Smile

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - SMILE -

Hi there!

This week the DT at Scrapbook Nerd is presenting projects that showcase Ranger's Distress Oxide Inks.  Well, i happen to love Distress Inks and Oxides, especially to create fun mixed media backgrounds.  SO i pulled a few inks and the new Pinkfresh Studio "BE YOU" collection to create a page about my daughter.

My idea was to have a two tone look for this page, so I pulled Tater Rose, Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, and Evergreen Bough to create the background of the page.

I simply stamped the ink pad on some plastic, and used water to dilute the color, and then applied it as if watercolor.  I was just careful to not mix the two tones, and also added a bit of this mixture to the bottom of the page.

While the background dried, I added a layers of paper and ephemera to the back of the picture.  I used the large chipboard frames from the collection to create a playful design for the page, and then added a few die cuts (Inna Moreva's cut file)  just to soften the layers of the page.

The title of the page was set on the lower watercolor section of  the page.  I kept it simple by using one of Bella Blvd.s acrylic words.   To finish, I went ahead and added some strips of the collection papers to the side and bottom of the page, just to bring all the colors together.

As you can see, there is no date or journal in this page (as it was created while i was battling the flu, and it just skipped my brain), but i still love how it turned out. I will add the date and journal before it goes into the page protector.

I hope this serves as inspiration to try some of the Distress Oxides, and all that can be created with them.  As always let me know if you have questions, and stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check for all the materials  used in this page.

XO
