Today, Altenew is releasing a brand new set of products that are amazing ( as it happens with every one of their releases!). So be prepared to start choosing favorites, and it is going to be hard!
The new CALMING REVERIE stamp set is amazing! The large detailed rose shaded with dots is beautiful, delicate and super detailed. I chose to use it to create a layout for my journal.
For this layout, i chose to use the notebook division as a way to marry color. So, i created a mask for the flower and leaf, and then used my stamping platform to help me create the background work. I chose to add color to the white side of the page, and kept the flowers black and grey for the color side of the layout. I used Tea Party, Warm Greys and Tropical Forest to create the flowers in the page.
The large bloom of the stamp set makes it such a large focal point that all that was left was to add a small title/sentiment to the page. I used the BERGENIA BUILDER stamp set to create the sentiment; once it was stamped, i fussy cut around it and glued it on the page. Love the color transition and really how easy this came together.
One of my most favorite things this month is the new INK BLENDING TOOL. It is so easy to work with it, you are going to love it! For this page, i started once again with the idea of blending the stamped images onto two different papers. This time, i cut white cardstock to fit inside the pink background paper; then used the INK BLENDING Tool to add color to the cardstock ( Tropical Forest and Sugarplum Mini ink cube sets).
Once the ink sets, i used Obsidian ink to stamp theblooms onto the layout (i used a triangle as a reference to place my stamped images). I used a white gel pen to add small details to the centers of the flowers, and make them stand out a bit on the page. This time, i hand wrote my lines of journal and then used the AMAZING THINGS stamp set to create the title for the page.
In order not to lose the details of the background, i chose to use the new SILKY LILAC Metallic Thread to create a small thread bundle behind the cluster on the picture. The soft blooms withthe small color explosion it is perfect for the calming cup of tea on the picture.
Now onto my last project of today! I love the AMAZING THINGS stamp set ( first of, it sounds like i named this stamp set! as it is one of my most used expressions.) , and it was perfect to create this card.
I started by creating the background with the INK BLENDING TOOL, the Wavy Grid Stencil and Pure Graphite Crisp ink. While tAMAZING THINGShe inked panel dried, i used the Tranquility Mini Ink Cube, Obsidian ink and the to create the blooms.
I used a bit of the new ENCHANTED GOLD Metallic Thread to create small bundles that were glued under the flowers. Followed by some Enchanted Gold sequin, and then used the BERGENIA BUILDER to add the sentiment on the card. Love, love, love!!!
