick Studio and various papers from the Indigo Hills 2 collectiom.  Then used some foam adhesive to attach it to the background so that it will pop off the page.

The Glen paper from the collection was used to obtain the large floral elements of this page.    These were used as accents around the title and picture.

After adding a few stickers and layers behind the picture.  I chose to add my lines of journal in a small journaling spot and then use a small glasine bag to house it. This was attached in between the paper layers behind the picture.  Here is final layout:

I love the color, the flowers, the picture of my daughter and nephew together.   Stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in this page.  And remember you can always contact me if you have questions on how this came together.

Fall Love

Scrapbook Layout created for Just Nick Studio  -  FALL LOVE  -

Hello everyone!
Happy Fall everyone!  Nathalie with you today with a new layout for Fall week.  Can you tell I love Fall?!  I am so excited to pull out my sweaters, drink all the PSL i  can find, but mostly to go out and enjoy all the colorful nature.   So, i poured some of my love of the season into this new layout that uses a few of the Just Nick Studio cut files and a bit of mixed media.

To start this page, i used the Grateful cut fileFall Florals cut file, and the Leaf It to Me cut file, to cut the various leaves you see from white cardstock.

To cut the solid maple leaves for this page, i used only the outline of the Leaf it To Me cut  file ( I released the path of the image on my Silhouette software, and then just highlighted the outline to be cut).

Once all the leaves were cut out, i pulled my Pinkfresh liquid watercolors to add a very saturated amount to all of them, and set them aside to dry completely; this helped to create the natural curvature in the leaves.

While the leaves dried, I used some of the watercolors to create my background, and then trimmed the cardstock and glued it to a paper from Pinkfresh Studio.

Once all the leaves were dried, i used a white and black fine gel liners to detail the vines in the leaves, and then used foam adhesive to attach them to the background.    Just a few embellishments were needed to complete this page after all those colorful leaves.

I love how this turned out!, and all it took was a sheet of white cardstock, some of the beautiful Just Nick Studio and some watercolors.
Remember to stop by the JustNick Studio store to check all the cut files used in this page and the new designs being added each week.  As always you can contact me if you have questions on how this was put together.
