Altenew December 2019 Ink Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there!

Welcome to the ALTENEW DECEMBER 2019 INK RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY.  You are arriving from Kelly's blog ( a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post).

If you love stamps and inks as much as i do, then you must understand my excitement for this new release.   The new ink sets -TRANQUILITY, SUGAR PLUM, and FALL HARVEST are high quality inks that can be used for stamping, coloring and mixed media.  I loved them so much that i set to use the three sets in my projects.

I started this page with the Heart Builder Stencil and the Fall Harvest ink set .  A bit of masking tape was used to block the bottom part of the layout, so that heart impression only sets on the top two thirds of the page.

While the background dried completely, i used the Sugar Plum and Tranquility Ink sets , Obsidian Black Pigment ink with the Frilly Petals Stamp and Die set to create all the florals for this page.

To assemble the page, i cluster the florals around the picture of my daughter and mom, and then also added a third cluster of flowers to the left of the page.  Here i used the Across the Pond stamp set to add a sentiment that serves as the title for the page.

I love the color combination, and the soft colors of the flowers.  I had so much fun creating this page, that i decided to use the three ink sets to create a second layout ( one of my favorite projects of the year) .

This time, i decided to block the center  of the layout with masking tape and use the TRANQUILITY ink set  to create a gradient /ombre effect across the center of the page using the inks and a blending brush.

While the inked background set in place, i used the Grateful Heart Stamp set and the Sugar Plums and Fall Harvest ink sets and Black Obsidian inks to create all the florals for the page.   I took my time fussy cutting the images .

To complete this page,  I used the Fancy Greetings stamp set, Gold Pigment ink and Clear transparent embossing powder to create the title and small sentiment for the layout.  The following video will show you how it all came together:

I hope these have inspired you to take a look and try the new Altenew ink sets.  They are a great addition to the Altenew ink collection.  But i think you all are waiting for the best part of the blog hop...                  GIVEAWAY

12 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS, Day 4 - JustNick Studio

Hi there,
Nathalie with you today bringing Day 4 of the 12 Days of Giveaways!  I am so excited to be part of this JustNick Studio tradition - I hope you all have been checking the blog to collect your free daily cut file download-.  Today's freebie is the ORNAMENT 3 cut file, and you are going to love how fun and versatile it is!

How fun are those ornaments!  I started this page with a bit of mixed media.  I used Vicki Boutin art crayons to bring some of the green of the Christmas tree to the page.

My idea of creating a cascade of ornaments came from the fun selfie.  For this, i cut the ornaments twice from white cardstock and stacked them together to create dimension on each ornament.
To bring the festive feel of the season, i chose papers from the Pink Paislee Together for Christmas and Pebbles Inc. Merry Little Christmas collection to carefully back each of the ornaments, then attached them to the background using foam adhesive.
All that was left to do was embellish the picture with a few stickers and a shiny title.   Just love those ornaments and i think they will be perfect to document some of your December memories.  And you can download a copy of the Ornaments 3 cut file for free just today - Dec. 5th, 2019
Here is how you get your free copy of the cut file:
Enter the code: ORNAMENT3FREE at checkout to get this design for free.
This code is only valid until midnight CST on December 5th, 2019 at midnight CST.

DECEMBER DOCUMENTING - Citrus Twist Kits

Hi there!

December Documenting is happening! though i do not do it on a daily basis, i do heavily document my December ( there are a lot of happenings in our family!!!).  This year i am working with a Life Crafted album and lots of supplies from Citrus Twist kits.  I created a few foundation pages ahead of time, but i tend to work as the day happens.  So, here are a few entries from the past few days:

You can find process videos for some of my foundation pages in the CTK youtube channel, but here are finished pages.

For this page, i photographed my tree during the day and night (i created the bokeh effect with a cut out on my lens)and printed the night shot on vellum, so i can layer it on the other tree.

Here are is the b side of this story:

I used the December Life Crafted kit and Add on to create these pages.   AS well as products available at the CTK shop.

This year my main wish was to keep my entries simple and try at best to keep single page layouts... So i pulled the December Add on kit and Life Crafted kit from Citrus Twist kits and a few past kit pieces for this pages:

I layered pieces from the Add on kit and exclusive cards on top of a piece of paper from the Life Crafted kit.

My hope with keeping single layouts is that i can add more stories to the album without having to reach for a second album.

The Snowflake collection from Crate Paper pairs nicely with Heidi Swapp's Honey and Spice and i am loving the palette in my album.

The specialty paper of the Snowflake collection is perfect to bring the holiday feeling to the page, plus all the digital files (available for subscribers) is perfect for these pages.

I hope this inspires you to check CITRUS TWIST KITS for all the albums, kits and stamps used here.   Their December kits are probably some of my most favorites to date.

I will be back soon to show you a few more of my pages.
