SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN - Doodlebug

Now at the bustle and hustle of Christmas is over, it is time to get all those memories into your albums. Today, I want to show you a fun a colorful idea featuring Let It Snow collection.

I started by adding a bit of color to the background. I literally dragged an ink pad on the page, then soften the dragged lines with a wet brush. While the background dried, I ripped a few pieces of two of the patterned paper in the collection. I wanted those edges to show on the page.

I fussy cut a few of the tags out, and used them a layers below the photo. I simply started adding a few more embellishements around the photo and the tags. I love Doodlepops, they are the perfect addition to any page.

I elongated the design by adding a few more embellishments on the top part of the photo. These help balance the page, and create a soft anchor line for the page.

I chose the title from the Chit Chat pack as it reminded me of the location of this photo, the Santa Claus parade. The small Santa icon sticker is the right size for the title. A few more embellishments and a bit of glimmer is all tahti i

Altenew: A Year In Review Blog Hop + Giveaway

Today, we are celebrating the end of the year with style, and what better way than to relive our most loved projects with you all... These are 4 of my favorites from the year:

I love teal, so I went for projects that were heavy on that color, and represent my style. Let's take a closer look;

I love Mixed Media, and Altenew's products are just perfect for it. This was created for the Altenew blog (08/17/22) and features the new Altenew Pigment Inks, Modern Hello Stamp set, Dovetail Butterflies Stamp/die set, Lagoon Watercolor Refill, Linear Pathway Outline Alpha stamp set, Watercolor Paper, and Lacy Tile Stencil. I combined them all to create the title page of my June Journal .

This was created for Altenew's 6th Anniversary blog hop, and is probably one of my favorite projects of the year. I combined: JUMBO GARDENING PICKS LAYERING DIE SET, CAPS BOLD ALPHA DIE set, MIX & MATCH MARIPOSA DIE SET, WATERCOLOR PAPER 9x12, LAGOON and SEA BREEZE Refill watercolor, Feeling Dotty Stencil, GRADIENT CARDSTOCK, and WOOD VENEERS. in this layout.

This is another of my favorite pages, and once again there is a bit of everything combined in this project created for the Altenew blog on April 27. I combined ALCOHOL INKS(Mountain Mist, Lagoon, Limestone) DECORATIVE SWIRLS DIE SET, MEGA YOU DIE, BOLD NUMERALS DIE SET-3 to create this entry in my journal.

My last project comes from the August Craft Your Life Project Kit: Lush Garden. I used the stamps, stencils and dies from the kit to create this pocket page in my journal. The beautiful flowers of the kit worked beautifully with the inks, and the color combo is just one that I will repeat again and again.

There are so many more that I could have chosen, but these four describe my style in a concise way. But I am always at awe of what can be created with Altenew's products.

Altenew NEW Year-End Celebration Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Today's release is filled with fun and versatile stand-alone dies that are both beautiful and versatile... Let me show you what I have created:

The new CELEBRATE WITH CAKE DIE SET is probably one that will be used quite a bit in the upcoming year. IT is perfect for all celebrations. I used it to document my sister's recent 45th birthday. I picked colors from the background paper to create the cake layers.

The new NESTING SLIM LABELS DIE SET is another one that will be on my desk for easy access. It creates the perfect size labels for all sorts of projects. I paired them to create the sentiment/title spot in the spread.

Let's just say most of today's release is going to a permanent spot in my desk. The new MEGA STAMP FRAMES DIE SET is probably one of my favorites this year. I love the fact that it can be used to give your photos a nice frame!

It was so easy to add multiple photos to the frames in the spread, and the new LOVELY DAISIES DIE SET was just perfect to add that whimsical softness to the entire spread. Just love how this turned out!

Of course the new MEGA STAMP FRAMES DIE SET can be used beyond memory keeping. The large frame fits nicely in an A2 card.

I paired it up with the new ALTENEW DECORATIVE TAGS DIE SET. The leaf design at the bottom of the tag is delicate and elegant, that all you need is a simple sentiment to complete it. I am using one from the MEGA STAMP FRAMES DIE SET.

I just love the new DECORATIVE TAGS DIE SET so much. I used the second design to create this clean and elegant card. Nothing better than a white on white CAS card!

I wrapped some metallic twine around the card panel, then thread my tag through it. Here I used the new FANCY YAY DIE to create the large sentiment from glitter cardstock!

For my last project. I am mixing the new NESTING SLIM LABELS DIE SET to create the background for my card. I cut it from dark teal cardstock, and just added a piece of the largest label to an A2 panel.

I then used the new MINI ROLLED ROSE DIE SET to cut all the flowers and leaves for the card. These roses are easy to build. I first used a small ball tool to softly curl the petals, then literally roll them and held them together with a dot of hot glue!

The dimension the flowers give to the card is amazing! It is like having a small rose in each card front.

I love how all these projects came together so easily!! and how these new die sets can easily work beyond cardmaking!

HOLIDAY in the CITY - Let It Snow collection | Doodlebug Design

And we are counting down the days until we can all gather to enjoy some time together whether at home or somewhere in the city, the Holidays are always better spent together. The new Let It Snow collection was just perfect to document one of our past Holiday traditions...

The design in the Heartwarming paper was the inspiration for the page. I simply attached pieces of Paper Frills to an 8" square of cardstock, and attached it to the center of the page.

I backed my photo with papers from the 6x6 paper pad. There are so many cute embellishments in this collection, it was so easy to cluster them together next to the photo,

I am a huge make-the-paper-work-for-you promoter, that means not being afraid to trim pieces off the embellishments to fit in your pages. You will be surprised at how your scrapbooking mojo will fly if you just do so! Just check the row of trees, I trimmed the sentiments out of it, and added it on my cluster.

I chose to create a large cluster of ephemera opposite the photo placement. This helps to balance the page and create the perfect placement for a title.
