Wild & Free

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd   - WILD & FREE  -

Happy New Year to you all!

Today, I am sharing a new layout created for Scrapbook Nerd.  Since it is so cold here in Toronto, I dug a summer picture of my littles, and the beautiful 1Canoe2 Creekside collection to create this layout.

It all started by enlarging this picture to letter size, and then  attached it to one of the papers from the collection.   I used the washi tapes as a layer under the papers and pictures, as i added more  papers and cardstock behind the picture, in order to complete the 12x12 format.

Next I started to embellish the layout by using the stars in the rub ons, and  roller stamp to create the visual traingle in the page.   Then just played with the stickers and the ephemera to form a small cluster at the bottom corner and under the picture of my littles.

For the title of this page, I pulled some of the stickers of the collection and   added them to the top corner of the page.

To keep the focus on the picture, I created  a small pocket where i hid the journal in a small tab.   I really like how this turned out.  Here is the completed layout:

I hope this inspires you to use a large picture in one of your projects.  Remember to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the products used here.

Let me know if you have questions on how this came together!

Take care!

Hi There!

Today, I am up on the Wild Whisper blog with this new layout using the Sweater Weather collection.

I love how this page came together even when it took a few changes along the way!  Just sit and take a look at how the design changed after a failed attempt at embossing.  Enjoy:

As you can see sometimes you have to make the best out of a project by changing direction, and in this case it actually worked for the best.

Don't forget to visit Wild Whisper to see all the close ups and the materials used in the layout.

take care!

Sweet Girls

Scrapbook Layout created for Just Nick Studio - SWEET GIRLS -

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!

Nathalie with you today, bringing you the first project of 2018  (can you believe it is a New Year already!).

I have had this picture in my scrapbook file for a while waiting for the right cut file, and when i saw the new Magic Carpet Background, the idea popped into my head.

To create this background, I isolated only the full images of the cut file, and then copy them in a tile formation.   Using the Silhouette software,  the image was moved until it matched the angle of the picture, and then set to cut from white cardstock.

Each image was then backed by a different paper from the Paige Evans' "Turn The Page" collection (one of  my fave collections from 2017!).  Using a bone folder, the centers of the motifs were slightly creased as to create the dimension in the background.

Just a few embellishments were needed to complement and frame the picture.   I wanted the picture to balance the background, so I chose to keep it Black and White so that it stands out from the colorful background.

The title of this page was created using the  "Girl Power"  and  "Lower Case Alpha" cut files from papers from the collection.   Each letter and word was cut twice, and glued together, a bit of foam adhesive adds the dimension to the word "sweet".

I hope this serves as inspiration for the start of a new year!  Stop by the Just Nick Studio store to check these and all the cut file designs available.
Remember i am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!
