Enjoy! - Adventure Awaits

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits -   ENJOY! - Adventure Awaits  -

Hello there,

Can you believe we are on February already!

That means a new kit is available at Clique Kits.  This month's BEE YOU kit is packed with the new Hazelwood collection from 1 Canoe 2 for American Crafts.  The gorgeous papers, embelishments, and the Clique Kits exclusives are perfect to document all kinds of memories.

Since we have had a mild weather the past week, all i have been thinking is   of travel and adventure, so I used one of this month's  Clique Kits exclusives to create a layout about the first day we arrive to my native little town.

I started by cutting the image on one of the papers from the collection, and used some foil to recreate the gold look of the stand of a globe.

adding some vellum behind the image creates a soft shadow that brings out the details of the image

Next I layered some papers behind the picture, and used the branding strips, CK exclusive printables, and ephemera to add interest to the picture.   One of the cut apart papers of the collection had a globe picture with the quote " Adventure Awaits", so I fussy cut the words and used them as a subtitle to this page.

All the butterflies in this kit are one of my favorite parts of the BEE YOU kit.  So i used them to create the idea of butterflies flying around the globe.

The page was trimmed and mounted onto the b side of the paper used to cut the image.   A few ink drops, the date and some journal lines complete the page,  Here is the final layout:

Here is a small video on how the page came together.  Please enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed the quick video!,  As you can see, Clique Kits's BEE YOU kit is so versatile.   You can check all the details included in the kit and more just by clicking here to be directed to the Clique Kits website.

I am always just a comment away, if you have any questions on how this came together.

Thanks for Visiting!!!

Love Everlasting

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits  - LOVE EVERLASTING  -

Hello there!

It seems i have been so busy with deadlines, that i almost miss posting a few to the respective blogs.

Today I am in the Clique Kits blog with a new layout featuring the beautiful, "Hey, Sugar" kit.  Since the kit is filled with pink and Valentine's Day motives, I knew it will be perfect to document a picture of my sister and nephew.

For this project I am using the February 2016 cut file design by Just Nick for Clique Kits.  I cut the outline, and used a 2h pencil to draw the inside triangles of the cut file.  I used watercolor paper to create the heart, and adding paint splatters, and water obtained the look desired for the heart.

Next I used a paper piercer to make holes in the corners of the triangles drawn, and used string to recreate the triangles of the heart.

Next I fussy cut the flowers from the Adore You paper from Crate Paper's Heart Day to layer behind the picture and the heart.

I used the same flowers at the top corner of the heart, and added the title in this corner of the heart.   The black and white alphas from Crate Paper's Heart Day collection complement the page perfectly, so i just added a small word sticker from the Wonderland kit to complete the title.  A few splatters of black ink, and a lines of journal (my new typewriter is the best!)  complete the page.

I so love this page, and the entire kit.   I wish i could hoard the kit,, but i think it is just perfect to document all those beautiful memories of our loved ones.  Don't forget to visit Clique Kits to obtain a kit, and to see what is being stocked in their shelves!

Take care!

Donut Delight

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits - DONUT DELIGHT -

Hello Friends,

Happy New Year to you all!   May 2016 be just a jump start to a blessed new year.  I am sure there are lots of new adventures to embark on 2017!

To start the year, I am up on the Clique Kits blog with a new  layout using the "Hey,Sugar" kit.  I love this kit, even when there is  a lot of pink in it, but the papers, add ons, embellies and cut files are so lovely, that I decided to use all of it in this layout.

The donut cut file was the inspiration for this layout.  I started by printing the image (using the Silhouette software) in my printer,  I transfer the image with pencil onto tracing paper, and used it as  guideline for my paper pieces.  Using watercolors and watercolor paper, i created this circles that simulate the donut dough.

Once dried, I used a circle cutter to cut the circles based on the trace paper guideline.   Mean while, I isolated the "donut's icing" image on the Silhouette, and cut papers from the kit with this image.

I used all the paper pieces to create these "donuts".   A little bit of hand stitching secures the pieces together, and adds texture to the page..

To recreate the sprinkles on the donuts, I cut some of the puffy stickers in the Hey, Sugar  kit to look like little sprinkles.   Using different thickness adhesive foam, I attached the donuts to the page.

The photo strip of my nephew eating just the sprinkles of a donut was nestled amongst the donut images.   I used some of the Heart Day embelishments, and 6x6 paper pad along with the Clique Kits exclusive printables to create clusters along the photo strip.

For the title, i played with the circumference of the donut to add the Heart Day alphas, and then combined them with  one of Fancy Pants' Joy Parade stickers (both included in the kit) to  finish the title.   I love the retro feeling of this title.  All my journal was written along the outer circumference of the donuts.  Here is the completed layout:

Don't you just love the clean and retro feeling of this page?   I love it, and it was all made using  the Clique Kit's "Hey, Sugar" kit.   So don't forget to stop by the Clique Kits website to check all the materials used here.

Thanks for visiting today!
