Go Live In Wonder

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - GO LIVE IN WONDER -

Hi there!  It is time for a new Sunday Sketch over at Citrus Twist Kits.   For today's blog post, I joined Trina and Emma with my take on the sketch.

I love this month's Little Things scrapbook kit, so i chose to play with some of the papers in the kit to create the layers behind the pictures.

Since i wanted the crosses in the sketch to show in the design, i used some Pinkfresh Studio watercolors to create the background for this page on watercolor paper.

The blue almost purple backgroung was the perfect color to bring the details of the crosses.  For this i used an old Heidi Swapp stencil and some modeling paste.  While the paste dried, i fussy  cut some of the crosses from the Little Things Scrapbook Kit, and attached them to the background with some foam adhesive.

I changed the location of the journal lines with that of the title.  This time, I brought some of the gold accents to the wood piece included in the kit, and added a few die cuts and exclusive stamp images.

Love how this turned out, as the sketch was  a great building block for a page of your own.  Stop by Citrus Twist kits to check the other takes on the sketch and to check all the beautiful kits!!   AS always i am a comment away if you have questions on how this was put together.

Do Good, Dream, LOVE, Sparkle

Hi there!  Nathalie with this week's 3-to-Inspire.   The newly released "Perfectly Posh" kits are so gorgeous, and packed with so many goodies, it was so easy to pick three prompts to inspire this week's' project.  Here are the prompts:

  • Incorporate the Maggie Holmes Crepe Fringe
  • Add butterflies
  • Use fussy cut elements

This is how i combined the prompts in this project:

First, the background was created using a combination of the liquid watercolors from Pinkfresh Studio available at the shop.  I used Aquamarine, Blue Sky, Bubble Gum, and Yellow to create the watercolor look on the background. Make sure you check the watercolors at the store, they are so easy to work with ;)

While the background dried, i used papers from the "Perfectly Posh" Scrapbook kit to back the letters in the cut file/title - this cut file is available at the CTK store for free-, as well as to add layers behind the picture.  In addition, i took some time to fussy cut a few of the flowers from the Simplicity paper from PinkFresh Studio included in the kit.

A bit of foam adhesive was used to attached the title to the page, next i tucked the picture of my kids at the top corner of the title, and started to embellish the layout using all the fussy cut flowers, pieces from the cut apart page -available for free at the CTK store- as well as stickers and washi tape from  the embellishment kit.

Lately, i have been creating pages with  hidden details, so i decided to use some of the crepe fringe as part of my peek-a-boo element in this page.   For this, i cut a piece of the Pinkfresh Studio Simplicity paper.  Next, i carefully glued the the fringe at about half an inch from the edge of the piece of paper, then trim the excess fringe. Since i wanted to have a long piece of fringe at the bottom layer, i continue to glue the fringe next to each other until the entire bottom edge of the paper was covered.  Then used a different color of the fringe just to add an extra layer above the one just glued.

The paper with the fringe was glued to the bottom of the page.  Here i carefully distress the bottom edge of the cardstock so that the fringe border would show, and decided to add a butterfly from the foam stickers included in the "Perfectly Posh"kit to bring the eye to this detail.   So a few more butterflies around the page just bring the page together.

A few  stamped sentiments from the kit's stamp, and the "So Very You" Traveller's Notebook Stamp complete the title, and add a few more details on the page.

Love how this page turned out.  This month's kits, add ons, digital files are amazing, so it made this page a true joy to put together.  And now it is your turn to use this week's prompts to create a page of your own.   Remember to share your finished projects on the Citrus Twist Kits Fan Page on Facebook or on social media (tag us using #citrustwistkits).  I cannot wait to see what you create with the prompts and all the August kits (they are so gorgeous!!)

My Personal Journal

Traveler's Notebook layouts created for Citrus Twist Kits   - MY PERSONAL JOURNAL -

Hi there!  Nathalie with you today bringing you a few ideas on how to put those 3x8 bookmarks (available in the Digital Files section of the CTK shop) to work with this month's Skyland kits.  What can i say,  I love adding variety to my Traveler's Notebooks, and having the option of  creating hybrid entries for my journal is not only fun, but also a fast way to put a TN layout together.

But don't be discouraged if you don't have access to Photoshop, you can still work with the digital cards by printing them and adding them to your projects.    In fact, i have created 2 projects one with a hybrid option, and the next just using a print from the digital files.

The first project features a card that was designed on Photoshop.  Once the page was printed, i  trimmed a bit off the edges and framed it with the Heidi Swapp paper (it has a very soft rose design on it), and added a small  floral ephemera piece at the bottom of the page.

The same paper was used to back the picture, which was then mounted on the Pinkfresh Studio paper that matches the floral cluster element at the bottom of the hybrid page, all these papers are included in the Skyland Scrapbook kit.  To complete the page, I added a few stamped sentiments using the Conversation Starter set and a few drops of gold ink.    This entry took no time to put together!

Now, this entry was created by printing the  3x8 bookmark cards without using Photoshop.  First I added my journal on the card using a typewriter, and glued it to one side of the TN entry.  The photo strip was then backed with the matching paper from this month's Skyland PL kit, and glued to the opposite side of the layout.

Once again, since the card is holding the journal lines, and has a title built  in, I chose to only add a few more embellishments.   This month's cut apart element page (available for free at the Citrus Twist Kits shop) is amazing!,  so i combined a few of the cut aparts with pieces from the Skyland PL kit.  Once again i added a few stamped sentiments using the Conversation Starter stamp set (Check this stamp set out, it is amazing, and filled with so many possibilities!) to complete the page.

Well that is for me for today!  Do not forget to check all the new July kits, and while you are at the shop also add a few of the CTK digital files to your cart;  these are great options to stretch your kits, and add variety to your memory keeping.

Remember to share your projects using CTK products and digital files in our Facebook Fan page or in social media (please tag @citrustwist kits).    I am looking forward to seeing what you create this month.
