Hello Today

Scrapbook layout created for Simple Stories  - HELLO TODAY-

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to bring you a bit of Springtime inspiration to your corner of the world, and what better collection to document the season than the new Simple Stories "WELCOME SPRING".

This simple set collection is packed with soft but vibrant colors and some of the most beautiful floral designs.  It is no secret I love florals, and as soon as I saw the ones in the Hello Spring paper, I knew i had to fussy cut them to scattered them on the layout.

I wanted to bring all the designs of the papers into one page, so I chose to create a large title using one of JustNick Studio's cut file.  Each letter was backed with papers from the collection, and a bit of foam adhesive which adds dimension to the title.

The stickers that come included in the collection are just the perfect complement to the title work of this page.  Gotta love all the phrases and cute designs.

To bring all the colors of the florals and papers, a bit of black art crayon -from Vicki Boutin- was added to the background.

Once the title was in place, the picture of my daughter and nephew on one of our Spring walks was tucked under the title, and all the fussy cut designs were used to frame the picture and title.

All the colors and designs of the Welcome Spring collection just shine in this page, but still don't overtake the picture of my family.   I just love how this layout turned out.

Well it is time to enjoy the season (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere), and the new Simple Stories' "Welcome Spring" is ideal to document the arrival of all things new!
Have a great Spring !

XO

Sister Love

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - SISTER LOVE -

Hi there!

It is the beginning of the month, which means a new cut file release at Scrapbook Nerd!!!

The new cut file -designed by the Cut Shoppe-  comes perfect for the Spring season, so I took advantage of the design to create a cascade of flowers in my page.

The flowers were cut to measurea at the largest 2.5 in.    Once all the flowers were sized,  they were all cut from white cardstock.

All the flowers were backed with papers from the Pick Me Up collection.  However the center of the flowers were the only ones glued, so that there is some movement on the flowers.

All the leaves were backed with papers from the Pick Me Up and Turn the Page collection, making sure to chose just green colors for them.  The entire cut outs were glued to the paper this time.

Before gluing anything to the page, a bit of mixed media was added to the background.  A bit of white acrylic paint and Jane Davenport's Mermaid markers add a soft colorful bakground for the page.

The picture was propped on some fun foam, and set on the page.   Then all the flowers and leaves were glued using some foam adhesive.  They were attached so that they surround the picture (in a half moon shape).

To create the title for this page, a combination of stickers from the collection were used.  Then the page was completed with a few embellishments from the colleciton.   Cardstock stickers, sequin, ephemera, and stickers complete the page.

Just love the large cluster of flowers in the page.   This page is the perfect way to celebrate my sister, and our relationship.   Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to pick up a free copy of the cut file.   I will be around if you have questions on how this came together.

Take care!

Summer Time Love

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - SUMMER TIME LOVE -

Hi there!

hope you all had a great Easter weekend.   It is April already, which means the new Savannah kit from Citrus Twist Kits has been revealed, and now you can see its complete beauty.  It is colorful, vibrant, and GORGEOUS

Today, I am up on the Citrus Twist Kits blog along Emma sharing pages created inspired on the kits's ephemera.  My choice was to start with a bit of an inky background to recreate water.

Then welded a few fonts together on the Silhouette platform to create the title/background of the page.   Each letter - but the "O"- was backed with papers from the Savannah kit and some foam adhesive.  The picture was glued directly to the O cut out.

Clusters of ephemera were then created around the letters of the title as to create a visual triangle.  All those mercats were the inspiration for this page about my niece and daughter's love for the pool!

To complete the title of the layout,  the new Paige Evans small alphas were used to create the words Summer Time on the side of the letter 'L".  Then a few more details were added to the page such as fussy cut shells, stars and fish, as well as enamel dots and soem stickers.

The page was trimmed at the bottom, and a bit of distressing added which produced a space to add another small cluster of ephemera thus completing the page:

Just love the final look of the page.   Stop by Citrus Twist Kits to check all the new kits, and Emma's take on the challenge.  As always I am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

Take care!
