Winter Baby

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd   - WINTER BABY -

Hi there!

Hope you are all doing well.  It is theme week over at Scrapbook Nerd, and this month all our creations are inspired by this mood board created by Joy:

All the colour and textures made me think of snow and winter, so I pulled a picture of my nephew, Echo Park's A Perfect Winter collection , and a Paige Evans' cut file Design ID #233761 ( I know it says faux flower in the design, but i see stars/snowflakes) to create this page.

I started by backing the cut file on a piece of paper from one of the Simple Stories pads, and then started lightly folding some of the edges of the cut file as to form stars.   My choice was to somehow recreate a snowfall on the picture.

I used some of the papers from the collection to back the picture, and then layered embellishments in clusters at the corners of the picture.

To complete the visual triangle in the page, a small cluster was added to the top of the corner of the page, and used the space below to add the journal lines.

For the title, I pulled some of  the chipboard stickers, and added some alphas from  Fancy Pant's Millie and June collection.   A few extra snowflakes, and some gold ink complete the page:

I love the whiteness and texture of  the page.   Remember to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the materials used in this post, and also join us for this month's challenge on the Scrapbook Nerd Friends Facebook page _ it is based on this mood board, and the winner will take a GC to the store_

Let me know if you have any questions, I am always around to answer them!

Take care!

Love Life

Image may contain: text

Hi there!

For the past few weeks, some of the members at Scrapbook Nerds Friends and Fans Facebook page have been playing Layout Tag!  Today was the time for the reveal, and it always amazes mes how much a page changes based on each artist.  But let me show you what was my starting point/inspiration:

This page was inspired by a Gail Linder original piece from Bella Blvd, and Barb put her twist on it, here is how i interpreted this page:

This is one of my favorite pages from last year!!!  i pretty much followed the original, but replaced the background paper strips with mixed media to match the colors of Pinkfresh Studio's Escape the Ordinary collection.

I used one of Dear Lizzy's large word paintable words as a title, and used gold to pop it from the page.

The rest pretty much stayed as in the provided layout!  Isn't it amazing how things can change from artist to artist.

You can see all the pages created by clicking this link.

It is shaping up to be a colorful year!  Stay tuned for more news!!!

Materials used:

Dear Lizzy  - Star Gazer collection - Paintable chipboard words

Nathalie's Friday Share for Scrapbook Nerd

Hello there,

As the Scrapbook Nerd blog is under maintenance at the moment, this week's share will be coming from my personal blog.

This month i was inspired to do all things girly, and used materials that evoke that sentiment.  Here is a review of the projects:

1.   SISTERS -  created using Cute Girl collection to document a picture of my sister and I from about 35 years ago.

2.  THE WONDER OF IT ALL - Silhouette Savvy Series tutorial on stand-out Stitched titles ,  created using Dear Lizzy's Saturday collection

3.  ALWAYS BELIEVE SOMETHING WONDERFUL IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN!
-  created using Simple Stories's Reset Girl collection, and documents my daughter's teenage years.

4.   CUTE -  a page created to document my little niece using Crate Paper's Cute Girl collection and some mixed media.

5.   WELCOME FALL  -  layout created for the Leaves Are Falling challenge for Scrapbook Nerd's Happy Fall Y'All on-line crop.

6.  JUST BE YOURSELF!  - this page was created for the Changing Colors challenge at Scrapbook Nerd's Happy Fall Y'All on-line crop

I really hope you draw some inspiration from this pages.

Don't forget to join us this weekend for the Happy Fall Y'All on-line crop at Scrapbook Nerd's forum and Facebook Page.
