HELLO HAPPY LITTLE ONE - Doodlebug Design -

Spring is here and it brings all things colorful and fresh back into the world. So, why not bring out the fun and beautiful OVER THE RAINBOW collection to create a new layout.

A rainbow is always a great thing, and I have been playing with the idea of transforming the shape of the rainbow for this page.  The inspiration all came from the Over The Rainbow paper stripes.

I started by separating the paper strips and attaching two of them together, so they form a long color stripe.  Here is where the tricky part starts, as I had to play with the paper positioning and then start folding strips to create the effect on the white cardstock.

Once I framed my cardstock with the Rainbow Wishes paper, then it was all about setting the picture in place.  I backed the picture with one of the 6x6 pad papers, then set it to the right of the rainbow.  I used some of the Odds & Ends, stickers and puffy stickers to add a bit more interest around it.

For my title, it was all about taking advantage of the angle of the paper strips.  I used the line at the bottom of the page to bring pieces of Chit Chat, Alphabet Soup Puffy stickers together for my title.

To finish my layout, I am using Sprinkles to emphasize the angle in the paper folds, add texture, and a bit more interest to the page.

I love how it turned out, and I hope it inspires you to use the Over The Rainbow collection to get crafty!

HALLOWEEN SWEET & SPOOKY - Doodlebug Design

It is time to get all those sweet & spooky memories captured and documented!  And what better way to do it than with the fun and colorful HEY PUMPKIN collection.   The colors and designs in the collection are just so cute, it was so easy to bring this layout together.

A grid design is always a great way to get pages created quickly and with amazing results.  My inspiration for the design was the 3x4 cards in the Sabrina's Socks paper.

I trimmed the cards from the paper, and using a craft knife took the center of them, so that leftover piece reminded me of frames.   I backed 3 of them with the white spiderweb paper from the 6x6 paper pad, and set them on a piece of light gray cardstock.

I used the fourth card/frame to house my photo, and set it in the top right corner of my grid.  I love the florals in the Odds+Ends pack , and used them to embellish my frames.  I am also using stickers from Icon sticker sheet to bring more embellishments to two of the frames, while leaving the last one empty for the journaling.

I decided to mix pieces from the Chit Chat pack to create my title at the bottom of the grid.   I then went around the grid adding Sprinkles and a few extra puffy black spiders to tie all the frames together.

To finish my page, I created two borders from the Peek-A-Boo paper, set them to the side of the cardstock, then glued it all to the Hey Pumpkin paper.  I love how it all turned out!  Be sure to check the HEY PUMPKIN collection.

BUNNY SMILES

It has been  a long winter season, and  I am so looking forward to a change of weather and Easter.   So, when the new BUNNY HOP collection arrived, I quickly pulled the perfect pictures to document with this beautiful collection.

How cute is this!!  I had an idea of weaving paper for a page, and when I saw the  color stripes in  the Bunny Hop paper, I  quickly put this together.

I trimmed just one strip of each of the colors in the Bunny Hop paper, then weaved then on slight angle.  I glued them onto white cardstock, and trimmed the excess white cardstock.   I framed the page with the Everything Easter paper.

First, I set my title in place.  For this, I mixed Chit Chat with Gold Alphabet Soup  to create my title, and placed it in the top left quarter of the page,   I combined a few pieces Bits and Pieces with stickers to add a small floral cluster here.

Next, I cut two tags and used them as layers behind my photo.   I set them on my page on an offset following the angle  of the paper strip.  I repeated the flower cluster and a few extra stickers.

Next, I added one last cluster at the left bottom corner of the photos.   I pulled two bunny die cuts and added a  few extra details to this cluster.  I completed my page with a few Sprinkles

I love how this turned out, and I cannot wait to continue using the beautiful BUNNY HOP collection to document my memories

SPOOKTACULAR CREW - Doodlebug Design

Fall is here!  That means the holidays are coming, lots of memories to be had, and document especially with the new Doodlebug collections.   I am loving the new Sweet & Spooky collection, and though my kids are adults now, I am digging through my memories for some past Halloween pictures for my project with this collection.   Let's take a look at what I have created :

My starting point for this project was the new Home Sweet Home Chipboard Album.   I used the pieces of the album as a template to create my house from patterned papers from the collection.

I simply used a pencil to trace the pieces, then a craft knife to cut all the pieces.   It was fun to piece the house together for my layout.   I added a few extra puffy stickers, and sprinkles to give it a spooky feeling.   The trees in the Bits and Pieces package and sticker sheets  help to create the eerie feel of the home.

For my background, I am using white cardstock, however I am framing the entire page with Moonlight Magic paper.    Once I set the house in place, I then added the moon and clouds from the Bits and Pieces pack, and the  small puffy bat sticker.

I am using a piece of the Trick or Treat paper to anchor the page and photos to the layout.   This paper also helped with adding a few extra embellishments and the title of this layout (gotta love the Chit Chat pack!).  I added a few sprinkles and drops of black shimmer ink to finish the page.

I love how this turned out! and I am sure that you are all ready to start your Halloween documenting.  Be sure to check the new Sweet & Spooky collection... It is Spook-tacular!

LOVE YOU - Doodlebug Design

I am loving the new HELLO AGAIN collection!  It is the most perfect collection for document all your memories with a touch of Doodlebug cuteness, and shine!  Plus, literally, it is so easy to use that constructing this scrapbook layout took no time!

I just love the pops of color that frame my photo perfectly, and all those butterflies!!

I started by creating all the banners for my page from 12x12 patterned papers from the collection.  The colors and patterns are so well balanced, that it was so easy to mix and match them for my banners.   These were attached to the base (Petite Print) as if they are cascading from the top left side of the  page.

I decided to set my photo on the left side of the banners, and then created small clusters of embellishments along the diagonal line of the layout.  Starting with the top left corner of the photo then working to the bottom right corner of the page.

I used a mix of Chit Chat, Bits and Pieces, Doodle Pops, and Sprinkles to create the title for my page.   The gold foiling in all the pieces adds a touch of elegance to  the page, you don't need a lot of product to complete your page.

I love how this turned out, and I hope it inspires you to check all the gorgeousness of the new HELLO AGAIN collection, you are going to love it all!

ON THE FARM - Doodlebug Design

We all love farm adventures!  My kids (now adults) still love going for small trips to farms and orchards.  Throughout the years we have collected so many memories of those trips, and I am using the fun DOWN ON THE FARM collection to document one of them.

All the little icons in the Bits and Pieces pack were just perfect to create a scene-type layout for my memories.

I trimmed the Counting Sheep paper to create a curvature/hill for my background. I backed it with a Petite Print paper, then framed it with the Farmer Flannel paper.   Here is where I pulled pieces to create the small scene;  I had to add the tractor to match the one in the photo, and the small Doodle Pop just fit perfectly!

I placed my photos to the right of the scene. I used pieces of Chit Chat to add sentiments to the pictures.  Just love how it all lined up nicely!

To finish the page, I added a title using  a mix of embellishments at the bottom of the page.  Everything just fits perfectly in the scene.

I cannot wait to continue documenting more Farm adventures with the DOWN ON THE FARM collection.   Be sure to check the collection out!!

XOXO

SO HAPPY TOGETHER - Doodlebug Design

It is almost time to celebrate all the things LOVE.  So, how about using the new LOTS OF LOVE collection to document Family love in a colorful and fun way.

If you are anything like me, then you either have a busy schedule, and/or do not want to waste any scraps of paper.   Well, I think I combined both this ideas in this page.

I started  by using the leftover paper from my last project as part of the background.  I simply frame it with white cardstock and glued it to the center of the HUGS and KISSES paper.

The two pictures were backed with scraps of the 6x6 paper pad (also from my previous project), and set on  the middle of the page.   My idea was to create guiding lines that will bring the eye of the viewer to the pictures.  So, I pulled pieces of Chit Chat to create my title and placed them to the left and right of the pictures.

I added some sprinkles along the title to bring more colors to the page.   The title pieces are large enough that they cover the entire horizontal line of the page.

To create the vertical line of embellishments, I used pieces of Chit Chat, Bits and Pieces, and Odds and Ends, as well as more Sprinkles.   Like I said, quick and simple and lots of left over pieces

I hope this inspires you to document your love stories using the new Lots of Love collection, even with scraps and in a quick way!

WINTER SNOW FUN - Doodlebug Design

Winter is here! And if you are in the northern hemisphere that means we are enjoying frigid temperatures and lots of the white fluffy snow. We living in Canada gives you an appreciation for all the seasons, especially the winter months! You learn to enjoy the snow and the time outdoors, so many memories made in the snow. So, I am using the super fun Let It Snow to document my littles (niece and nephew) during a snow day!

I started by hand stitching a few simple snowflakes to the b side of the Frosty Floral paper.   I wanted to bring the feel of falling snow to the page.  So, once I finished stitching, I splatter white ink on the page.

I added a few sprinkles to the center of each of the  hand stitched snowflake. The small pops of color bring the snowflakes to live!

I wanted to create a winter scene at the bottom of the page.  For this, I ripped a piece of the North Pole paper and set it at the bottom of the page. I then used the natural line of  the paper to set the pictures on the page.  I added a few Bits and Pieces  to the corners of the pictures just to enhance the sentiment of the layout.

I used pieces from the Odds and Ends, and Chit Chat to add more embellishments to the page.  All those fun phrases are perfect to create a title for the page. Just a few extra stickers, doodle pop pieces and extra sprinkles complete the page.

Love how this turned out.  Those snowmen are perfect in this page.  Remember to check the Let It Snow collection, you are going to love it!
