You

Scrapbook Layout created for Vicki Boutin DT  - YOU -

Hi there!

Have you looked at Vicki's August prompt list for the Junque Journal Summer Challenge?!!  Well, for the last month of the challenge, Vicki has changed the format so that now you can mix the prompts of the week, and make them your own.

My choice this for week 1 was to combine all the prompts into a layout, so i started with gesso foundation paper, and added a bit of art crayon to the background using the stencil brush.

Next, I pulled some bubble wrap, and used warm tones of art crayon (closest shade to rose gold glaze) to create a few impressions on the background.  I simplu scribbled some of the art crayon on the bubble wrap, addes some water, and used the plastic as a stamp.

While the background dried, i created the title for this page from a SIlhouette cut file.  Here, I used some diluted rose gold glaze to cover the entire title (just like a color wash).  Once dried, I used a bit more of rose gold and a stencil brush to create a flower impression (flower stencil) on the title.

In between drying times, I went ahead and created flowers for embellishments using Vicki's flower stamp and die set.  I made a few of white foundation paper, and a few on patterned paper.  I made sure to create the impression with Archival ink, so that it wouldn't run when the diluted art crayon was added to them.

To assemble the layout, I backed and layered papers behind the picture.  I made sure to pick papers from the 12x12 paper pad that matched the colors on the layout.   Then used a pair of kraft tags (from my stash) as the last layer behind the picture.

To make the title stand out, I used thicker/higher foam adhesive and propped it on the page.  I added a few stamped images of the leaves/branch on the flower stamp set using rose gold ink around the corners of the picture and title, and proceeded to add flowers in clusters.

To finish the page, a few cardstock stickers and watercolor stickers were added to the clusters so that they bring a more sentiment and interest to each cluster.  A few lines of journal, and some droplets of diluted rose gold glaze complete this page.

I love how this page turned out, even when the color blocking was a bit hard to interprete.  The following video will give you a more in-depth look at how this was created:

I hope this inspires you to play with the August Junque Journal prompts.   As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions on how this came together.
