Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Rose Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

 Hello there!

Welcome to ALTENEW'S CRAFT-A-FLOWER: ROSE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY.  You are arriving from Tenia Nelson's blog.   You can find a list of all the participants at the bottom of this post for your convenience.

Today, Altenew is releasing their new subscription flower.  Welcome CRAFT-A-FLOWER: ROSE.  This new die set is amazing, detailed and so easy to layer that will make your flowers come together in a flash.    Let me show you what I have created for this hop:

I used the CAF: ROSE to create a new layout in my Family Album. I cut the flowers from light purple and pink cardstock and created about 3 roses from each color.

I used four of the die cut flowers to create a corner design on the page.  The flowers are large enough to create a large cluster on the page.   All that was left to do was add my lines of journal and small sentiment to this part of the spread.

I used the two left over flowers to create a cluster at the top corner of the page.  I made sure to back the picture with a paper from the Reflections collection - this will make it pop from the page - and then used the Kind Reminders stamp set to add a few sentiments to the page.

I love how easy this page came together and the impact the die cut flowers create on this spread.   Remember to check the new CAF:ROSE in the Altenew Shop.   You can always sign up for the subscription program, which will secure you receive the new CAF die set each month.

ALTENEW BUILD-A-FLOWER: BEGONIA RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY

Hi there!
Welcome to the ALTENEW BUILD-A-FLOWER: BEGONIA RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY.  You are arriving from Laura Jane's blog ( a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post for your convenience).

I love the first day of each month -not just for the fresh start- as it is time for a new BAF set; and this time is all about the BEGONIA  (which is one of the first stamps i got from Altenew).  This set is so versatile, and super easy to layer that it took no time to create this page for my Family album:

I started by creating a mask of the flower and leaf using the die set.   Then used Black Obsidian Ink to stamp the flowers around the edges of the page.  Once i stamped a few flowers as a basis, i used the masks to help me build the cluster of flowers on the edges.

To add a bit of detail to the outline flowers, I used Limestone Crisp ink and stamped the last detailed image onto them; this just bring a bit of accent to each of the petals and creates a soft depth on the flowers.

The trifold pamphlet that comes with the stamp set is always my starting point/inspiration.  This time, i chose the color of the Begonia's from the layering guide example. So i used Golden Sunset and Sea Shore mini ink cube sets to create a few color Begonias for the page.

Once i set the picture on the right side of the page, i balance the layout by adding a large title on opposite positions.  I combined the sentiments in the BAF: Begonia stamp set with  the word "you" -made from black metallic cardstock cut with the bold alpha die set".

The finishing touch was adding the colored Begonias on a soft diagonal design across the layout.  Just love how this turned out!   The delicate design of the flower and the color of the ink just bring this every day memory to live.

Now the part that you all have been waiting for: GIVEAWAY

Technique Tuesday June Release Blog Hop

Hello there!

Welcome to the Technique Tuesday June 2019 Release Blog Hop.   You must be arriving from      - a list of all the participants has been added at the bottom of this post for your convenience.    It is always a fun day when you get to play with stamps, and this month's   Laugh and Smile Stamp Set is  one that will be a staple in my documenting.

The rectangular shape of the sentiments in the stamp set were the catalyst for the idea of building a tile background for this page.

I chose to use different tones of blue Distress Oxides to build the background ( Tumbled Glass, Blueprint sketch, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Zapphire)and loved the different sizes in the sentiment tiles of the Laugh and Smile Stamp set.   To complete the page and the sentiments of the tiles, i simply spelled the word "SMILE" with gold foam stickers.

To complete my page, i chose to add the picture to a paper from the Pinkfresh Studio Simple and Sweet collection, and decided to build a subtitle for the page by using the Layered Smile Crafting Dies and metallic Kraft paper from Tim Holtz' Idea-o-logy collection.

To continue the tile look of the layout, i added a few word embellishments that had the same shape and small gold accents.  A few lines of journal and the gold ink splatters complete this page.

I love how easy this came together, and the graphic look of the layout.   The following video will show you how the layout came together using the new stamp and dies:

Remember to check Technique Tuesday for the new releases, and check the Laugh & Smile stamp set and the coordinating Layered Smile Crafting Dies and Layered Laugh Crafting dies, they will sure be a staple on your collection.  If you have questions on how this came together, please do not hesitate to contact me.

ALTENEW BUILD-a-FLOWER: DAHLIA Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there and welcome to the Build-a-Flower: Dahlia Release Blog Hop and Giveaway!   You should be arriving from the talented Emily Midgett's blog.      I am so happy you are joining me today as i show you a few projects created with the beautiful Build-a-Flower:  Dahlia Stamp and Die set.

For my  first project i chose to create a card using the Build-a-FLower: Dahlia Stamp and Die set and pairing up with the Leaf Medallion die.   I chose to stamp the flowers on mixed media paper and used the Altenew watercolors pan set to detail them and bring losts of dimension to the image.

To make the Dahlia stamped images stand out, i used the Leaf Medallion die to create the background from dark brown metallic paper from Tim Holtz.  This was all glued to a white cardstock panel.  The sentiment also comes from the Build-a-Flower:  Dahlia stamp set.   I chose this time to use a wine color card base as it frames the card pannel nicely.    Totally love how easy this was to put together.

After creating the card, i was totally loving the color combination, so i decided to use it to create this layout about my new baby cousin -my Goddaughter-.  This time, i chose to detail the Dahlia stamped images with the Altenew Shade of Purple, Rose Petal, Tropical Forest, Green Fields Crisp Ink Mini Cubes.

To have the colors of the flowers stand out, i paired them with a few papers from the Verdant 6x6 paper pad, and embellishments from the Acetate Butterfly collection.

The title was created using the Mini Hello stamp set and the Charmed Stamp set, and placed opposite to the picture in the layout.   The following video will showcase how this page came together:

The beautiful blooms from the Build-a-Flower: Dahlia set are the perfect background to the sweet picture of my new baby cousin.     The delicate images are so perfect to create all types of projects beyond cards and layouts.  Remember to stop by Altenew to check the new Build-a-Flower: Dahlia stamp and die set, or better yet sign in for the BAF subscription which will provide you with the monthly Build-a-Flower release at a discounted prize .
