Gift Wrapping

Project created for Maya Road  - GIFT WRAPPING  -

Hi Roadies!

Nathalie with you today to bring you an idea of how to re-purpose the leftover Valentine's Day paper into a soft gift wrapping idea using a few Maya Road products.

I am sure some of you have a few pieces of paper left from your Valentine's Day craft session.  Fortunately one of my younger sister's birthday is on the 20th so it makes it easier to create the gift wrapping.

To create the wrapping, the Flower Die Set was used to obtain the flowers, its centers and a bit of paper sequin from Crate Paper's Main Squeeze collection.   A bit of foam adhesive creates a bit of dimension on each of the flowers' centers.

After wrapping the present; all the paper sequin die cuts were added to a long piece of Cherry Red Jute and Twine cord that was wrapped around the present.  All the sequin was set so that it only showed in the top part of the present.   A pair of Vintage Crafting Tassels (in Milk White) were tied to the center of the cord.

Next, a bit of foam adhesive secures the flowers to the package, and finally, a small wood token from the Wood Thoughtful Sentiments Token set was added above the tassels.   A few Vintage Pearl Trinket pins complete the packaging.

This idea took no time to put together, and it is the perfect way to jazz up simple present wrapping.  Who would not want to receive a present that looks so beautiful!!  Just imagine what it can contain!?!

Stop by the Maya Road online store to check all the materials used in this project.  Remember I am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

Love With All My Heart

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook  Nerd  - LOVE WITH ALL MY HEART -

Hi there!

It is theme week over at Scrapbook Nerd.  This week's assignment is all about documenting someone you love, or Valentine's Day.   Well that is an easy subject for me, and my choice will always be my Family.  So i decided to document my page (2 more will be done -one for each kid's album) of our latest family portrait.

To create the background, I used some Prima Marketing Pastel Dreams confections to bring a soft watercolor look to the page.

Next, I pulled a Felicity Jane cut file to create the title of the page.   Once cut, it was all backed with papers from Crate Paper's Main Squeeze collection.   Then glued to the page, followed by a small Simple Stories stickers that finish the title of the page.

To frame the picture of our family, I pulled one of my favorite Just Nick studio (Leaf Cluster)  cut file. I cut the file from white cardstock, and backed it with vellum.   It was then added to the bottom of the title.   The picture was then glued above it, and pieces from both Crate Paper collections (Main Squeeze, and Heart Day) were used to create clusters that frame the picture.  A third cluster was then added to the title so that is completes the visual triangle of the page.

A few lines of journal, and gold splatters complete the page.   I love the result of this page!  The soft colors of the background, contrast with the bold title, which brings the softness of the cut out forward, hence bringing the picture forward.

I hope this inspires you to stop ny Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in this page.  Sometimes it pays to keep somre previous collections to combine with more recent ones.

Remember, I am a comment away if you have any questions on how this page came together.

Take care!

So Sweet

Scrapbook Layout created for JustNick Studio  - SO SWEET -

Hi there!
Nathalie with you bringing you a new layout that showcases a sweet selfie of  my littlest cousins using a few of the beautiful JustNick cut files.

It is no secret, I love to stitch on my pages.  So, a few weeks ago, I found the Cross My Heart Background cut file in my folder, and had the idea to use it as a stitching pattern for a background of one of my layouts.   By simply sizing the cut file to fit into a letter size page, i was able to print it, and then use it to create the holes for the  cross stitched background hearts.

I  had in mind using Crate Paper's Valentine's collection for this page, so i used embroidery floss to match the colors in the collection.  Now the picture for this page was a complete gift from my family in Ecuador.   The little ones (my littlest cousins) decided to play with one of the phones, and took a selfie of them in a tender moment, and I was one of the lucky recepients of this text!

I kept the picture simple by just layering a few frames from the  Infinity Hearts cut file, so that it loooks like there are hearts floating around them.   A few of the embellishments from the collection were added to frame the picture and create the title of this page.

I love the final look of this page, the soft and textured background is perfect for the sweet selfie  of the little ones.   Remember to stop by the JustNick Studio store to check this and the many cut files available.   You can always contact me if you have any questions on how this came together.

Take care!
