My Personal Journal - Week 27

hello back!

Like I mentioned in the previous post,  it has been a rather busy couple of weeks.  Just a few more projects to complete before taking a small break to vacation in town with family from overseas. So without much further ado, here are the entries for week 27 in my personal journal:

These entries are a good representation of how busy my life has been, and the joy it is to create a visual journal to tell it.  A hybrid page (large title and backgrounds take the guessing game and take care of a lot of the embellishing on a page), a simple scrapbook page, and a scraplift, all simple ways to  get your stories told on a TN.  I have used mostly Citrus Twist Kits, and some In A Creative Bubble digitals to complete the pages.

I have combined some CTK kits with Altenew stamps to create these pages.   Love the clean look of the pages, and how beautifully they tell our story.

The flower paper used in the top entry is one of my favorites ever from Citrus Twist Kits, and though I consider hoarding it, I kept reminding myself that i need to use more of my supplies.  So i am taking my time to see ways into adding my stories using all the goodies i am safe keeping.

Well, that is all for me for today.   It is time to dive in back into video and picture editing, so I can continue sharing what i create with you all.

Day 2 of the 14 Days of Giveaways -Just Nick Studio

Welcome to Day 2 of our 14 Days of Holidays cut file giveaways!  Each weekday from December 1-14, 2017 we will be giving away a FREE cut file for that day only!


When Nicole showed us all the cut files available, I fell in love with the  Snowflake design! and so many ideas formed in my head.  But i chose one that is all about decor, and can easily be used in your home.





Since we change the color scheme of our Christmas decor every few years, i chose to create this garland to match the colors of the tree decorations.  It all started by using some foil to create the snowflake designs, and letters (the letters have a white matte foil finish!).  I cut a few of the Snowflakes in three different sizes, and set them aside.





Next i used some strips  (1.5in wide) to create the paper rosettes, and glued them to a piece of jute cord. I used those small heart die cuts (some leftover pieces from previous projects) to hold the rosettes together, and to attach them to the string.







Next I used Marquee Alpha cut file to cut the word JOY from the white matte foiled paper.  I made sure to size the letters so that they fit in the center of each paper rosette.






Then it was just a matter of assembling all the pieces together.   I used silicone (hot) glue to attach the foiled snowflakes to each of the rosettes.   The center ones got a letter ( i cut two of each letter, and glued them together), while the corner ones got  three snowflakes ( in graduating sizes and colors) and a small star sequin in the center.  I just love the look of the garland.



This is what the garland looks like in our tree.  We are working on adding the word PEACE now!.   I hope this inspires you to use the cut file in a different craft other than a layout!.
