Fur-ever Friends

Scrapbook Layout - Fur-Ever Friends -

a close up to the layout.

Hello!,

It seems that i have so many projects to publish on my blog, that i am taking a day to add them all in. For today's layout, i chose the Millie & June collection to document a picture of my two babies.   I loved this girly collection, and I am stashing quite a bit of it for later use.

I started this layout by cutting strips of papers of the different collections (I used part of the branding strips of each paper).  I decided to weave the strips, and create a triangle with the weaved strips.  Since, it is such colorful collection, I used the black paper on the collection as the mat for the layout.

I decided to place the picture along the triangle, and add clusters of  ephemera, tags, and stickers of the collection around the it.  To add softness to the picture, I layered pieces of the cut-out from the Flower Power cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

The title was created using a font from the Silhouette store.  I used the sketch pens to draw the words, and used an offset to cut around it.  Using a piercing tool, I created a stitching guide on the sketch words.   Blue thread was used to stitched  the pattern.

To end the project, a few more details were added along the page, and used a white gel pen to add my journal lines to the bottom left corner of the page.  Here is the final layout:

Can I say that i love this page?  It is different that what i usually create, but i like to challenge myself, and long time ago decided to never repeat a design, and try a bit of each of what scrapbook has to offer.  I hope this inspires you to try something different for the a change.

Till next time,

Take care!

Made To Roam

Scrapbook Layout   - Made to Roam -

Hello there!,
I hope you are all enjoying this Labour Day weekend.   My kids, as i am typing this, are prepping their backpacks for the new school year.  As of tomorrow, they will be both high schoolers!!!  -where has time gone-, but  this is a topic for another time.

I have so many summer pictures to document, and in my hopes to reduce my stash, i decided to use Ashley Horton's sketch for Hip Kit club to create a layout about our many road trips.  I am also using this layout to complete a challenge from Scrapbook Nerd's Summer camp.  For this layout,  I used different papers from Pink Paislee's Outfitters collection to create the banners.   I secure them all with a few lines of machine stitching.

After the banner was secured to the page,  i added a picture of me while enjoying one of our roadtrips along with a few stickers. cut-outs and ephemera pieces from the collection.  For the title, I chose to use one of the collection's banners, and secured it to the picture by using a small wood veneer , and some glue.

I added a small cluster of pieces from the collection at the bottom, and secure them all with a few sewing machine stitches.   I used one of the cut apart cards to add my lines of journal on the bottom of the page.  To complete the page, I used some color shine to add some ink splatters around the page.  Here is the completed layout:

I really love the simplicity of the layout, but all the small details that are hidden around the banners.

Now, I am off to clean my house, before my vacation starts tomorrow.

Take care!!

Now & Then

Scrapbook Layout - Now and Then -

A quick look at the layout.

Hello,

I finally found time to upload all these layouts that have been laying on my table (between being sick, babysitting my littles, and dealing with my kids, summer has flown by).   Here is another layout that I created by using the Millie and June collection from Fancy Pants, and a bit of hand-stitching.

The cross-stitched ampersand of the background.

I started by stitching a large cross-stitched ampersand on the background of the layout.  To continue the design, a small edge was trimmed around the layout, and then it was stitched to the criss-cross patterned paper of the collection.

For this layout I chose to document pictures of my sister and I now, and  when we were kids.   I positioned them at each corner of the Ampersand, and added small clusters of ephemera around them.  The title was created using the Alphas of the collection.  I chose to write a small note in one of the tags from the collection, and add it under one of the pictures.  Here is the final layout:

This layout brings a lot of happiness to my soul. It is a reminder of the time that has passed by.

As always, let me know if you have any questions about how this layout came together.

See you all soon>>>
