MAKE A SPLASH - JustNick Studio

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a new layout to celebrate this week's theme, Summer and Travel.   Having a pool in the background is a perk that my kids and littles love to enjoy in the summer, so, I pulled a few cut files from the JustNick Studio Shop to create this page.

The idea for this page came from my niece's love for floating around the pool ( and me following her around the deck), right away i knew i wanted to use the In The Deep End Background as the background for the page.  

While the background was cut from a paper of the Sunshine and Summer collection from Simple Stories, i chose to add a bit of  mixed media to the background (Distress Oxide inks) so that it looked like the water in the pool.

  Here i realized that i needed to back the holes of the In The Deep End background cut file, so i used the same cut file, deleted the center cuts of each ring, and then cut it from white cardstock.

  

Once i attached the background, i pulled the Summer Lovin' cut file and used the, "Make A Splash" image to cut the title for this page from another paper from the same Simple Stories collection (this took a while to cut due to the small details in the image).

Once the title and pictures were glued to the page, all that was left to do was to embellish the page. For this, i used stickers and ephemera pieces from the collection, and Voila, done!

I love how this came together, and how an idea can easily be translated to a page using cut files.
