ALTENEW BUILD-A-FLOWER: BEGONIA RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY

Hi there!
Welcome to the ALTENEW BUILD-A-FLOWER: BEGONIA RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY.  You are arriving from Laura Jane's blog ( a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post for your convenience).

I love the first day of each month -not just for the fresh start- as it is time for a new BAF set; and this time is all about the BEGONIA  (which is one of the first stamps i got from Altenew).  This set is so versatile, and super easy to layer that it took no time to create this page for my Family album:

I started by creating a mask of the flower and leaf using the die set.   Then used Black Obsidian Ink to stamp the flowers around the edges of the page.  Once i stamped a few flowers as a basis, i used the masks to help me build the cluster of flowers on the edges.

To add a bit of detail to the outline flowers, I used Limestone Crisp ink and stamped the last detailed image onto them; this just bring a bit of accent to each of the petals and creates a soft depth on the flowers.

The trifold pamphlet that comes with the stamp set is always my starting point/inspiration.  This time, i chose the color of the Begonia's from the layering guide example. So i used Golden Sunset and Sea Shore mini ink cube sets to create a few color Begonias for the page.

Once i set the picture on the right side of the page, i balance the layout by adding a large title on opposite positions.  I combined the sentiments in the BAF: Begonia stamp set with  the word "you" -made from black metallic cardstock cut with the bold alpha die set".

The finishing touch was adding the colored Begonias on a soft diagonal design across the layout.  Just love how this turned out!   The delicate design of the flower and the color of the ink just bring this every day memory to live.
