Hi there!
Summer Break is almost over, lots of memories to document and very little time available (so is life!). However, i pulled together some mixed media, a cut file and a few 6x8 paper pads. Let me show you how this came together.
I started by creating my background. First i added gesso to heavy cardstock; once it dried, i used Vicki Boutin Art Crayons to recreate a blue cloudy sky. A few clouds were added using white paint and a stencil from Echo Park.
The cut file -from Handipaper- was backed with papers from Shimelle's Sparkle City, Dear Lizzy's It's All Good and Saturday Afternoon from 1Canoe2. I even used a bit of art crayons to create the yellow paper for the center of the sun.
To embellish the page, i pulled lots of stickers and ephemera from the same collections as well as Pinkfresh Studio's Joyful Day and Sweet and Simple, Pink Paislee's Turn the Page, and Simple Stories' Lil' Princess.
I added lots of pops of color with the embellishments, and chose to trim the sides of the page and replace the cuts with a rainbow paper from the 1Canoe2 Saturday Afternoon collection. Here is final page:
Just love the simple but colorful design of the page, it is like a little slice of summer. You can check how this page came together in the following process video:
Hope this inspires you to document your memories with brilliant colors. Remember to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the materials used in this page.
