Hi there!
Welcome to ALTENEW GET INKY WITH ALCOHOL INKS BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY. You are arriving from Seeka's Blog. A list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post for your convenience.
I am so excited to be part of today's blog hop as I love all things messy and inky. I love mixed media! Today, we are celebrating Alcohol Inks, there is something magical and an somehow mysterious on how these react. The Altenew Alcohol Inks ( Artist Marker Refills) are so easy to work with, and having them in a family of colors allows you to create an infinite variation of colors for your finished projects.
Today, I am working with the Lapis Lazuli Alcohol Ink Bundle and Sugarplum Alcohol Ink Bundle to create my cards!
For this card, I cut my panel from the blue side of my paper, then used the Caps Bold Alphabet die set to cut the sentiment from the same side of the paper. I used the Mix & Match Mariposa Die Set to cut the butterflies from different parts of the paper, so that they will pop from the sea of blue!
I love the little color changing spots in the flowers. To bring the focus to the florals, I used the Scalloped Frame 3D Embossing folder to create the card panel. The strip sentiment was cut from matte gold cardstock - with the You Matter Die Set- and backed with a piece of the alcohol paper.
For my last card, I decided to use the area of the Yupo paper where the two color families met. This creates those transitional puddles of ink, and also a large range of different color tones. I reached for the Craft-a-Flower: Open Peony Layering Die Set to cut the leaves. Using glue dots, I arrange them on the card panel to bring a bit of the color transition to the cascade of leaves.
I am using a simple sentiment from the Colorful Soul Stamp set to add the sentiment to the bottom of the card. This keeps the leaves as the focal point of the card.
I hope these have inspired you to pull your Altenew Alcohol Inks and/or Artist Markers to create projects of your own!
